AMEN! I've driven Mercedes cars for the past 24 years. Bought my first one when I was 19. But not new ones; OLD ones - 1980s diesels. Back when they built good cars. My daily driver is 37 years old, paid for, restored to near-new condition, no emissions inspections, no check engine light, just a solid old car that any idiot can work on himself. I have another one with 752K miles on it. Good old cars back then. I see the flashy newer cars pass me, and I smile, imagining how much their payment is every month, lol!!

Can’t afford 2,000 to fix a Ford Fusion
Buys 20,000 Ford Fusion
No way that would cost 2000 unless she went to the stealership.
The cost to fix her Ford Fusion would have conservatively been only about $600-800. Why in the name of all that's sacred she would get rid of that car to buy a $20,000 Ford Fusion? If I heard right, wasn't the "newer" Ford Fusion only a few years newer than the car she got rid of?
@@robindear5043 it's a woman thing and an emotional decision. I remember when my mom's water heater went out and as we were mopping up the water because the tank busted, she started shouting that she was going to sell her house. I told her that's like selling your car over a dead battery. If women would take an interest in fixing things themselves, they would think more analytically. The only way to have a car that never needs brake work is to not own a car or trade yearly.
I think she was being shortsighted in her decision, and now regrets it. It may have taken a few days, maybe even a few weeks, but she could have inquired around and found a mechanic or shop that could've fixed her car for a reasonable price. I have known just as many men who make emotional, "spur of the moment" decisions, then later, after the smoke clears, they regret it. This has nothing to do with gender. Will she negotiate with the dealership to return the car, even though her 30 days have passed? I doubt it. She didn't mention it, but I wonder if she traded her car in for the $20,000 one, or has it sitting in her driveway?

What kind of electrical work do you do sir
You still worked and studied ! Smart .
School definitely is not for everyone and it can cause debt if you jump in blindly. However if you get a degree in a high paying career, you can pay that debt off easily with your income. This is especially true if you take study seriously by not flunking subjects and semesters, working a part time job while you study and paying it off as you go. Everyone in my family has followed this formula and been successful with it

