I don't understand the hubbub surrounding Harley Quinn's "first" appearance in comics but as a finicky comic hunter I always wanted a first printing of "Mad Love"! I can't remember if I read about it in the then comic press or saw the adaptation later on television, who knows? I knew it was one of my faves and I still haven't confirmed if my copy is a first printing!

With the Nintendo switch announcement today capcom X-men vs marvel/punisher game releasing. Will introduce children/adults to the punisher.
Unless the MCU stops producing garbage, our key Marvel issues will trend down. Like, look at the abomination they turned Falcon into.

It's only a problem if you held the book. And if you never planned to sell, what difference does the change in value make? That being said, I do think they will recast T'Challa.

I think there has been too much speculation on "ooh, this character is going to be in the MCU, so buy it" and it has always led to drops afterwards. It looks like there's some of that going on now with Dazzler 1. Yes, a Swifty Dazzler would get attention to the character and who knows, maybe even another (likely short-lived) series, but she's not an important character. She's somewhere above Echo and America Chavez and below Moon Knight.
A lot of these books would see little to no movement if not for speculation. Not sure what that says about the market.
I have a bad feeling the next big bad is Doom, and they'll ruin him.

Comic book market is cyclical based on how good comic book movies perform.
Not really comics have been expensive since the 1990s. Of course they weren't as expensive as they are now but they are still expensive.

You should add a predictive line to the chart. Like a “Dave’s Long-Term Target price: $125-150” or maybe “Predicted floor price: $125” because it was fun to see what YOUR forecast looks like.
Ya that is just my gut feeling. I realize people like my prediction. But again it’s just a prediction. Doesn’t mean it will come true. No one knows what the future will hold. I can only go off of past data
Yes, I understand… but I think it’s a cool bit of information, to hear what a big dealer thinks about the future of a book or what they predict a “fair price” or “peak” a book might land at. Obviously it’s a prediction and uncertain, but it was cool to hear you talk about it in this video and might make a good addition to future videos or to your infographics.

I bought Punisher #1 in 2018 for $25 Canadian dollars and its still about that same price on ebay. It's not a rare book, I have all the other punisher keys too. Only one that is semi-rare is ASM 129
I don't think ASM129 is "semi-rare", it's just expensive.
its not rare at all. just testament to the demand. same for hulk 181. plenty of supply but demand is even greater. but as soon as demand wanes watch what happens to the values
@@jpm74608 Agreed, but then the question is, will the demand ever really drop significantly? It hasn't in many decades, which is why it's still one of the huge (and expensive) keys 50 years later.
Try a show called 'Mr Inbetween' Its one of the best tv shows i have ever seen. 3 seasons about a hitman.
BTW that Suicide Squad game w/Harley was so bad that the studio that made it was closed down

I think Lady Gaga will drop the value of that book. People are tired of famous weirdos like Puff Daddy, she kind of falls into that category. Maybe not idk, but she's no Margot Robbie or even close, fans may revolt.
Always a bad idea to buy a comic book solely based on Movie Hype. Buy the book because you like it, not because everyone is talking about it.

I haven't seen punisher in a 9.8 that low they all seem priced closer to 200$ for direct copies.
The graphs seem to almost always show that the trajectory of most of the books is what it would have been without the fluke-y 2021 surge.

Crazy how much that Spider-Gwen key has dropped. I remember seeing that one raw for ridiculous prices at LCS's back during the boom. Longer term I still believe that Gwen and Miles keys have upside but a lot of patience is required. The Spider-Verse movies were well received but until we see them in live action I think prices will continue to stagnate.
Spider-Gwen is fire. She's going to be the most popular female character in Marvel. That is where Marvel lacks way behind DC, lead female characters.
@@richardolney1822 No Spider-Gwen isn't going to happen any time soon. Secret wars is the next 'big' plan in Marvel future, but I don't know if even Tom Holland can save them Disney / Marvel from themselves.

@@melw2100 ; investment raises prices, that's why the average collectior can no longer afford major keys, thus damages the hobby.
Investment for investment purposes alone is fine, there's always healthy and robust trading to be done outside of dealers and people who flip purely for profit.
But you see those who use comicbooks as a cash currency will always lose money in the long run due to the fluctuations in the economic markets. Price too high and that book will not sell. Like for like the collector will always go for the deal that suites his/her pocket. Buy cheap sell high. Think of all the filler that will never reach cover price, these items find there way into dollar bins. The small guy always loses.

I disagree (somewhat) on Kang. I think Jonathan Majors did a fantastic job of portraying a growing and subtle menace in Loki season 1. I even liked his portrayal in Ant man, although Antman was always the wrong choice for his MCU launch. His legal troubles killed him, not his performance. Kang could have worked.
Funny how these terrible movies are destroying the market. Don't invest in comics.
This is a clickbait video with a misleading title holding incomplete information. Stop comparing books to their all-time highs in 2020-2021. That was a time with overinflated values. The only trend that matters is where the book stands now versus the beginning of the year.
I show that trend, from the beginning of the year to now, plus I show the year before and its peak. I give 3 data sets, that show an overall picture
