Hey thanks for watching the video!
What a great video. Outstanding. Wonderful to see these outstanding Dutch farmers at work. Fine people hard work, calm cows all lead to a product second to none. THANKS so much for sharing Jan.
Cows look clean ! Laying in poo 😅
my name is Zakhmi Hussain country Bangladesh
I want a job in your form ❤
Growing up in Ontario and driving around the countryside one could always tell a Dutch farm because of its cleanliness and tidiness. Your farm and this one are true to this observation. Very proud dairy farmers.
Thank you so much to the dutch farmers! It is great to see this farm!
Hi sir
You have a knack for finding very good farms to tour. John seemed very relaxed and so it felt like we were watching two good buddies just sharing a conversation. I watch my videos on a 65 inch 4K TV so I am able to notice details someone on a tablet or smartphone might not notice. When you were up on the second level I immediately noticed how calm, content and quiet that barn was. Glad you mentioned it. You must absorb some new information on every one of these like the silage, never though of it but it makes total sense to layer it. Great video, one of my favourite farm tours so far, you always set the bar pretty high. Thanks.👍
I really love the simple calf barn set up, no transportation needed. Generally the farm is great, am glad they think about the welfare of both visitors and the girls.
Extremely interesting to get a look at farming in a different place. I would point out to the younger farmers out there to look at how efficient the Dutch are with use of both technology like the Milker Bots and their use of space to maximize productivity. John and the other farmers in this video are obviously very educated and experienced professionals. What would be on the grocery store shelves in Europe without the Dutch farmer?
Cows are far more intelligent than they are credited for. It's always nice to see how dairy farmers really care for their herd and even individual cows.
You can see Indian cows on my UA-cam channel.
Excellent video of their lovely dairy farm. Loved the drone shots. Beautiful home. I was wondering if they also had horses for making their own bedding. The upper platform/office area is a great view of the herd. Good reason for John to be proud of the work they're doing. They know their cows well and take great care of each one. I like their use of 'necklaces' for the ladies. My first look at the self-propelled Strautmann Feed mixer. Very cool! Appreciate John and the other gentleman giving the tour of their grand facilities and herd. Thanks Jan!
Jan, this is the farm you all should emulate. I love the robots. I love the solar panels. I love the manure bedding. You guys could free up a lot of time with those robots. ❤❤❤❤
Great tour. Seems each farm has a slight twist on the operation of their farm.
120,000kg of milk is insane. amazing operation
Jan, great video! I like seeing the different ways that farming is handled in various places around the world and you do an excellent job of showcasing them. 👍
Thanks for sharing your trip Jan! 👍 What a pleasure to watch your trip and learn with/ from you! My husband and I are of Dutch descent as well!
Amazing video. It amazes me the different types of equipment they have in Europe. Very beautiful Farm
And it's really different in each country - not only many technologies were developed here but agriculture in general started here for good and that is why we had so many serious wars over the centuries - farmers will fight for their land, we cant just run away and be moved somewhere else.
Very cool video!
Makes me proud that I can say some of my ancestors came from Holland !
Dutch Pride!💪
Great video thanks for taking us along, very nice people
Very nice 👌 set up and very contented cows amazing jan 👏 excellent to see ,
without a doubt those by far r the calmest group of Milking girls ive ever seen congrates to that farm the animals overall demenor is a great testament to the overall care given to those cows
What a wonderful tour! Thanks Jan!
Looks almost exactly like your farm. I don’t know why I thought it would be any different. Thanks for taking us along.
Thank you all for the wonderful tour I truly enjoyed it .
Love hearing from different cow farmer's thank's enjoy your videos
My goodness those cows are mellow! Great tour, Jan of a beautiful Dutch farm.
Great vid, Jan. Informative and clear. Nice to see you relaxing a bit.
Hey that looks familiair!;)
Thanks for visiting Jan!🐄😎
Wow, what a great farm and so clean. Love seeing tame cows. Do you ever take what you learn from the farms you visit and implement it at your farm? Thanks for the video.
That’s a unique feed wagon, and the way it loads. Amazing that the Dutch people speak English almost like it’s their everyday speech. Enjoy the video, stay safe.
