I appreciate how this mod makes Pelican Town a much greener place by giving a bunch of new and old characters farms of their own, but tbh I don’t really like that there are all these other farmers around, makes me as the player character feel less special for being a farmer. In real life I’m not good with plants or hard labor so farming or even gardening isn’t gonna interest me, but as the player character that’s the role I’m given to play and it’s fun to play that role regardless.
From a realism point of view, it makes sense, Pelican Town fits the bill of a loose-knit rural village, where most people own at least some agricultural land for home grown veg, or for actual industrial farming. The player character eventually fits that big industrial farmer bill by the late-game so it does distinguish you with that
I feel the same way. I love the added detail to the town and new areas but I don’t like how so many more farmers are added cause it makes my role as a player feel really insignificant. It’s definitely more realistic, but I like the classic ‘hero’ role. It also bothers me that they added so many new npcs and only one POC. You’re telling me that in a town of like 30+ people there are 6-8 redheads (Robin, Leah, Penny, Vincent, Sandy, Maru, Jodi?, Elliott?) and only two of them are related (Jodi, Vincent) but only two poc??? I mean come on it’s just embarrassing at this point…
@@charliegreen7988 And specially Maru portrait being the only ugly one. I've seen the previous iterations of her design (Wiki), and she used to be gorgeous, now it's just a bottom tier choice. Damn.
I definitely do think there should be more poc characters and I'd assume theres mods for both expanded and vanilla stardew to do that, but I will say the red head thing could make sence, maybe the Ferngill republic is like Ireland and just has significantly more red heads
dude, this makes me wanna buy the game on steam. i have the base game for switch, which i adore, but the lack of romancable characters that fit what i like is not really all that great. I kinda want the mod just for Olivia and Sophia now haha
This is bar far one of the best mods I have ever played with any game. It feels like i am playing stardew all over again. It captures that same charm of the original with only enhancing the game without ever taking anything from it. It really is stardew, expanded. At the time, there was no gingerale- but there was this wine that would provide a +2 luck buff. This would be at the cost of being drunk for a short period of time losing speed- and losing your ability to enjoy coffee. +1 speed, or +2 luck. You have the option and each is better in certain circumstances. Now, we have gingerale providing +1 luck buff and is harder to get. Obsolete, right? Well, no- this provides no debuff and on top of that removes the nauseated effect. And on top of that, if you make it with QI seasoning- it'll provide a +2 luck buff being equal in every way without the downsides while being more difficult to aquire to make them each worth while. Levels and levels of balancing between items to make sure each is never made obsolete. Then we have the fancy wine, +7 luck buff. Throws that delicately crafted balance out the window. Its price is somewhat exorbitant for the early and mid game- but late game its meaningless and makes everything else not worth having. This is my biggest and only gripe with the game, I just tell my players that its use is banned- except the one you get from friendship with sophia. And voila, perfectly balanced. ^_^
This is a bit of a spoiler, but the two Joja employees will eventually return to work at the movie theater and you'll be able to continue getting hearts with them eventually. The only one who never comes back no matter what is Morris.

I wouldnt mind her as a regular townie but a farmer? Thats just ludicrous, no way a person who constantly bemoans her fate and plays video games all day has the maturity to keep up a whole vineard. Genuinely shocked at how popular she is
"...It's kinda more realistic that way, if you think about it. Stores like to keep the area them clean..." Have you been to Walmart? Those places are usually a mess. Joja is effectively Walmart in terms of how they do business. They show up, offer lower prices to wreck main street, and then cut corners massively to save money.

I played Stardew Valley shortly after it released and loved it but never went back to it until a week ago. I've been playing it like crazy and really enjoying everything they've added in updates. Definitely gonna have to check out this mod out after I finish my unmodded playthrough
I married Claire (the ginger haired cashier at Joja Mart) but chose Community. She ended up working as the cashier at the cinema. Plot twist: Gunther actually was a racing team manager, with slight difference in his name to avoid being recognized. He was famous for his trademark phrases 'fok smash' and 'bunch of wankers'. I happened to know Sophia up to 10 ❤ turns out she had a very tragic background that involves medication. Sounds silly but, if you happen to marry her, you can divorce her better not, since it hurts her more. Suddenly Stardew Valley gets darker with her.
