But Thanks for showing how to Zip it in case I want to try some newer version and roll back!!! Glad to see that Monterey is also still the Minimum Required OS, because it also works perfect for me and do not want to install any newer OS yet either..

UPDATE: Today, 9/21/23 I learned from your tweet and elsewhere that the Apple website stated that the Mac OS system requirement of 12.6 was a mistake and the App Store has it as 13.4...not available for my 2015 MacBook Pro.
Matthew did you know that the Canon Log LUTs FCPX auto applies are wrong? I film on C70 and R5C with CLOG3, cinema gamut just as you do. Try downloading the utility LUT directly from Canon. Then open your waveform display and note where the shadows fall with the FCPX version. Next go into the settings panel and load Canon's LUT as a 'Custom LUT' and BAM your shadows should drop a little bit. Same on CLOG2. I'm not sure what's going on but I have to change the auto-loaded LUT on every clip from my Canon cameras!

You are correct. Apple apparently has not updated the Minimum System Requirements info on the webpage they link in the Release Notes for 10.6.9. The App Store, however, states that FCP 10.6.9 is compatible with macOS 13.4 or later.
Hey matthew for the past month i've been having an issue where if i pinch zoom in using magic trackpad on my timeline, it zooms out (like 2 out of 10 times). Since you use the magic trackpad too, are you having the same issue ( macos ventura 13.5.2, fcpx 10.6.6
Someone has probably said this already, but what a sneaky way to show that Apple is still (at the very least) concerned with FCP, by making the Apple LOG LUT essentially only usable with FCP.

hey Matt i dont know if apple contact you directly for some new.updates that might make a difference. but can they add features that clients actually request day to day. None of my clients care about log or lut or stabilzation rolling shutter. they care about getting the job done quicker. if fcp had auto caption we would have a lot more videos on the fly. if fcp a ruler and guide feature would be easier to make uniorm content. so many things that creatives get hired for but fuinal cut want to add an ipad version and fuji lut. like come on its giving lets move to premier pro because final cut dont know workflow means. the app is beyond shit now but we are here
CORRECTION: Final Cut Pro 10.6.9 is compatible with macOS 13.4 or later not macOS 12.6 or later as shown on Apple's system requirements website. The App Store states the correct system requirements. If nothing else happens, 10.7 may be released in conjunction with the new M3 devices next spring, and will only adapt to new machines and fix known issues. No new features. If so, FCPX is dead.
Well, we'll definitely get a 10.7 to coincide with the release of the VisionPro that enables editing Spatial Video and editing in FCP with the headset. Will there be major updates beyond that? I have my doubts. I don't know that we'd see any serious AI tools in FCP from Apple directly until they deploy AI in their operating systems first. I think they're going to leave the short-term AI stuff up to 3rd parties and let a few years go by before they swoop in and do something that really blows our minds. Just like they did with mp3 players, iPhones, the Mac, watches, etc.
Still waiting for that futuristic feature that no one has seen, but only heard about, I think it’s called auto captions. Might be wrong, could be just a figment of our imagination. I don’t think the M2 chips can handle such computational power.

Pinch to zoom / zoom out is working perfectly on my Mac Studio running 13.5.2 / 10.6.9 with a Magic Trackpad 2. Will check my MacBook Pro soon...
