    ‘We’ is not the same as ‘all of us’. A significant number of people are autistic. And those of us who are, don’t use laughter as a way of encouraging social reciprocity, don’t (or more usually can’t) simultaneously talk while also communicating non-verbally. But instead communicate directly what we feel, what we think and what we want, which more often than not results in a backlash because we aren’t using such non-verbal behaviours as most people clearly do.