I absolutely love this mod. I chose the Joja route when I learned Morris runs for Mayor. Then the mod added even more to his character that I will not spoil here.
You and Poxial gotta be my favorite Stardew CC's. Keep up the work and thanks for making videos like this, i'm pretty new to modding so this is alot of fun to watch!
I’ve seen playthroughs of expanded, and while it looks great, I was overwhelmed. I’m sure you just scratched the surface here, but you make it seem much more accessible!
I would really recommended SVE with Ridgeside. The amount of content makes you still stay for another year or so towards perfection, even if the mods help Y1 progression faster. Even when you think you have done it all going into Ginger Island. You have Caldera and Lance that they keep adding upon on
My only issue with that mod is that the map is so big now that getting around and going anywhere takes up half of the day? Can you recommend any added mod that would enhance the speed of walking permanently like you seem to have in the video? Thanks for the tour!
I remember trying this initially a year or two ago and being impressed by the technical aspects of everything that got added, but being put off by the extra dialogue the author added. They wrote everything in a very different style than the base game's dialogue and it was incredibly off-putting. If that has improved, I'd like to give it another try.
I just started modding my game... I think this is possibly all a bit much for me to start with! This is definitely something I'd be interested in getting at a later date though! Cheers for this!
6:30 Actually, Inflation and Expansion are exactly right. Inflation is the "Expansion" of the Currency Supply, or "Inflating." Both words work. Some try to claim it's raising prices, but that is a gross misrepresentation of what Inflation is. Rising Prices is a Symptom of Inflation, one of it's results, but that isn't what Inflation actually is. Inflation literally is the Expansion of the Currency, printing more state issued banknotes. Being Banknotes are a commodity and fall under the rarity value theory, the more you make the less valuable each note becomes, that is why Inflation leads to Rising Prices. Of course some like to say it's rising prices because it helps mask what causes Inflation, which is the Federalized Central Bank, in the USA that is the Federal Reserve who issues all the currency. For example, why is Inflation so bad in 2021/2022? Because in 2020 and 2021 the World saw massive shot downs of business and the economy in general, while also seeing massive spending increases. With all those business not making money, the state earned less taxes, but the states of the world also had to keep spending, they had bills, they had welfare programs that needed to keep rolling. Many states issued money directly to their citizens to help them because the State put them out of work, like in the USA. All that money had to come from somewhere, it wasn't coming in from Taxation because the state had wrecked the economy, dramatically reduced it's own revenue. So, make more currency, throw state issued banknotes everywhere. I remember by the end of 2020 one economist warned that Inflation in the following few years could be as high as 30% as the USA almost doubled the currency supply in one year.
Yes, yes. Thank-you for this! But did you know that congress actually passed a bill that not only raises the debt ceiling once again, but allows Inflation of upwards of 60%?!?! yes it was the 34th addendum, or “rule”. Don’t believe me? just google “Inflation rule 34”
One problem I could easily see running into is the time it'll take out of the day to walk through areas now. With the space ballooning so much, you have less time for activities in a day and spend more time just walking
@@hi28 With all the basework mods you install to get this mod working, one of them is a cheats menu where you can easily just set your speed to 2x-6x all the time. It's the first thing I do when I turn the game on, hahahaha. It's really choice.

Funny story, when I tried this mod, I named my farm Fairhaven on whim. I was so confused when I met Andy.
When they said "Drink it up losers, this character is for you," I died a little inside.
I died laughing
litterally the thumbnail is what got me here, what do you expect
She's a precious bean and I want to protecc her forever, she's also got some tragic backstory
they?
@@charismatic9467oh god you can’t even use a basic pronoun without summoning your type.
Nice video.
But about Gunther: he only becomes a giftable NPC after you've donated 60 items to the museum.
The crate that was behind Clint’s is now behind the Community Center in the fenced off area on the right. So you don’t lose that secret statue.
There's also VERY Expanded which I'm currently playing through that adds a whole other village you get to by getting on a gondela. I think Claire lives there
Ridgside village?
