I got prefacelift 2020 mk4 ST and I must say that is awesome car. I put on Milltek exhaust, lowered it and put on some distancers. Now it looks as it should and sounds perfect. Trust me this car is not so slow, for me it is fast enough on stock map. Manual gearbox is very good and feeling behind the stering wheel is perfect. One of the best hothach cars for everyday use if not the best.
Same, but just maxton bodykit and mountune M330.
Currently got a Mk4 ST line and man this ST looks so awesome to drive as well. I can't imagine how well it'll handle, because my Mk4 ST line already handles so extremely well!

yes and you can order the TrackPack for 3700 euro than you get a KW v3 Coilovers, lighter wheels , pirelli p zero corsa tires. gloss black front grill/roof/diffusor and the brembo 4 piston breaks with 364mm discs

Nice video. Thank you. Nice car. I have an Orange Fury Mk4 ST, but mountune remap so 330PS and 515NM on the box, stock 280PS and 420NM.
It’s literally the best car for a car enthusiast, best sounding 4-cylinder engine, remarkable handling, it looks good AF and these seats, steering wheel, infotainment system. Love the Focus ST. Race car for streets. 🏁❤

This sound is fake :( From the 3,5th Gen they use it, it was in my 3,5Gen 1.5T Focus ST Line wagon (sound generator).

I sold my MK3 ST and bought an Audi A4 Allroad, great car but I miss the sportiness of the ST and I'm annoyed I didn't buy the MK4 ST.

The way the tachometer moves, the amount of lag when it changes the gears is amazing. When I say lag, I mean the refresh rate of the lcd. I think that lag was back in 2001 at BMW e46 ....

I know right? This bothers me to no end, and it's not the only car with this crap refresh rate. They showed a Corvette which had the same issue a year or so back.
Not "lag", it changes when you release the clutch and engage the gear like it should, its actually decently fast.
Remember when the Lexus LFA came out? It had to have a digital tachometer because the engine revved so quickly. Now this is the opposite.
I've got a golf mk7 with analog tacho and it works perfectly fine. Tbh I wouldn't mind a swap for an lcd screen, so I can have more info on the dash as well as the maps cause I don't even use the tacho meter. Not that I've never been at redline, cause that happens. It's more of a case that I can guess pretty accurately what rpm I got base on the throttle response, acceleration and sound. Once you know your car, you barely use your spedo and the tacho doesn't need to exist
@@mrfilax3214 it is not about the using perse. It's about the tech. If the car manufacturer put it there and it is laggy, imagine how other components are. That is the whole point, not that it bothers you or not.

Just ordered one in Frozen White with the Track Pack (Brembo’s, KW and Corsa’s). Gonna do a Mountune M330 tune to it to make the engine what it should be. Ford detuned it big time after 5000 revs. It’s the perfect fun car for every day.

Me and the other half have a 2023 facelift Focus ST and we also have a late 2015 VW Golf R. I'd take the Focus for everyday but for fun on the weekend I'll take the R!

Just with software you will get 330hp in the Focus ST. And you know how much problems the Engine is making in your GTI ? you are comparing pears with apples

Engine sound is really not that bad for a 4 pots but sounds a bit artificial or tuned ? In any cases, Ford has done a good job here.

Mk 4 ST is definitely better than the mk 3 ST was never really a fan of that gen, my favourite gen of Focus ST will always be the mk 2
So.. what is your criteria? Because mk2 was cool because of its engine and pretty bad everywhere else.
@@MyRealNamemk2 was not very good on tracks. But it was very good on far from perfect country roads. On these environment, the brakes were the only real downside. Engine was sweeeeet.

Yess, very annoying. You can switch is of via forscan. And the cabin transforms into a quiet place on highways :) I did it on mine, couldn't be better. And I have M330 on it.

A sports car has no need for such a large infotainment screen, I would prefer if it was smaller and tucked into the dashboard, not sticking out like that.

@@Funky1ism The way he drives in the video is very damaging. It always turns into the limiter. The FlatShift in the Fiesta holds the RPM at the same position even though you give full throttle. It's not good either, but it's better than what he made in the video. I have 36000km and used it maybe 3 times in 3 years. The clutch can handle that.

Its an ST. From 2011 the ST Petrol Engine has a Timing chain.

Yup. Ford Engines are notoriously underperforming, especially the newer Ecoboost types. Most don’t come anywhere close to their factory claims. They all seem to have 10% less power output than the number from the specs. Ford should be sued for scamming their customers. Some cars, the focus included, are still nice and fun to drive, but the engines suck big time. Their small 4 cylinder Diesel engines aren’t even their own invention. They buy them from PSA (Peugeot, Citroën etc.) LOL!!!

Hideous large screen that looks like a cheap aftermarket thing glued to the dashboard. it doesnt match with the screen for the gauges. Why are those build in the dash and the infotainment not.

Very underwhelming, it can barely crack 250 gps with 280 hp and it takes ages.. Chassis is this car's strong suit, the engine is just ok and nothing more than that.

The new Focus ST is a nice car, but way too expensive given the poor performance. I have no idea why American car manufacturers are always over promising when it comes to engine performance. I bet this Focus pushes 230-240hp on the dyno, at best. Poor power output and very bad aerodymanics are the reason why it can't keep up at all with a Golf GTI. It's a nice hatch, but not really attractive for people who drive a lot on the autobahn.
If the fiesta st is push 210bhp on the dyno I’d have no doubt this is pushing it’s listed figures

@@spongebob2204most Focus st and RS under delivered the power figures all the time. The Ecoboost engines are not exactly best in class. And by the look of this, this new one does the same. Slow compared to the rivals. A GTI Club Sport eats this alive. And I'm sure a manual Golf R can compete with the last RS without any problem.

With respect. I doubt you have driven one even own one. I can assure you you are very wide of the mark. I have had my MK4 ST for over three years now ran her stock for the first 1,000 then for a small (relatively speaking) gave her the uplift the standard car needs with a mountune re-map to 330PS 515NM on the box.
So the new ST is just as quick as my ST mk2 with the famous 5 cilinder? That’s no evolution… I reckon that the handling and overall feeling is way worse and fake (sound).

Take off your rose colored glasses. This car is superior in literally every way to the outdated mk2. You’ll know exactly what I mean when you get to drive one someday. The current gen is absolutely bonkers in the corners aswell, and even offers very decent drivers comfort, which is a big plus.
Impossible stock to stock. Even the head of Ford or some high up guy said that the new mk4 is faster(not from dig tho) than the RS mk3 because of better gearing and less drive train loss. So if ur MK2 is faster than ST mk4 then it's also faster than the RS mk3 which I have a very hard time to believe.
@@mattsson265ok mine in not stock runs at 290bhp with a bilstein b14 set. Runs 252 on the autobahn and sounds way better than this artificial sound.
A golf MK8 GTI with "only" 245HP eat it anyday...
Than i prefer to have a Car that makes fun instead of a boring MK8 GTI which costs +- 30k euro more and has software problems etc.

280 horsepower and 0-100 in 5.7 are the exact same numbers that my stock Astra OPC did all the way back in 2013. This Focus is awful, and the fake engine noise is terrible
