This helps me a lot seen that I'm training to become a gastroenterologist in the future. I'm in the 8th grade and look forward to a future empowered by my love for science
I have psc. A mri did confirm that. A liverbiopsy can progress the psc. Only when there is maybay an other liverdisease....aih....they will performe a biopsy. Otherwise there is the fibroscan to see if there is any liverdamage already. After a livertransplant it is possible that the psc will come back...I take Ursodeoxycholzuur what keeps the bile softer and running.
Not all people with PSC demonstrate symptoms when they're diagnosed and it's very much possible to have a healthy liver biopsy when diagnosed. Also, at the end, you make it seem like there's treatment options for the disease, but as of now, there are none. Nothing will stop the root cause of the disease from progressing. In some cases, a liver transplant can cure the disease, but it's very much possible for it to come back after transplant.

Matt Sezer so I’m fucked ?
Thanks for pointing all that out because the reality is better than giving false hope..
Jamie Monaghan so am I
You're right. Some expert suggest that some people somehow have activated an autoimmune attack on their own Liver and/or bile ducts.
