The problem with the SWA is a lack of resource, and the big companies don’t see it as an issue for them to worry about.
Once these cask investment companies get a hold of their own warehouses then it becomes really scary.
The government’s decision to remove Wowgr and Duty Reps, for owners of duty suspended casks under bond, you are correct will be hugely damaging to the Scotch Whisky industry and its reputation.
BTW Wowgr stands for Warehousekeepers and Owners of Warehoused Goods Regulations. It was introduced in 1999 so HMRC could see who was owning duty suspended stocks of alcohol in the supply chain.
Once it’s away there is no current barrier to anyone owning anything in a bonded warehouse.
Lawyers to combat scammers, irony.
This advice is worth more than any cask of whisk(e)y out there.

Tip: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn’t true. Never ever ever trust anyone for anything unless you know where the guy (or girl) sleeps at night. No one would scam you if they could be found in person and have their necks rung. If you don’t hold it, you don’t own it.
Scams are driven by greed on both sides. Phishing is one of the biggest problems that we face. People do not scrutinise there emails before giving the keys to the castle.

Investments will always involve risks.
I have never had insurance in my life unless it is required by law. Many people have shaken their heads when they hear that and ask why I dare.
My answer has always been: I don't play Lotto, either.
If I wanted a whiskey barrel, I would fill it myself and store it myself.
When “buyer beware”, upon which all investments rely, becomes a predominant ethos in an economy, the law has failed. Or, depending on your viewpoint, is working just as it’s been designed. Because of all the scams out there, _the most dangerous ones are those which are perfectly legal,_ of which there are many. In turn, this becomes part of the economic culture, and then scamming and fraud flourish to unprecedented levels to the point of being a normal part of everyday life. Then everyone just dunce-shrugs and accepts it all as natural. Which it never ever was.

Im a bad person ive had a lot of fun trolling some of these whisky scam companies. Some want a mere 4 k for a 7th fill cask of Spay whisky 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Some guy thought he would sell me cask of Bushmills for 9 k. He really thought i was for reall. Had some fun 🤣🤣🤣

My question is -- we are a group of friends, who want, just for us, for our own, not for profit, to buy a cask of whisky. We chose a distillery, but... how to choose an actual cask? Where to start? How to start? Can you give any advice on this?

By the way what is your opinion in comparison with Ardnamurchan and Raasay distillery? I know Ardnamurchan doesn't have a cask for selling last year Raasay representatives came to Campbelltonw whisky festival in order to offer cask. What is your personal opinion with your vast experience? One more time thanks a lot for supporting,all the best 🤘

Great video insight, curious about the cask you purchased. If you paid 3600 pounds, how many bottles would a typical cask produce? I inquire as to markup/profit a typical cask to bottle cost
. . . about 220 to 235 depending on losses from evapouration.
Is there a list of reliable cask purchase sites?
Governments regulations are the whorst thing that ever hapens.
We need to avoid the State always.
I don't think I'd ever buy a product that I'm not prepared to take possession of.
