I'd say Jerry's stand up equals and surpasses most episodes of Curb. And he's doing that solo. Larry's talent is surrounding himself with the right people.
I recently saw Jerry do a bit to a middleclass crowd where he talks about paying rent being a scam and when he figured out paying rent was a scam he just stopped paying rent and bought a house. Really connected with those folks. Behhhhhh.
Goldthwait is right about Seinfeld essentially avoiding controversy, yet defaulting to the same "personal responsibility" argument as any right-wing comedian, but Seinfeld was also right about Goldthwait's cheap stand-up persona. I never found it funny, but I do like his films.
Bobcat definitely didn't groom 16-year-old Nikki Cox on the set of Unhappily Ever After in '95 to be his concubine in '97. Bob would've been canceled forever if he pulled that shit today. Nikki Cox's life got ruined by "BOBCAT" when she was just a kid. She's a hot mess. The Girl Seinfeld was with is a suceffull designer and a happily well adjusted mother wife and adult decades later.
Jerry digging up an old feud that connects him to a cult is a weird move. I guess he's too big to fail, but if you read how he has responded to the Scientology stuff in the past it is clear he was more involved than "taking one class in 1975". The more I see of Jerry's actual personality outside of Seinfeld the more I wonder what kind of skeletons are in his closet. Incredibly low class to do it on his massive Netflix show. Even more low class to do it in front of Bobcat's friend while they were trapped by being on the show. Probably the last episode of that show I'll watch. It was awful.
He dated a 16-year-old when he was like 40. At the time, we all acknowledged that she had big cans, but that's not the same thing as mentally being an adult...

Every standup I’ve seen from Bobcat has actually made me laugh. Which is more than I can say for Seinfeld’s standup. Jerry was “funny by proxy” on his show, because he was surrounded by funny, talented people

Also, if one show is indicative how funny a comedian is in general, you should take into consideration the time that Seinfeld wasn’t getting any laughs at a college show, and then blamed the audience. He's not my favorite comedian, but he's certainly influenced comedy in some massive ways. And he's definitely more liked than Bobcat, which I think is a good way to measure a comedian's success. Niche humor is fine and all, and everyone can have their taste, but there's no denying that Jerry is more popular. And can we stop this stupid "Larry did more than Seinfeld" debate? You weren't in the writing room, you have no idea. I like Seinfeld, I think his show's probably one of the five best sitcoms ever made, I find "Comedians in cars getting coffee" very interesting and I even like some of his old material, as bland and as innofensive as it may have been, but he has this history of getting weirdly deffensive whenever someone says anything to him that even sounds like a critique, that makes me think he's probably a huge asshole in real life. SURE, Bobcat definitely didn't groom 16-year-old Nikki Cox on the set of Unhappily Ever After in '95 to be his concubine in '97. Bob would've been canceled forever if he pulled that shit today. Nikki Cox's life got ruined by "BOBCAT" when she was just a kid. She's a hot mess. The Girl Seinfeld was with is a suceffull designer and a happily well adjusted mother wife and adult decades later.

No idea who Bobcat is, but I think everything he said about Seinfeld is more or less on point. If you reevaluate what goes into the sitcom, you're just left with a pompous ass that's decent at stand-up.
Bobcat has written and directed multiple hilarious films.
I don't think he is a good stand-up but the guy that gave us Windy City Heat is definitely a genius.
