Hey thanks for watching the video!
3:47 why is that cows rear legs tied?
She was weak then split, those wobbles keep that from happening again
@@saskdutchkid I comment on your video on UA-cam today
@@saskdutchkid I’m curious why you didn’t put your place on the Farm? Like the better internet town offers? I hear Starlink is good, not sure if it’s available in Canada or not.
@@saskdutchkid Another thing I was wondering in PETA’s scare vids they always show Pus in the Milk how wrong is that video? Obviously you test the Milk for Bacterial content so I doubt that’s how it really is.
@@saskdutchkidahh that make sense!
the only milk at Canadian Standards is Canadian milk, Every dairy farmer in North America takes pride in their operation, but only when you purchase Canadian milk do you SUPPORT CANADIAN DAIRY FARMERS. When my family and I ran our retail Grocery Store in Saskatchewan from 1962 to 1988 it was always with pride that we sold a good clean wholesome product and we purchased from the Saskatchewan Dairy. We supported local Dairy farms and Farmers in that way. I hear milk and other dairy products imports are cheaper but in my opinion the Quality and Safety and SUPPLY are much better in Canada where the milk is free of contaminants/chemicals/poisons when Compared to Imports. BUY CANADIAN/SUPPORT OUR FARMERS and keep our families safe/healthy
I don't believe our milk has poisons in it .....
Every time you stick a needle in an animal you're using some type of chemical......
Milk & meat held back till all medications out of animals. STANDARD animal husbandry practices.
@@phyllishalley8972not entierly true, maybe to extract blood for the animals benefit, if you have an agenda against food production then please keep your views within you groupies
Milk is a bunch of chemicals. For example, it contains lactose and dihydrogen monoxide.
My memory back in the early 80's was that the receiver jars were all glass. They had floats in it like the one shown. I used to watch the milk go up and down in the jar. Seemed magic to a 5 year old.
Hi everyone, dairy farmer from Pennsylvania... about all the same for us. Hope that you're all having a great week leading up to Christmas!!!
I've been watching your videos for a while now. While I need low prices as I am disabled. I see the blood, sweat and tears. The energy and love your family puts into making milk. You truly do not get the worth for what you put in. I worked on a small dairy in my youth. I drank milk right from the bulk tank. I can say with absolute conviction, there is no comparison to what we get from the store. It is creamier, sweeter and way yummier.
being disabled doesn't mean you can't afford a safer better quality product
@@handiman5001 Think of a disabled person as a car with one flat tire. Theoretically you can move, you can get around but your not going to function like a car with 4 fully inflated tires. Being disabled means my income is extremely limited. It does mean I can't afford safer better quality products because they will typically be far too expensive to fit into my budget.
@@ygrittesnow1701 I am sorry you are disabled much like so many others including myself, (who used to function like a 4 x4 but now even my 2 wheel drive is sketchy -- 2 canes/a walker/a wheelchair and have to use Oxygen) the difference in the price can be made up by saving in or on other items, milk products contain many items required for better than average health and I would rather skimp on something like canned items substituting smaller sizes or cutting down on prepared meals but injesting Chemicals I don't have to is not in my book -- I learned my lessons years ago Do not skimp on veggies, milk products, meat, everything else can be juggled
@@handiman5001 Unfortunately it is difficult to purchase raw milk. In my area we are relegated to buying what is available in the stores. I do buy milk and I try to eat fresh veggies as much as I can. Things that can't be juggled are rent, utilities(which can skyrocket during heating and cooling times). I am still in the process of applying for disability. So for the time being I am dependent on a friend who has graciously been helping me while I wait.
@@ygrittesnow1701 Or another option is visit a dairy farm and drink the milk direct from the Tank dairy farms have as their Tanks are full with Raw milk.
Those ladies need a mural on that wall they stare at while being milked! Great video as usual😍 Thank you
A video of cows frolicking in a meadow awash with daisies anf bunny rabbite
I watch on a 50 inch flat screen. I noticed the clarity and light improved as soon as you started the video. Have a Merry Christmas everyone. It looks like for the first time in awhile Canadians from cost to coast will be having a white Christmas.🌲☃️
First off Jan...Wishing You and Your Family A Safe and Merry Christmas! As for the new camera, I'd have never known IF you had not mentioned it...I am a Proud Knucklehead! 🤣I knew someone before me would ask about the Cow's legs being in "cloth shackles" so I checked out the comments and got my answer! Very Sweet of Miriam to give Miss Cheetah "A Push In The Right Direction"! Really appreciate you explaining the process of many of your Milking Operations Jan! I can't help but SMILE when I enjoy my milk knowing a Family of Friends up in Canada made this possible! My Cereal Salutes you all Too😂 Thank you as always for saving me a seat on this ride! Cheers and Blessings From COW-lumbus, Ohio To You and The Fans! MOO
I have seen many of your milking videos that was very good. Thank you for taking your time to share it.
So much respect for you and all farmers who provide. Thank you ❤
I watch the Hoof GP and I've learned a ton about hoof care. I would love to see a video all about how your family farm cares for your cow's feet!
First time watching your videos. You did a great job of explaining the procedure from start to finish. Thanks for taking the time. That’s one impressive set up you’ve got.🇬🇧
Jan God bless all of you that feed us. I cant say enough how you bring back memories with my dad and mom farming families are the best.
Hi from a not-so-balmy St Petersburg, FL USA. I love that you "cow heat" your cow barns and that your cows are so carefully prepped against bacteria that can cause mastitis. I love to see the cows, such amazing animals that eat grass to produce milk. Merry Christmas from Florida, and happy New Year.
it surprises me how quiet it is , when i use to milk you could always hear the vacuum pump , i always had a Radio on when milking too , as it was a bit more calming for the cows , the best parlor i milked in was a 7/14 parlor and that was fast , 180 cows in 2.5 hours start to finish
Well done Jan. Informative. Thanks for everything you do and done producing quality dairy for us CANUCKS . Wishing you and your family a MERRY CHRISTMAS and A HAPPY NEW YEAR 👍👍👍. Thank you for sharing. Be safe🇨🇦
Jan, What a daily day at the dairy with two milkings. The work is hard but rewarding. You are young and that helps to maintain the dynamism in the number of tasks. Have a Merry Christmas with your family.👍🎄🎅
Found it interesting that you put a filter in for the post-milking wash cycle. I don't believe that we ever did that on our dairy farm when I was growing up. The new camera did a fine job.
I can't get enough of the scraping of alleys with the skid steer. Soo satisfying
Your video was crystal clear could hear you very crisp. So your new camera I think you said new camera is working wonders. Thanks so much for providing use with healthy Canadian Dairy. 🧀 🥛 🍦 🍨 🧈. I hope your family and yourself have a very Merry Christmas 🎄 and all the very best in the New Year.
Hard working family! God bless and Merry Christmas.
Crystal clear video
Wow what a great video I’m really starting to understand milking more thanks for teaching everything about milking I would love to come and try milking sometime on that amazing operation you have PS I think your new camera is more clear and better quality good job bud
Great video Jan! Nothing better than milk straight from the tank I drank it for a good many years! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year sir!
Great video! It is clear that you know what you are doing. Thanks for educating all of us knuckle-draggers :D
Thanks for the detailed view of your milking routine
Jan - We enjoy watching your videos. I milked cows to earn money in college and can relate to some of the things that you share with us. I especially admire the condition of your cows and the work that you put into maintaining your equipment. On average, how many lactation cycles do you keep your cows for?
Really enjoy hearing about the cows. I know raising feed is very important, but it is ultimately all about the cows and showing updates of their lives is interesting.
Jan God bless all of you that feed us.
very informational.. thank you.. stay warm and have a Merry Christmas.
Camera is more crisp and clearer. Good upgrade!
Thanks sir am really learning
Would love to see a video were you discuss milking twice a day vs three times a day vs volunteer milking systems. Milk Production, Cow Health, Labor Increase.
Merry Christmas Kielstra Family

