That was a detailed conversation in both breadth and depth. Very helpful for my interview in a couple days 🙏. Thanks for the amazing work you are doing to help PhD hopefuls like myself.
    My summary
    1. Be authentic
    2. Clearly communicate the motivation for your research interests, eg, the desire to solve a particular problem
    3. Always ask a question
    4. Send a thank you email and ask further questions, if any.

Thank you for this insightful session. It has really given me some kind of confidence and enlighten me for my upcoming PhD interviews. However, I would like to ask that, How do I inform my interviewers or admission committee about any disorders or impediments I may have? For example, if you have a speech impediment (stammering or stuttering), how and when do you inform them about your disorder before the interview officially commences?

Thank you for your kind words! Regarding your question, it's best to inform the interviewers about any speech impediment beforehand, ideally through an email. This gives them a heads-up to accommodate your needs. Simply state your condition briefly and express appreciation for their understanding. If you haven't informed them in advance, mentioning it briefly at the start of the interview is okay. Honesty and openness are often appreciated!
Best of luck with your interviews!
