As someone that dedicated his final years of simracing (more or less) to learning THE most challenging circuit out there, it's an honour to be mentioned & referenced in this video! For anyone that wants to learn Targa, know that it takes about 60 completed laps to know where you're going (I believe Vic Elford said that, and it was almost exact for me), but I promise the reward of knowing where you are and what's coming up is SO worth it. Thanks again, Jimmer, I love you :).

One name that should be remembered with regards to the Targa Florio - Vic Elford. This guy was a Targa specialist, and apparently he was blessed with a photographic memory. One time, when he had to drive a distinctly underpowered and outdated Porsche, he was as much as an hour behind the leaders when it came to his driving stint, and he used all that knowledge of the circuit to such a devastating effect that he actually ended up winning the thing. To commemorate their race wins, Porsche would usually issue special edition posters featuring a picture of the winning car of a race, but that time the poster didn't feature the car. Instead it consisted of Elford and a few Porsche mechanics just after completing the race, grinning from ear to ear. The reason given by Porsche why they featured Vic instead of the car was that it wasn't so much the car that won the race, but rather the driver.

Id say people relate to you, and i enjoy watching because you treat races seriously, you are also good when interacting with other youtubers/streamers, id imagine alot of people like me have enjoyed watching your channel grow over the last few years especially, keep up the good work, quater of a MILLION next
Late to the vid but I hope you see this. Ayrton senna said something along the lines of “go karts are the purest form of racing”, although cars would be fun you get more a bang for your buck racing karts. You get wheel to wheel with other drivers and although it is perceived as basic they allow you to fully comprehend set up/race mechanics and physics. I’ve been racing karts for 10 years now and I can say it has given me some of my greatest memories and friends and I would love to see you create a series showing your Journey.
Don’t change a thing, Jimmy! Keep doing what you’re doing - It’s why I follow you in the first place. I’d rather watch and listen you on a Sunday drive for 40 minutes than watch most F1 races (and I’m a huge F1fan!).
Jimmy, have you seen the 1986 F1 cars for RF2? Literally the most powerful cars ever made. And they took them around Detroit, Monaco, Paul Ricard.... so so many places
When u were talking about people wanting to watch u drive. I subbed to u for the same reason as I subbed to supergt, the banter. That's the entertaining part.
Great video as usual Jimmy, probably the most humble youtuber out there. Great content as always and it's your mixture of serious trys at a lap and your being laid-back sense of feel towards it all that I think makes it amazing. LA Canyons is my Targa Florio, I spend a lot of time driving mostly street cars. The Porsche family is my favorite, with the RSR '74 and the GT3 RS being my favorite.

If there is a day i wake up and there’s not a Jimmy Broadbent video i know its gonna be a bad day. I don’t have many friends and watching your videos and streams and interacting with chato fills that gap and it makes things better. Keep doing what your doing jimmy you deserve all the good coming your way.
Jimmy, the reason why your channel struck a cord in me is the place where you come from. No, not physically, I mean mentally. Mental issues are somewhat frowned upon in my family. Growing up, if you had something wrong in your head, it was all just in your head, just make the bad demons go away and you'll be fine. Obviously, it doesn't work that way, and I learned it first-hand, I didn't have any really bad mental issues, but I can relate to you. Obviously, Jimmy doesn't show all the stuff in his life, but the things he has talked about having anxiety in public and depression have been fairly relatable, and i have went through the same things, albeit, at a less severe way. I love his passion for motorsport, and the genuinity he has in his videos, there are no fake personas, no fake emotions, no fake feelings. He's just a regular lad living in his moms shed sharing his passion of motorsport and actually succeeding at it, because guess what, he has a great personality. I found his channel at around 10k subs, I remember all the GT1-5 streams he did, I remember him hitting first 1000 livestream viewers on one of his GT videos and him going absolutely bonkers. I remember that and it inspires me that there are people who can get up from the very bottom and make a name of themselves in this world. I don't believe in miracles, but this certainly gets close to it.
Jimmer, I like you because you are just likeable, I feel that is why everyone in the community is a nice person to you... It's because YOU are a nice person!
Fantastic video! And this "ramble" Is great! It's fantastic to hear about your future plans, your thoughts about your subscribers and your channel growing. Keep up the great content!