@@GoatMilkCookie yeah tho I'm sadly mistaken as she doesn't live there
Half of the mod is gameplay updates, the other half is essentially “go! Be bisexual!”
Damn.
I definitely do think there should be more poc characters and I'd assume theres mods for both expanded and vanilla stardew to do that, but I will say the red head thing could make sence, maybe the Ferngill republic is like Ireland and just has significantly more red heads
what the fuck is a poc
The number of updates this mod had received over the years insane. Many new NPCs and areas have been added since the beginning.
Hi, im thinking about getting this mod but idk. Do you mind telling me whether or not it has more character customization options>
A rusty sword...hidden in a forest...isn't a BIG deal? Sir! I must remind you that the Master Sword was "just a rusty sword" lost in some woods!
My first thought was that Secret of Mana starts with finding a rusty sword in the words.
dude, this makes me wanna buy the game on steam. i have the base game for switch, which i adore, but the lack of romancable characters that fit what i like is not really all that great. I kinda want the mod just for Olivia and Sophia now haha
If it's any comfort, I have three copies of the game, and I'm pretty sure that's pretty common lol
i hope u got it lol i have it on both switch and pc. pc for mods, switch for vanilla and my bedtime routine
Yeah, wait for a sale. Pretty sure I bought SDV on Steam for like 5 bucks.
You can also modded the mobile version, afaik.
@@nibblesnarfer yes you can but the available mods are outdated versions and a lot of mods are outright not supported
So making friends with him is pointless, what do you get out of it?
@@shanelawrence7438 if you go jojo mart path he doesn't go away. Also just for fun? Making friends with most npcs does almost nothing, but most people do it anyway.
@@kellenbailey4761 Well, you do get gifts in the mail but not from the SVE modded characters except the heart mail gifts. But yeah, won't do anything for morris.. WELP, PEIRRE, HES ALL YOURS!
@@shanelawrence7438 I don't make friends with the NPC's to get stuff (except maybe recipes) I do it because it's fun and interesting to see their heart events and get to know the character.
@@shanelawrence7438 While you're befriending Morris, he sometimes hands you "discounts" (mostly gold bars for me) when you talk to him, so you do get things out of him, if that's important to you.
"Aand if you go back here she actually has an added shed... where she actually is at right now"
OF COURSE SHE IS
If there is one thing this game needs, it's another place for Marnie to be that isn't at her shop.
man everything about this game both modded and unmodded community is great. glad i got this game on the switch on a whim, this mods really tempts me to buy this again on my pc
I was totally into this mod and then he said my dilf daddy was romancable. I really feel like Rasmodius SHOULD have been romanceable to begin with but the fact that he is in this makes me want to finally get a PC just for him.
Both Clair and Martin (Martin sometimes come to the museum to read even after jojas shut down) comes back, they work at the cinema so you dont need to get their hearts up before completing community center it just takes longer since you hav to wait till you done the missing bundle quest
this mod is really fun! im on the younger side of the player ages and yet even im a little uncomfortable with how sophia is written as a character. kind of giving manic pixie dream girl vibes but thats just me, i still enjoy the mod and its cool additions
Does all this added space make it harder to navigate through time wise?
@@Chronically_ChiII a little bit i guess, especially for the forest sections if you dont know where youre going, but there are shortcuts around the maps to make navigating more convenient :D
Shes more like a manix pixie nightmare girl tbh... for the longest time all she does is scream and hide from you and then the majority of her heart events is "boohoo im so sad leave me alone" which is very normal and def a behaviour a farmer should have. I wouldnt mind her as a regular townie but a farmer? Thats just ludicrous, no way a person who constantly bemoans her fate and plays video games all day has the maturity to keep up a whole vineard. Genuinely shocked at how popular she is
You should do a let’s play with expanded 🥺
100%
"...It's kinda more realistic that way, if you think about it. Stores like to keep the area them clean..."
Have you been to Walmart? Those places are usually a mess. Joja is effectively Walmart in terms of how they do business. They show up, offer lower prices to wreck main street, and then cut corners massively to save money.
