    When I was ten years old, my mother dragged me to this play at a local high school. I went kicking and screaming because I didn’t want to go. Do this day, I never laughed so much and had thoroughly enjoyed it😎😂🤷‍♂️

    Wow those are some handsome dudes singing and dancing! Love the “long note” that comes before the Russian dancing. ;)

      @Olivia Harrell Some of the dancers are from the Jewish community in Anatevka but the others are from the Slavic/Russian population. So there is both Jewish and Slavic/Russian dancing. The whole point is that there is tension when the second group joins in, because the Jewish group keeps to themselves as explained by Tevye in "Tradition", they don't know what to make of the Russians joining in. At 2:03, that man is not one of the Jewish people in Anatevka, he's a Christian Slav, hence not having his head covered.
      I think it is easier to distinguish the two groups in the film version where the Slavs all wear grey and also don't wear hats unlike this version

      @@trevorlange yeah I'm not sure why the Russians are wearing hats.... I've done Fiddler three times, seen it dozens of times and this is the only time I've seen them in hats, especially ones like these...such an odd costume choice

      Yeah. They looked like they were in a Western, as did some of their dance moves.

    I think i saw Yentl in the background. Seriously, why are there women in this scene?

    The Russian soloist sounded terrible. I’ve heard high school kids do it better.

    Sound is really bad in that 'studio' .....shame why dont you guys get real sound people in there? In fact if you talked soft NO ONE WOULD HEAR YOU!

    I dont care fir it. The music in the film had far more... punch. It felt more robust and alive. This feels weak.

      It’s a Broadway pit vs full orchestra arranged by John Williams. This does great with what it has.

      @@TroubleLightCoasters doesn't change the tempo and rymth choices. Lol

    • @TroubleLightCoasters
      @TroubleLightCoasters 2 роки тому +3

      @@TheRealMediaMan It is literally the same tempo as the movie. Rhythm is very similar, it just sounds different because a pit is much thinner in orchestration.

      I completely agree...it feels"hollow" and my reasoning is bc:
      1) there are women as men in this (which makes absolutely no sense considering it's professional), and bc of that it loses... something.
      2) the Russian singing the solo is reeeeeeeeally pitchy so his voice loses impact...for a Broadway tour, this company is very weak.

    Well that sucked! What's with that awful and completely off base choreography?

    • @katbozues
      @katbozues Рік тому

      Right? And the pitchy Russian? And the Russian costumes are too similar to the Jewish costumes...

      i was talking to my friend with connections to someone from the production. This was a very weak company. Right from the start. This was a non equity tour.
