By the way, Betty can make illusions if thats not obvious enough, a clear way to see it is if somebody has a pink glare in their eye, they are seeing illusions

sense idk how much was told to you about what gaster was doing here and it kinda sounds like you till dont fully understand, i thought id explain it real quick this is true for both this (sorta) and the original animation. also i want to talk about this cuz its realy cool. all of this information comes form the Glitchtale wiki so it should be cannon. basically seance Papyrus and Sans are Gasters children, Gasters power was split between the two of them meaning that Gaster was only operating at about 50% power. When sans died the first time apart of his power was returned to him so he could summon the Two giant hands instead of the seven small ones (as a side note the only reason he could summon the two giant hands while sans was still alive during there fight with betty was because sans was only alive because of the Determination gaster injected into him) . however when sans died the second time and Betty tried to kill Gaster, he snapped, and began to drain papyrus of his magic returning Gaster to his full strength and allowing him to use his special attack Polychromatism, which is the one were he summoned the giant blaster and the big hands and little hands and his eyes turn purple. however sense Papyrus was still alive, gaster was slowly killing the both of them with out really realizing it because he was just so angry and fed up with Betty.

Okay my theory is that gaster doesn't takes papyrus power he takes his power that was from papyrus and since sans died the power from gaster in sans returned to gaster and when gaster absorb his power back from papyrus he got all his original magic back

if you didn't catch it, Frisk was there on the left but he got replaced with Chara, that is attention to detail

Gaster was still there because it was an illusion to trick Papyrus. If their eyes are pink, it’s most likely an illusion.
