With all the sophisticated technology we have it makes me wonder why we can't smell things through the phone? Just a thought.
Because phones would need to have the ability to reproduce all the scents in the world. That would be impossible.
Your question got me thinking, i googled it, the technology does exist!! It has existed in different forms since the 60s. I guess it never got mass produced due to low demand
georgette And due to the fact that it was limited in its ability to reproduce all the scents in the world.
I mean, they would need a system in the phone that would connect with a video, game, etc. of literally anything. It would have to detect the scent they're talking about, and create that scent within the phone and have some type of opening for the user to smell it. And they would have to create any smell in the world so.. That would be hard.. And probably impossible.
Whilst the technology most likely exists, it would probably be incredibly difficult to implement to the point of it likely it being worth the hassle for the tech companies.