Loved it, thanks a great tour
Great tour of the farm.
Nice to have you back Jan missed your videos
I've seen those loader/feeder machines on vids before, but they are superb- leaving silage faces like that, loading stuff on the floor like chopped straw, or root crops, brewers grains (beer grains waste in UK is in high demand) and so accurate, taking a lot of inaccuracy out of the job due to the way it all works. V good farm, superb Holstein cows, excellent care of them.
I enjoyed my visit to Holland, such a beautiful country.
Yeah, but sooo flat.
Very good nice to see what farmers from other countries are doing ,I helped build a barn for a family from Holland .No plans just what the father was telling us what to do .They were asking a lot about our tools and ways we used them .They were great to work for and good to take notice every time i drive by anyway great video well done sir Jan
This is brilliant. Much respect to the Dutch farmers
Great tour and great you go a vacation too it’s hard sometimes so glad for you
@SaskdutchKid.. Thank you but please pay whatever it is forward to someone in need. Keep up the good work
What a calm set of cows. Thanks for sharing . Very interesting.
Loved the video. Always interesting to see other farms aand countries. Thanks Jan.
Very interesting. Thank you for the video. Good job.
Thank you for this Dutch farm video. 👍👍
That's the most enjoyable cow farm I have seen yet. It looks like the animals get treated exceptionally well not to mention their equipment...
Thanks Jun, for the ride along. It's really interesting to see the difference and the similarities in dairy farming from farm to farm. What I see the most differences are the bedding, the different farms come up with some ingenious ways to make the herd comfortable.
Aloha from the Big Island 🤙🏼 🏝
Very interesting and informative thank you Jan
The feed processor is something I haven't seen before.
This unit saves on the need for front end loader or bobcat to add feed to mixer.
What amazes me is how clean the cows, calves, robots, floors and everything that should be covered in poop is nice and clean, very well looked after and the cows are very calm.
This has to be the quietest dairy barn. Content Cows
Love that they have sprinklers to cool down the cows in the heat. Very forward thinking in regards to climate change.
Thanks for sharing your trip with us. One question....how old was that cow?
the old cow is born in may 2011 she´s almost 12 years and produced 122000kg of milk an 10,000 kg fat and protein.
That's awesome. Thanks for the answer :).
This must be where The phrase Happy cow was first said, these cows look awesome!
Not a single happy cow in this operation. Cows are supposed to be outside not living in a small space covered in there own shit
@RGK147 that's because it was processed in the bedding.
awesome video, Jan. thank you
Wow that’s sweets thanks for another awesome tour there what a great setup
What a great feed cart
Weer een leuke video Jan. Nice video Jan about this dutch farmer. Great facility for these lady's.
Hey Jan, great interesting video, now we can see how they work on a Dutch farm 💪👍
Mooie video Jan! Great to see you featuring my home country. I see a lot of similarity between farming in Canada, the USA and Europe.
Only 7 km away from my small farm, very good farmers and managers great video again .thanks Jan, Guus en Bert
Thanks for the tour and all of the explanations, John! The solar array surely saves you some money - we’re finally starting to see more and more of them on farms where I live (almost in the exact center of the US). Interesting theory on the silage; it actually makes sense and is not something I would have ever thought about. I wonder how long it will be before we see that happening over here? Next summer, Jan, maybe??
Great video. Cows look great!
Very informative. Interesting bedding
The way they got the silage from the pit was a great way to do it.
Gracias
Te fuiste de vacaciones !!!!! Y sigues trabajando
He ido a Holand pero no he visto farms gracias
fantastisch deze video van een Nederlandse boerderij, leuk dit alles te zien bij Jan en bedankt voor het delen
Those Dutch producers really know how to treat their cows so they produce high quantities and quality milk !
That was so interesting. My Dutch husband watched it with me.
So are there predominantly Dutch farmers in Saskatchewan? What tires of cheese does they make. I worked at a cheese factory in Wisconsin that made a lot of Gouda, Muenster, Farmers, and Chedder. But I'm surrounded by factories that make quite a variety of cheeses. But over the last 20 years the cheese factories & farms have gotten huge.
