This song was inspired by a very dark time in my life. Most days, I woke up feeling dead inside. During some of the worst days, I fantasized about self-medicating and wondered if drugs would help ease my emotional pain.
One night, I had a nightmare where I was tempted into taking a pill. In the dream, I ended up paralyzed in a hospital. I woke up in a panic, afraid that I was going to die.
I think I had this dream because it was my subconscious telling me that drugs would probably make my life much worse, not better. More importantly, it was telling me that I still had the will to live. After all, how could I be scared of death if I was truly dead inside?
I wrote this song shortly afterwards, to remind myself of these revelations.

"6 couldn't be worse" That's the part that hits hard because not expecting something to have consequences, and doing it, but then realizing it has consequences is always the worst, and it's scary.
Or when you know it has consequences deep down inside but convenience yourself that it's fine, it can't hurt, there doing it and there fine, or something like that. 😢

As someone with addiction in the family this song hits close to home with all the times I've felt like misusing the medication prescribed to me. I've never done so and still avoid it out of fear I'd never come back from doing so. This song is perfect representation of art from a darker time and I hope you were able to get out of that low. This song is awesome . I loved the lyrics . The way in starting he remember what man said and later how he just couldn't clearly remember what the man said . He just took them without consequences like he don't want to be here ,he just want to relieve his grief and hurt . At the end we know he wants to be fine and he added meaning of 5 and six pills himself. We all can just think what's happened next and how he is doing whether he is fine or not ?Whether he got what he wants ? Love this song 😇

Found this song as a nightcore, and I usually check the originals (especially from artists I don't recognise) and God it's just as beautiful as the nightcore version, but a tad better, because you can really hear the emotion behind each word. I can't relate on all parts of the story unfolding, but I can feel the pain and suffering in my soul, and to that, I can relate. Have to check all of your available work!

This song resonates with me, as this was my pain pill addiction in a nutshell. I stopped, cold turkey when in college. I casually mentioned I took 6 500mg tablets for my pain. My guidance counselor, doctors, and all were thinking I was trying to end my life. And their shock when they realized I was taking usually 4-5 a day prior. I stopped after that realization. It was hard, lots of pain and suffering I dealt. But I am very, very headstrong and I was stubborn through it. I'm a prime example that when you set your mind to it. You will get it done and keep it done. To this day I still don't take pain medication unless prescribed by a doctor for an actual reason.

I listen to this song at least 10 minutes now. And i noticed something.
The person who takes the pills took more than Prescribed from the beginning. I read the lyrics over and over to be sure.
But it goes

3 to clear your mind
And FORGET all the hate
The man never said 4, but depending on the accent you could understand 4 get all the hate. I think it was always 3 pills prescribed. But you could interpret forget all the pain as 4 pills.
And i love this about this song. Its beautifully written and even shows how fast you can overdose on medication if you dont listen carefully.

This song came up randomly a few months ago. I absolutely fell in love with it. The story aspect is good, the chorus is super catchy, and I love how your voice juxtaposes with the subject matter. That lullaby quality works so well
I love to analysed all the changes in the chorus over the progression of the song. Even changes like 'the hate' to 'my hate' add so much depth. Such a moving story and amazingly expressed through the lyrics!
