They do make them, as well as loads of other miniatures. I don't think that was a stock item used for the commercial, but your mother probably could've found you as good or better. Once in a while makers of products will either sell or give away promotional miniatures, so for all we know if your mother had asked American Standard or Sexauer or Kohler, they might've had them.
C &H Cane Sugar- I wish that jingle was longer. It was so catchy. SunMaid Raisins- That boy's baseball cards must have not been worth much if he's so willing to trade them to that girl for a plain old box of SunMaid Raisins that his parents could've bought for him.
I'm guessing the PSA ad was used in several cities they flew into as I saw this ad on a Joe Sedelmaier commercial collection where the man asked "When's the next plane to Phoenix?" and the rest of it went the same. The lady in the Biz ad is Beverly Sanders, who would go on to greater fame as Louise in Arm & Hammer ads through the 80s!
That Popeye 50th anniversary party must've been one wild friggin' blowout...Wow man, Shelley Duvall was gonna be there, plus all the spinach you could eat...What more could a landlubber ask for? "Well, bloooooow me down!"
This was the time they revised their square "5" logo (1977-81) to be silver plated, still a model. While the "M4ASE" open dates back to '77 with the transparent model titles with a chroma keyed video display...
It's ironic that there is a commercial for Popeye and the Annie musical in the same commercial block, as it was Annie that led to the creation of the live action Popeye movie. At the time, Paramount Pictures was trying to buy the film rights to the Annie musical, but they eventually went to Columbia. After they lost the bidding war, Paramount went through their own archives to figure out which comic characters they owned the rights to, and eventually came upon Popeye, which led to the Popeye movie with Robin Williams, which was a musical. I don't know if a Popeye musical makes sense, though, as the cartoons were built around the characters mumbling.
24:16 - "Oh, Jimmy..." The way she says it and how she's patting it in her hand, she looks like she's going to club him over the head with the toothpaste...
Wow; one of the longest volumes I've seen in a while. 1:16--Despite the reference to Hawaii, back then I thought "C & H" stood for the same thing that those letters stand for on faucets--LOL! I only later found out that it stands for "California and Hawaii." 2:16--I am not familiar with Numero Uno pizza, but it looks good. 4:53--"No nibbling!" My mother sometimes bought the "flavored" chips because they were cheaper, but when I saw commercials like this, I would get a little upset if they weren't REAL chocolate. 5:23--A great Toyota jingle that I had pretty much forgotten about. 7:56--We don't have Albertsons-branded stores here in Iowa. I always thought they were a drugstore chain--probably because they owned Osco Drug here in the Midwest until it was sold to (and rebranded as) CVS. 9:36--I would have been watching "The All-New Popeye Hour" on CBS around this time. Those were newly-produced cartoons from Hanna-Barbera. I know this references the live-action Popeye movie with Robin Williams, which I am also quite fond of. Incidentally, MeTV is now showing the original Popeye cartoons (produced by Paramount in the 1930's and 40's) as the first half-hour of their Saturday morning cartoons block. 13:08--"We're American Airlines, doing what we do best." They later changed the jingle to "Something special in the air." 14:38--I remember singing the "Tomorrow" song from "Annie" in elementary school music class. 16:08--I had an obsession with the "REAL Seal" on milk products back then. 18:15--I have previously commented on the aspirin/pain reliever wars, and yes, it seems there were airline wars back then too. 18:50--Wasn't this just a year or two before Natalie Wood's tragic drowning death? 19:21--I watched Wild Kingdom back then--and for some strange reason I thought I remembered it being on PBS. Apparently not. 21:10--What ever happened to Fresh Start detergent? 23:10--I love the use of the "BZZZ!" for Biz. 24:24--Back when they were trying to convince us (falsely) that Zest wasn't really soap. 25:09--I think Swanson's pretty much invented frozen TV dinners, but that brand has all but disappeared (except for pot pies). I think some of them are still produced under the Hungry Man brand.
I can't really control what ads get played. If any content on these gets matched it will have ads placed on it, guaranteed. Get UA-cam Premium. It's worth it.
5:32 the “Corolla tercel” was one car? I’ve only ever seen corollas and tercels as their own car. 16:37 the milk commercial saying “be sure it’s real” … was fake milk an actual concern in the 70s (like it had been decades before prior to the FDA?).
The first generation Tercel produced for the U.S. market borrowed the Corolla name because it had been successful here. Eventually it was just sold as Tercel.

My dad a ‘79 Riviera when I was a kid. I loved that car. Great memories of childhood…..
I loved the smiling PSA planes when I was a kid, the first time I ever flew was in one of them. Good memories... 👍
12:38 I like how the fade-in implies that the Sani-Flush lady was grooving to the music from the bumper.
You hit the jackpot! Lots of good commercials here!
Awesome Upload. I always show my mom all of your uploads. Thank you for continuing to upload.
Whoa, memory unlocked with that Zest commercial! I remember asking my mom if we could buy tiny bathtubs like that for my dolls. lol

It's crazy to think those babies in the diaper commercial are about my age, as I was born in June 1978.

5:42 - Little did those girls realize, the Toyota held the soul of their dad, who had transferred it into the car in an unholy ceremony...
😂
Ah, ‘79, the golden age😸
This was the time they revised their square "5" logo (1977-81) to be silver plated, still a model. While the "M4ASE" open dates back to '77 with the transparent model titles with a chroma keyed video display...
Pretty cool to see KTLA before they became affiliated with the WB (now the CW).
7:33 - Judging by his face, he's planning to toss her off the plane midflight...

I really do wanna go back though …badly

The Loves commercial made my heart happy.
I never went to one of those, but I do remember the location in Rosemead. I heard it was very nice.

The PSA Airlines ad was made by the same guys who did the old FedEx and the Wendy's ads in the early Eighties...
That crushing moment when UA-cam 2020s cuts in and you are jolted out of golden 1979 by a crappy modern ad.

@@80sCommercialVault Thanks. I love this content. I just miss the seventies, and the contrast with today is marked.
9:38 - I would gladly wear that shirt in public.
Parade Marshals Robert Wagner & Natalie Wood.... Uhhhhhh. 😐 And that Chutes Away game looks really cool!
Thanks for reuploading these breaks. The original channel that had these up appears to have gotten the TOS axe.
wow they were really roughing up that dude