Yes I do yan happy holiday to you and family God bless you all hope you're family get some rest. Peace
Hey man just watched your video today and I learned a lot. I’m about to start my career as a dairy farm worker here in manitoba. Thanks cheers 👍
Thanks so much for the wonderful video
Love the new camera! Super clean and crisp images with realistic colours. Thanks!
I enjoyed watching this and thanks for sharing. Have a nice safe day!!!
Amazing video Jan! Interesting and informative! Seems like the new camera has more clarity under all light situations with much better contrast and improved definition. Good camera! Thanks for the video! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
I would assume the milk parlor has some form of line heating to prevent milk and water line freezing?
Milk comes out of the cow at body temperature. (Which is over 100° F, or 38° C) They have a cooler at the end of the line, which cools the milk before it enters the milk tank. The milk tank is also refrigerated, to cool the milk further, and maintain it's temperature at around 34° F, or 1° C, until it's picked up, and taken to the milk plant.
Cam looked great! Nice job as always!
Excellent explanation of the functioning aspects of a milking parlor! Worth crying about Candian spilled milk, Classic!
Would love to see Dima’s pet cow again
Extremely clean work👌
Good milking, working hard and goodvtake care of beautiful cows 🐄 and merry Christmas 🎅 🎄, Jan. 👌 😉🚜❤️
12:36 I love drinking it straight from the tank too, and I wish Canadians still had the option to buy unpasteurized milk 😢
Cows sure notice when anything is different, like a camera in view.
Thank you. That explains a bunch.
Awesome video looks very clear good job
New camera looks good great milling video always love to see the cows get milked
Great video, i really enjoy watching your videos and look forward to seeing them.
Was wondering what do you do with water that goes through plate cooler. We do maintenance for a dairy farm, milking a thousand cows, we run plate cooler water into tanks and used for cows.
Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Love the new camera. I can see the difference. It looks great on my 8K tv.
Way back years ago i use to go to a farm get my milk fresh out of the tank nothing like it .Well done guy's great video
Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Excellent video, thanks for sharing. I’ve had a few hoof repair videos in my feed; is that something you use on a regular basis or only when you notice a cow has issues?
Thanks for sharing your vid with us

I've been watching your channel long enough to get my fill of cow milking!
What we need is an update of the jack knifing, tractor tire shredding of the hay hauler!!??
Very good video thanks for sharing
The clarity of the videos is better , but I think the cows want to try 🤗🤣

Camera is AWESOME!!!
Very interesting! Thanks
Nice clear pictures with the new camera 👍sounds great 👍,in central Alberta it’s-30 or colder, how’s your weather 🤔.
How do you call that flushing system you have in your cups in between cows? I'm farming in new zealand and have never seen it before. Does it prevent the cows from cross contaminating mastitis as well?
" It's worth crying about if it's Canadian milk " Best line ever !
So interesting Jan
Love the new camera! PS you've got amazing teeth!!
Love the new camera.
First time I've seen your channel. Enjoyed it!
