In this video, I'll be explaining how to set up your page layout and build a template for your piano-vocal score in @dorico 5. This is great for musical theatre composers, writers, and music departments, but it can also be used for songwriters and anyone who needs a good layout for piano and vocals. Feel free to customize your Dorico template as you see fit for your music project and situation. There will be many more videos like this one outlining Dorico tips and tricks as more Finale notation users make the switch. If you have Dorico and sheet music preparation questions, feel free to express them in the comments section and I'll try to answer them! #dorico #musicnotation

Great video. New to Dorico after 10+ years with Finale.
As one of the many Finale users being forced to transition to Dorico-and watching a ton of videos-this is one of the best I've seen. You managed to pack a lot of info into 19 minutes and it applies to more than just musical theatre. Much appreciated.
You're welcome!!
So so good. Thank you. Just being introduced to the software for musical theater. Will keep watching.
To add text to an overlapping text frame - Click the frame in question, then click your TAB key until the control points of the frame are deactivated. (i.e. they all are white squares) Then click ENTER to add/edit text.
Great stuff!
Thanks for doing this, Kevin! As a new user of Dorico, this is a big help for me. And I have to say, you really have a talent for making instruction videos like this 🙂
You’re welcome! Glad I can help in any way!