So, here's a weird little story - I work for a company that sells IBCs (Containers), and we primarily sell Schutz IBCs. The founder of Schutz was a guy called Udo Schutz, who was a Porsche factory racing driver back in the 50s/60s, and he actually won this race in 1969 :)
Cool that someone is making this track for AC. I did a video of driving this in GT Legends about 5 years ago. I almost completed a lap but the last straight didn't have a barricade at where I was supposed to turn off and just looked like it kept going straight so I hit an invisible wall and totaled my Ferrari 365. The best thing about the circuit is the scenery though so without that it's not so great.
This reminds me of the Isle of Man's TT mountain circuit in terms of length (37.73 miles - not as long as Targa Florio) , scenery and going through narrow villages and stuff, Kirk Michael being one of them and Parliament Square in Ramsey being another, hitting the houses or coming off your bike in those sections of the circuit often resulted in death or serious injury, so yeah this circuit is similar even though you have 4 wheels as opposed to 2.
I'm from Sicily and makes a odd effect to me to see roads and mountains i see sometimes (i live about 60 km from where the Targa Florio was held) on a sim racing video from a British youtuber XD CIAO JIMMY :) you made a great drive in the Melbourne virtual GP!
Epic video. Jimmer targa florio ramble would be a great series! Really loving seeing the channel grow and you grow yourself. Looking forward to the future of the channel and seeing what 2019 brings for you!
i'd just like to point out the fact that you mentioned transitioning from sim racing to racing cars for real and filming it, just figured i'd say that i been thinking about it for a while as well jimmer, keep being awesome. don't let your dreams be dreams, JUST DO IT!!

And that version of the track was at least 1000 times better than this one! As I'm sure Jimmy is aware. This along with the Transfagarasan Hillclimb were my most raced tracks with my beloved crazy BMW Tii.
Watching this in April 2020 and loving that the motorsport plans came together in a BIG way. So proud of you Jimmer, onwards and upwards!!
Here I am, watching your video a little over a year later with 545K subscribers.
You've done well.
Rock on.
Id say people relate to you, and i enjoy watching because you treat races seriously, you are also good when interacting with other youtubers/streamers, id imagine alot of people like me have enjoyed watching your channel grow over the last few years especially, keep up the good work, quater of a MILLION next
I enjoy you content more then others i watch, your a genuine bloke and hope you do get into some real racing I'll definitely watch it
You should try the pescara circuit, it was considered so dangerously even Enzo Ferrari didn’t want to send his drivers there
Late to the vid but I hope you see this.
@21:50 "Transported into that... wall. Also this world." nice recovery jimmer, been here since the SROL F1 days, here's to a few more years yet.
Addicted to this channel the last few days, awesome content and gameplay and quality commentary
"I know where i'm going"
*GOES OFF TRACK*
It'd be a cool mini series, or even better if u could get someone to race u around it, battling on the hardest track
When u were talking about people wanting to watch u drive. I subbed to u for the same reason as I subbed to supergt, the banter. That's the entertaining part.
Great video as usual Jimmy, probably the most humble youtuber out there. I used to be an xbox sim racer but you honestly have re-ignited my passion for sim racing and I bought my self a pc and some pricey pedals.. but totally worth it. Anyway, I know a few people who do track days at Sebring, if you ever want to come join us please let me know! Congrats on your success and I wish you the very best🍻
I really like the casual format Jimmy, it's almost like a podcast with racing sounds
Jimmer you realise that now you have the double of what you had doing this video ? Really I'm so happy to see you grow like that! I just can't wait to see the million on your channel as I'm pretty sure it is going to happen. Wouldn't be amazing to see the Jimmer in an F3 ? Anyway I wish the best for you and your channel !
This dwarves the Nurburgring! I checked out the historic pics just now, I wish this will be added to more racing games for "casual sunday driving"!
This is the sim version of an afternoon blast at the weekend :) love it, love your thoughts and plans mate! I am watching this a year after it went up.. really cool to see the progression
Love the video, really relaxing watching you drive around Targa Florio!
oh wow it's an honor that you chose this track for your 200k subs video.
If only I found out sooner, I would've sent you the latest test build with all the trees and 3D cerda -___-
anyway, congratz Jimmer! always knew you were gonna go big!