Wow, I've heard about this mod but I wasn't aware how much it actually changes the game. I just have to find out about the new romanceable characters so I guess I'll download it later xd
Adding the extra farms makes sense. Everyone is growing something in a farming community
Suddenly Stardew Valley gets darker with her.
>you can divorce her better not, since it hurts her more
To be fair that happens with Sebastian too
I believe Gunther actually says "he does not fok smash my door"
“You can romance the wizard” SIGN ME UP.
I absolutely love this mod. I chose the Joja route when I learned Morris runs for Mayor. Then the mod added even more to his character that I will not spoil here.
This just made me want to try the expanded mod!
Don’t forget about new farm layouts too!
Her and the other cashier actually work at the movie theater if you close down Joja, I love this mod and play it a lot
I’ve played vanilla Stardew for about 300 hours, was never really interested in mods. This made me download SVE, and I love it!!
I remember trying it way back and finding it added a bit too much for my tastes.
Though now that it's more polished it doesn't seem as jarring.
You and Poxial gotta be my favorite Stardew CC's. Keep up the work and thanks for making videos like this, i'm pretty new to modding so this is alot of fun to watch!
This mod adds so much that I can't bum rush all of it over a weekend with a 10 pack of cider. Is good
I’ve seen playthroughs of expanded, and while it looks great, I was overwhelmed. I’m sure you just scratched the surface here, but you make it seem much more accessible!
You just blew my mind lol "Oh farmer Bubba" out of nowhere haha
I would really recommended SVE with Ridgeside. The amount of content makes you still stay for another year or so towards perfection, even if the mods help Y1 progression faster. Even when you think you have done it all going into Ginger Island. You have Caldera and Lance that they keep adding upon on
Thanks for the showcase!
i genuinely was on the fence until "the wizard is romancible" SIGN ME UP
My only issue with that mod is that the map is so big now that getting around and going anywhere takes up half of the day? Can you recommend any added mod that would enhance the speed of walking permanently like you seem to have in the video?
Thanks for the tour!
I remember trying this initially a year or two ago and being impressed by the technical aspects of everything that got added, but being put off by the extra dialogue the author added. They wrote everything in a very different style than the base game's dialogue and it was incredibly off-putting. If that has improved, I'd like to give it another try.
I think it kinda has improved in the last few updates
I just started modding my game... I think this is possibly all a bit much for me to start with! This is definitely something I'd be interested in getting at a later date though! Cheers for this!
It's a pity the mods are no good on the Switch ed. as there was a huge spike in sales of the game when Nintendo offered a free weekend for it.
I feel like Andy and Pam would make a nice couple!
Don’t believe me? just google “Inflation rule 34”
a sad day for switch players such as myself! this mod looks so cool, i'm considering buying the desktop version just for it, haha!
i ended up buying stardew on PC just to try some of the mods, totally worth it imo
Get a 64gb steam deck, can mod it just like on pc
@@MilliGaming86Really? How so? And what's a 64gb steam deck?
They really need to make stuff like this available for console players... Alot of us would even pay for some of this stuff as dlc
Those Joja npcs from out of town do come back with the movie theater if you close down Joja
One problem I could easily see running into is the time it'll take out of the day to walk through areas now. With the space ballooning so much, you have less time for activities in a day and spend more time just walking
is there a mod that makes you/your horse faster ? there must be
@@hi28 With all the basework mods you install to get this mod working, one of them is a cheats menu where you can easily just set your speed to 2x-6x all the time. It's the first thing I do when I turn the game on, hahahaha. It's really choice.
The gnome was real nice
2:56 well. The most important addition to the game.
I want a mod where I can date every single villager, especially Lewis
12:11 *(chefs kiss)* Perfect summary
I deadass thought he was gonna be like hello internet welcome to your daily dose of internet, due to the tone and shot lol
You had me at "romanceable MILF"!
Hey that’s where it had me
that's it, I'm sold
Would this be safe to download in the middle of a coop playthrough with my wife without messing it up? We just unlocked ginger island. Would we both need to get it?
Hey, I know the SVE mod expanded the Joja route and I was wondering what route should I take?
Side question, is it possible that you can complete the bundle THEN purchase the joja membership in the same day thus unlocking the perks of both routes?
