      You know, I have heard horror stories about just about every tool out there.. I am a big Abrites fan, but alot of people tell me they have screwed up BMW's because of it, or ACDP has lost the coding of a module.. I can tell you personally, that I get more modules that people have used VVDI and tried to downgrade or make a key with the 64 starts, that I have had to restore than any other programmer... But that might be because it's the cheapest and easiest to use... They all will screw stuff up if your not careful, actually, they will screw shit up even when you are careful..... If you have ever used the Factory ISTA tool with the ICOM interface, you will find out that even the factory tool screws up these cars... One of my earlier videos is how to fix a CAS 3+ module... that module, and the identical used module, where screwed up by ISTA... and when the tech support email came back that the mechanic should replace the CAS module, he stated that the car was doing fine until he tried to update the I level on the DME to fix a high pressure fuel sensor issue, they came back with, too bad, you need to replace CAS.. He asked who should pay for that?? tech support stated that wasn't there issue... AVDI upgraded the I level in just the DME in about 15 minutes... I am totally amazed that any locksmiths actually want to do BMW's... I would rather do old Mercedes immo boxes with HC05 chips in them than play roulette with the BMW modules... But hey, it's what our customers want... Stay safe, and always, I REPEAT, always have at least 13.1 volts to the car before you do anything... Good luck...

    What ACDP adapter did you use to read the isn from the dme? I want to make sure I have all the adapters to read the isn when I buy this device… but I know they are sold separate from the main unit and modules.

      I disconnect the battery when removing any module form a late model BMW.... or any german car for that matter... If you have a test setup, such as one from bestdiagcar2014.com
      you can test it on the bench.... here is one of there videos... Shemek Best is one of the smartest individuals out there, do a search for him, you will be astounded...

    Did you have to remove the dash to get the cas module

      I didn't, but the locksmith who brought me the modules did... Its a PITA to get the cover up and remove the CAS...

      I think ACDP with CAS module is anywhere from 1,200 to 2,000.. I got mine from keymasterLSW.com they had a good price and they are pretty good with support..

      I have had it for about 6 months... I love it for CAS4 and Fem, It usually works great.. I love the fact that it allows you to read the data without having to cut traces or remove any small resistors... That's a big deal when you get old and blind like me....

    Nice job!
    If cas was 3++ istap would there be a new file to write back to cas once new key was generated?

    • @fortunatoy2k
      @fortunatoy2k 4 роки тому

      Aleks A the tool will inform you if you need to write back to CAS.

      Usually on CAS3+ or ++, the ACDP reads the data, then decrypts it on there server, then writes data to the key to make it a dealer key... Then you introduce the key to the CAS and it accepts it.. When the dealer orders a key from the factory, they have the key files stored on a server, they select the next key in the CAS and write that data to a blank key, they send it to the dealer and the dealer either gives it to the customer with instructions to put into your key slot a few times, or the dealer service department does that..

      I f followed the exact step used chains new key.
      Key was locked at the end frequency 868 I'd 46.
      Tool didn't required me to write back.
      Now car is not starting.
      I think I've to do it again this time I'll write back the newly generated file.

    How do you identify what type of dme it is??

    • @timtracy9442
      @timtracy9442  4 роки тому +2

      Well, I actually went to realoem.com and put in the vin, then went thru the parts catalog and found which DME the car had... But, you can also google the part number...
