Never heard of Disparu, but being a born and bred west country lad I know the Wurzels, there were quite a few times in my youth when using the lyrics in this song as chat up lines got me into a few haystacks 🤪 oh the good ol days of picking hay out of yer pants!!😂
June the 12th 1976 was my birthday and I was living in the UK that year before returning to Australia. Was only 10 yet remember this song well…the summer of heat waves and water restrictions sitting in pubs on canal banks and this song playing in the background, Dad buying us kids a shandy and a bag of walker chips with the little bags of salt in them….
Combine harvester was one of my favourite songs as a kid growing up in the 90s. I had a "combination songs" cassette tape that had it on and I remember asking for it to be played at one of my birthday party discos when I was 7-8 years old. I'm now 30 years old and still love it. I've only just recently discovered other songs by the wurzels and love them too. Also only recently read online that Adge Cutler died so young, so sad! RIP Adge ❤ My Dad is a (retired) musician and used to be in a rock band called Agnes Strange. He also has the nickname Adge (Alan). He thinks combine harvester is great! Such a catchy tune!
This song will always be a part of me as I grew up with it constantly playing.Mr Rowe, you taught me a lot about this group and I never forget.I miss you lots wherever you are.Always in my thoughts.....
Great God,I haven't heard this since I was about 12...a friend had a 'Greatest Hits' record back in the 70's,or 80's,I think. Popped into my head, the other day, and, here I am...wish I knew where my friend disappeared to...I'd send him this, and mess with his mind a little bit.🤣
Disparu played the Wurzels when he heard ghat rings of power wanted Tom Bombadil talk Cornish. He olayed small parts in 3 or 4 videos and now the Wurzels are worldwide beloved.
I had to look her up and found out I hadn't heard her song since the early '70s when I was a little kid. I didn't know who she was until now thanks to Disparu. Rest in peace Melanie. 🙏
The Wurzels owe their revival to the man named… DISPARU. But those are just my thoughts, what are yours? Leave your comments below. Like the video if you like the video, and I’ll see you in the next one. Buh-buh-bye!

We are the Disparu army!
my dad used to sing the chorus to this a lot, and it was only last week that I learnt it was an actual song. and it's as great as I expected.
I'm still not sure if this song is a series of euphemisms, or if it's actually about farming.
it's a spoof of 1971 a song called "Brand New Key" by Melanie Safka.
And it’s both!
For fk sake. Everyone here got sent by Disparu?
Yes!

Country woman here, I grew up listening to this band in Gloucestershire in the 70&80s!! My granddad thought they were hilarious! ❤😂