I don't think so! But if you have the knack for coding, you can unlock some places exclusive for community center route if you go joja (not the other way around it seems)
The One Thing I really like about this Mod is that you can Romance a MILF in your Area.
Exactly,
I forgot to mention that if you have a rabbit's foot in your inventory when you date both Victor and Olivia you'll have a different event just like dating all the bachelors and bachelorettes.
just finished vanilla and reached the summit, looking for mods to bring me back into the game later on, this one looks really good
My favourite thing about SVE is that nothing feels out of place, it all just feels like Stardew Valley to the point that after using it for long enough I forget what was modded and what was vanilla.
A thing that just happened to me

"WHY ISN'T IT WORKING???"
*realizes I forgot to download the actual fucking Expanded mod*
It sure adds a lot, yes. Is there a lighter version that doesn't go all out? I like the expanded vanilla and some of the map changes, but I think it's too much.
i just got into the secret woods and honestly i never want to leave, it's so beautiful 😍🍄
In the original game, the secret woods was my favourite place, I always wished there were more things to do there. SDVE is a dream come true to me. ✨💚
Me, playing SDV on switch: PFFF who cares if I can’t use mods, I don’t need them

Thanks for worrying me about Clair’s six heart event. I’ve been playing this with the item spawner and I could’ve completed the community center already if I didn’t want it to happen on Morris’s birthday.
oh god, Sophia. lol. Yep, definitely added to be a competitor to Abigal as the queen bee gamer girl.
Queen Abigay? Lmao
Man, I really wish I hadn't watched this. I came back to Stardew recently, and decided to play vanilla. About 2 years in, but now I want to restart to play SVE. I've dabbled in it before, but played it after another long playthrough so didn't really have the motivation to get deep into it.
the most interesting thing to me in these mods is about all the cute characters.
like "omg claire is so beautiful im gonna marry her".... but then there's sophia got me 😳
man why do people like sophia more than claire, im sobbing 😭
@@kit_chen_ben Sophia is literally a child. the secret statue is somewhere in the town it’s just been moved.
Yeah
Not sure why you listed Shop Tile Framework, SAAT, Extra Map Layers, and Custom NPC Exclusions as requirements, they're not. The rest are but if you launch smapi and play expanded with just those other ones you won't run into any issues or bugs. The content is all there and it works fine without that other stuff.
This is a 2 year old video, it was required when this video came out.
8:19 well, he does show up at the movie theater occasionally
This sounds like a great mod. Quick question, can it be added to a current save file or would it have to be intstalled onto a brand new save file?
technically you CAN add it to a current save but it's strongly recommended that you start a fresh save for this mod, otherwise you gotta do a lotta complicated file management to get everything working properly
Brand new, unless you don't get the new farms, but you'll need to take in consideration that you won't be able to switch back to a modless run on the same farm, since the mods that are requisites for SVE change some fundamental stuff regardless of the farm you choose.
The forogueman statue thing is in the fenced area to the left of the entrance to the mountain area
Man, everyone is a farmer now.
This makes me want to go and download the mod right now haha. But I'm still on my first ever playthrough and I'd want to start this mod from the first day and there's still so much I want to do on my current playthrough
I sometimes think that concernedape sees these expansion mod and feels like a dad watching his son growing up and becoming something that he wasn't able to.
I have a save (around end of year 3) have achieved pretty much almost everything. do I start a new game for SVE or just apply it to my old world? like does it really matter if I don't start new? thanks I need some insights
Glad you're back, sad the comments are gone
If you sort by newest they’ll all still be there, weird, but better than nothing I guess
I was like 300 hours into Stardew Valley when I realized Penny WASN'T the cashier at Jojo Mart 😅
i like to watch these while playing stardew valley
Now I want Stardew Valley on my laptop just to play this mod.
I had a heart event with Morris that said he was getting a promotion for such fantastic work, or something like that. The next day I completed the CC and ran him out of town. I guess his promotion wasn't what he thought it was lol
Big Fan Salmence, have been watching your pokemon lets play since 2020. Always love watching your videos. Thanks for the awesome content.

11:59 Is that supposed to be Catan on Sophia's living room table?
Yup, it is
