“We don’t want to treat the patient unless they have an infection” perfectly summarizes everything wrong with the way doctors tend to practice medicine in the United States. You have to be borderline dying before a doctor will even entertain the idea of taking you seriously. Never mind that my gallstones cause the worst pain I’ve ever experienced in my life multiple times a month with the excruciating pain lasting hours at a time. Trying to get it addressed essentially equates to me forking over a $40 copay to have a doctor tell me to eliminate fatty foods and “come back in a month if it still hurts” when I explicitly told them I’ve been dealing with this for 5 months already ☹️ Whining aside, this is a fantastic video, by far the best one I’ve seen on this topic so far. Keep up the amazing work!