Great content as always and it's your mixture of serious trys at a lap and your being laid-back sense of feel towards it all that I think makes it amazing. And besides what you called mediocre driving in this is still leveled up quite a bit from having to do commentary on top of it lmao Keep it up man great work!!
LA Canyons is my Targa Florio, I spend a lot of time driving mostly street cars. The Porsche family is my favorite, with the RSR '74 and the GT3 RS being my favorite.
man I agree, all cars love those canyon roads. driving heaven in the porsches. never gets old!
So much details in this game, even the "6" on the tachometer is represented like the real one not perfectly aligned because of the turning signal lights
I knew it had to be the targa florio from the title, I'm glad someone appreciates the beauty and complexity from such a course.
wish you’d do these more often, not as live streams, but as videos. driving podcasts.
Congrats on the sub count, epic! I'm sat here listening to your emotions that you experienced as the channel has grown, fixating on the analytics and absolutely realising I've been doing the same with my own channel. Its not a sim channel, its us in our 4x4s camping and off-roading. We just got over 2000 subs yesterday and it is such an exciting time even if it does pail in comparison to where you are. Keep it up Jimmy, its a really enjoyable channel and one I come back to every single time.
Jimmy. Your ramblings in this video show how humble you are. Don't change mate - Stay real.
Hey Jimmer! Been here since fake 30k, and just wanted to let you know that you are my favorite British shed man on UA-cam! Congrats on 200k, you definitely deserve it! Love you long time, and I wish you all the best!
Not sure about anyone else, but I would love for Jimmy to do more of these "real talk" videos on this track. A nice relaxed session on this track with different cars.
Thicc brit makes a thicc video to celebrate his thicc subscriber count
If there is a day i wake up and there’s not a Jimmy Broadbent video i know its gonna be a bad day. I don’t have many friends and watching your videos and streams and interacting with chato fills that gap and it makes things better. Keep doing what your doing jimmy you deserve all the good coming your way.
To 21:00 Jimmy: Congratulations on now being a Praga Cup champion
watching this video today hearing him talk about his 207k subs, he's doubled that now! Amazing and deserved!!!! Top lad!
aw that monologue was really wholesome. LOVE YOU JIMMER :D
Targa Florio! Jimmy, you're making us love you more each day...
I don't believe in miracles, but this certainly gets close to it.
watching in almost 2021, and youre almost at 3 quarters of a million, congrats dude
We had targa in Tasmania they used to stop at the school as one of the check points
207k subscribers.... Now at 467k.. Good on ya mate. This track is pretty awesome to watch.
I'm from Sicily and makes a odd effect to me to see roads and mountains i see sometimes (i live about 60 km from where the Targa Florio was held) on a sim racing video from a British youtuber XD
CIAO JIMMY :) you made a great drive in the Melbourne virtual GP!
Epic video. Jimmer targa florio ramble would be a great series! Really loving seeing the channel grow and you grow yourself. Looking forward to the future of the channel and seeing what 2019 brings for you!
How you talk for a whole video blows my mind, reminds me of the old days, would love more content like this
At 19:11 the British drivers would call that corner "back to Britain in a box"
i'd just like to point out the fact that you mentioned transitioning from sim racing to racing cars for real and filming it, just figured i'd say that i been thinking about it for a while as well jimmer, keep being awesome. don't let your dreams be dreams, JUST DO IT!!
Really loved this video layout, almost podcasty in a way. Stoked to see what opportunities arise in racing for you.
3:23 that punta taco is so satisfying
A little more than a year ago. Now he's got 604k subscribers. I'm so proud of this man.
This was so awesome to see, I can remember playing 80s games that were supposed to be this car, and now it's like, wow, look at what we're doing with simulators you can have in your home.
I'd love to see this a dual commentary, with Jimmy and another driver, two cars on the road, the odd casual overtake, just out for a Sunday drive.
3 months later you are almost to 300K!!! Keep up the great videos “slightly high in his chair because he’s on a cushion boi”!!
driving these kinds of sim tracks, pushing whilst not knowing where it goes, is the most fun i've had in sim racing.
Ahh man you got my subscribe after that convo. What a real content creator
Why you get so many likes and not so many dislikes? Because you are a humble, nice, funny guy. Relatable to normal people. And entertaining to watch.
