I have been a fan of The Suicide Commandos since I was 14, and bought their first album when it first came out in 1978. (Yeah, I'm OLD!) There are some serious gaps in this story, like how Chris Osgood started Twin Tone Records after the band broke up. Twin Tone records unleashed onto an unsuspecting and unprepared world Soul Asylum, and The Replacements. I'm a musician, and play the open mics in Chicago all the time, and I have been known to cover Mosquito Crucifixion in my sets. In fact, when I opened for Grant Hart, at his very last concert in Chicago before he died, I did Mosquito Crucifixion as an encore. (Grant Hart, for those who don't know, was the drummer for Husker Du, a band that probably wouldn't have existed if The Suicide Commandos hadn't paved the way for a punk scene in The Twin Cities) It is my hope and dream that The Suicide Commandos will someday come back to Chicago and play a gig for us old timers. Either that, or I'll travel to Minneapolis/St. Paul to see them, but I'd prefer the former. Either way, seeing The Suicide Commandos in concert is on my bucket list!

Sad that I missed this era of punk. Apparently they played Denver a couple times.