A wedding doesn't have to be expensive. The court house is very inexpensive.
Shay t. Think what she means is that you shouldn’t wed someone wit so much debt LOL omg the bride stoopid 😂
Facts
Hmmm .. you're right
Americans love debt, they absolutely love it, can't get enough of it.
I got my daughter and son in law on to Dave. They are rocking it, and I have helped them out just a little bit. I'm proud of them, and have great expectations for thier future
When 8k of student loans makes you seem rich after watching this video....
no, you're just less broke....
That's not bad :) and you can pay that off :D
I paid mine off with a home equity line of credit :)
Ryan Turner Baldbrah!
I felt the same!!!!
Man this is making me reconsider all my life choices.
Michael Jenkins, like, you realize yours weren’t so stupid after all? Or are you identifying too much with these callers? 😆 It’s all good, we all need a dose of this medicine.
SERIOUSLY
this why I aint making none
@@keepyourheadup9183 Both. Not acting as unwise as these callers, but we are realizing we're not headed in the smartest direction.
This vid made me change my mind on an expensive luxury apartment that I was planning on moving to this fall. I guess I'll just stay where I am and continue to save my money lol
I gotta use that uncle Dave “don’t drive off “😂😂😂😂
#9 is a crazy piece of work…. Never pays a single bill but “we want to just move on from this.”
“I’m considering getting a job.”
I was raised by a single mom living off a 15k salary ... and this guy has an issue with living off of 90k. Sounds rough.
I agree. So many people I know simply live beyond their means.
People have no humility
Some people just don't know how to live simple. Too much pride in buying used anything.
Hilarious ain't it
I have learned income is irrelevant with the majority of people as far as getting in debt. I know friends who make a 130k annually , and have 75k in car debt . No savings living paycheck to paycheck. I know people making 50k 30k just in car debt . They both live above there means.
"You spent 20k on a car?"
"Yes."
"You're broke!"
She chuckles "yea!"
Guy Zandler I gasped when she said 20k on a car. I can't understand people and their obsession with owning cars they can't afford😑
zinab2blessa Blame car commercials. They show good looking cars doing things you can't do legally all over, as well at tempt you with "deals" that put you in debt.
Everyone sees ads for things they can't afford but it isn't really an excuse to get in huge debt.
There's also the whole "We need a new car, and they go to get some fancy one at a dealership. Even though a used one at $7000 would work just as well, they want the nicer, newer $20000 one, and keep up with the Joneses. It's stupid, and we all know it, but stupid seems to be the new normal these days.
zinab2blessa I can’t understand people who have credit card debit the price of a 20K car.
To Dave : I’m broke and have no car so I take the bus to work
Dave : sell your neighbors car
😜
LOL !
I bet anything she kept the car!
My money says she did also. She really didn't like the idea of giving it up. She just wants to live like a queen on a fishwife budget.
In a Ford Fusion?!?! Theyre not even good cars!
EmperorTokugawa Right!
Mars TV by nikki bass haha I was thinking the same thing.
+EmperorTokugawa the ford fusion is nothing but the offspring of the ford taurus!
I was 8 grand in credit card debt for the last 3 or 4 years. Just paying the minimum. I make about 30k a year right now but in the past 4 months i've paid over 6 grand. 2 more to go!
Aaron Fisher you go Aaron!
Aaron Fisher how did you pay that much over 4 months?
Aaron Fisher i used to do that when I was younger and stupid lol paying a little more than minimum and wondering why I couldn’t pay off lol...Now I pay them off every time I use my credit cards.
@Kara The Love Bug you'll be calling Dave in 5 years crying like a baby hahaha
@Aaron Fisher I thought I was reading about myself there. 8k debt with a 30k job. Guess I have to tighten up the ship myself and get out under this.
I used to feel like a poor 20-year-old for only having $750 in savings but I have no debt and a college degree so I guess I am ahead of most people! Jesus!
Dave : why you didn't pay your bills
Caller : I don't know
😂😂😂
I'm about to pay off the last of my credit cards next week!
Nicely done. How are you doing now?
proud of you
Great! After you're done, burn the credit cards!!!!
Congratulations!
🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
I seriously don’t understand how someone makes 100k per year and still is broke
Carol Brewer bills 💵 bills 💵 bills 💵 bills 💵 bills honey❤️ I makes 18000 dollars per year my savings account have $4000 and I have my rent credit card my 2 boys thanks 🙏 god my boyfriend give me money 💰 every week
Just because you make that much that doesn’t mean that’s what you take home. That’s how life works young man
Professional Degrees cost a fuckton. I graduated with $250k in debt at not a good interest rate.... I make good six figures but it's still gonna take me a decade to pay off ... it's insane.
Just because someone makes that much doesn't mean they know how to live below their means and save their money
Collin Mac first of all, I am a woman. Second of all, you have to be dumb if you make 100k per year and don’t know how to control it, how can you spend more than you can?
Caller: We just had two kids
Dave:
Sell the kids.
😂
😂😂😂
No please dont.
@@buffaloben15golf88 why
😆 🤣 😂
You know she intentionally waited until after the 30 days to call in so she wouldn’t have to take the car back.
LOL that's exactly what I thought
I heard it in her voice that she knows she shouldn't have bought the car, but she thoroughly enjoys making such "crazy" fun financial decisions. She is the kind of girl who thinks it is part of her personality to splurge while having nothing. She thinks it is funny.
Was 67,000 (mostly student loans) in debt when I started listening and incorporating his principles. A year and two months later I’m still 29,000 in debt never though I’d be able to pay even that much, it takes time but it works. Ramen noodles are delicious btw.
I was 67K (all student loans) in debt 3 years ago. It's now $17K. Staying consistent is key. Also you may wanna try some rice and beans sometime 😁 keep your eye on the ball. You can do this!
@@kramez9156 🤣.. Rice and beans with some fried eggs. Or pasta and sauce. All cheap alternatives. I am going to be death free this week. Only mortgage now. Stay strong folks. Keep the goal in front always.
I,
Congrats! Stay strong!!
Beans and rice with Mexican blend cheese on top is also delicious. My husband and I are debt free for over a year now but we still eat beans and rice once or twice a week because we like it so much.
I LOVE how honest and blunt he his. "That was stupid"
Sometimes too blunt.
Thank you Dave for helping people from inside your heart. Each segment of your video clip is full of life changing and all this comes from your wisdom and financial knowledge.
Thank you Dave. I'm learning from your callers what to do and what to avoid. Love you! You are a blessing!
