What a cool topic. One that is so rarely covered in the art community. It should be the default setting for African artists world-wide. Charity starts at home. No story is better to tell than our own.
It should not be the default setting for Africans. We should be free to do whatever we want. We are human beings with free choices like people in every other country. This "we must be like this" mentality is what is holding Africans back. Meanwhile westerners as a whole use whatever culture they want to make great stories and we watch and enjoy them. It's not wrong for Africans to make African characters but anybody can make anything. At the end of the day we are humans first before Africans.
Crazy how i was thinking about becoming an animator and then saw this channel 😅. UA-cam just knows. Love seeing Africans doing our thing in animation and other art related things. Gives me morale. W video. You might even become my first fav Nigerian/african animator❤🐣
Would really appreciate it if you shared some insight on character animations... All the same, I think your designs are fire 🔥 🔥 Much love from Ghana 🇬🇭
I love this video…. It’s aesthetically motivating….. from one artist to another and I enjoy the relationship with the character designs building upon Nigerian roots
@@uzomadunkwu1977 I have a suggestion if you are interested Maybe do a commentary style video where you talk about why you designed these characters the way you did. I'm also Nigerian so I understand why they look like that but others my not, so maybe explain why they wear the wrapa, give insight on some cultures that made you draw them the way they are, something educational so people have information if they want to do something similar, the video title did give a vibe of having educational purposes. That's just my suggestion, but I love your work and how it shows African culture. Great work indeed 👍