Jon.
Thank you for the visit to other dairy farms. Many folks do not know how or where their food comes from. Have gotten the answer that all food comes from the supermarket.!!
Very well done, great video
Hope you had a great time in Holland. From the imperial county California 👍👍🖐️🇺🇲
Great tour. Thought I was at your farm at first. Very familiar. Thanks.
I really like their feed mixer seems that is so much quicker then a loader and tractor to pull mixer/feeder.
hi my Dear. Really looking so beautiful fram.
Great video how long have you been there haven't seen much of you lately.
Extra special! Very informative. Thanks.
Very interesting to see how it is done in other parts of the world. I really liked the loader/feed wagon combination.
I like the Lely exos a bit more .
Interesting operation. I was surprised to hear that they mix "horse manure" in with the straw pack for bedding. I have seen that type of feed wagon on most European dairy farms, with the self-contained loader & truck, no need for a bucket loader. to load the feed wagon. To me that seems more efficient, but there is the added cost of a piece of costly equipment that has only one function on tjhe famr. Thanks for sharing 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Most small or midsize farms use towed feedwagons behind a yractor but on the bigger farms and contractor you see these selfpropelled more often
very interesting contrast in methods
leuke video om eens boerderij in Nederland te zien!
Great tour. Thanks for sharing. The mixer truck was great. I’ve never seen one of those. I wonder why they aren’t popular or available in the states?
I like that all in one feed wagon and it must save a ton of time not having to drive back and forth with the loader
Very enjoyable. Thanks
What do they use to keep the alleys clean and to push the feed?
Lely juno
Good video.
I am big fan love you
Wow such an amazing informative volg totally enjoy it immensely. So fascinating thanks for taking the time to share this with us. Again thanks for sharing your time and life with us 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩😍😍😍😍
So Jan, if you had your choice on your own farm, would you like to milk with robots or are you happy with the method you’re using ?
Am wanting to move to the Netherlands... hell watching the videos from Canada make me want to move... 😀
Great video
Thank you…that was very interesting!
Thank you for showing the Dutch farmers on your channel I apprieceate it
Sorry if i spelled it wrong
... I like the layered silage bunks..... nice innovation...
Jan, would your dad consider going to the robot milkers in the future?
Hello Jan, nice to see some vids from the Netherlands....in what part of the Netherlands were they located?
good video I would like to know how milking is done? if these headers hurt the cows and how is the milking process? big hug
Seems a stress free tidy farm
But so tiny! Only 100 hectares.
Wait, you're Canadien and he's Dutch... but you're Jan and he's John? Great video!
Such a great video
SOLAR PANELS Jon ! You have to get with the program! You have all that room on your roofs !
Those cows are just do calm !
That food mixer was just so cool !
he did not tell you that doc kaas is part of the german dmk group as seen on the sign standing in front. european dairy is very special.
LOVE YOUR VIDEOS CANADA MAN
Awesome. Tell the farmers in NL I said wassup!
Did they have any cow brushes, if they did those cows would be really chilled out.
I wasn't sure you were doing 'farm tours' on your vacation. That was very interesting and so educational! I know they are part of a 'group' for the milk 'sale' but I assume that was a father/son family owned farm or is it leased land, group/corporation owned? Is that an average size of farm in 'hectors' and size of the herd in the Netherlands? Jan, how many cows on your family farm are 100K producers?
The average farm in the Netherlands milks around 105 cows and farms 50-60 hectares
The average farm here in the Netherlands is around 110 cows and 60 hectares. And the dairy farms here are privetly owend or by a family but also some farms are leased. And about the Milk coöperations, as a farmer you are a member of the Milk coöparion and as a member you are also coowner of the coöparation.
@@thuurspatjens9895 Thank you so much for the informational reply!
@@egbertjanemmens5432 Thank you so much for the information! Amazing to see the advances with robots. By chance do you know the % of dairy farms using them?
The percentage is over 30% and is growing.
Mostly by the family owned farms in combination with the
Lely exos
Or the Lely kitchen system.
