The Way We Were, un film de excepţie, în care găseşti iubire, politică, mari actori:
Barbra Streisand (Kate Morosky) şi Robert Redford (Hubbell Gardiner).
O poveste de dragoste tulburătoare, cu întâlniri şi despărţiri. Ea este inteligentă, serioasă şi implicată. El este un băiat frumos, aparent superficial, căruia îi place să îşi trăiască viaţa fără prea multe griji. Mult mai târziu, omul de televiziune Hubbell şi protestatara Katie realizează că între ei există încă iubire, dar că suferinţa şi diferenţele sunt prea mari şi nu merită durerea.

Redford did not want this part when it was offered to him because he felt the character was too shallow. Robert Redford is the exact opposite to a shallow human being.

Il aurait été dommage que robert redford refuse le rôle car alchimie est parfaite entre Robert et Barbra et le film est magnifique
Le réalisateur a modifié le personnage de robert redfort en lui donnant plus de force de caractère et c'est très réussi.
Le film fut un succès.
