I love that both IU and V clearly make music that they want to make, regardless of convention... Difference is, IU has been doing that for ages at this point, with many of her most famous songs where she not only writes the lyrics (most all of her songs) but even composes them (like Palette, Blueming, others). She's also been the producer for her music and MVs since 2015...all the while also being an award-winning actress. She's truly a unicorn, and I love to also see her support of V by casting him in this MV and letting the world see how talented an actor he is. It will be great to see more from her with both Suga and V over time.
Can we talk about how professionally and perfectly taehyung showed vulnerability along defense(safe guarding)here. His body language, the desperation in his eyes, and vulnerability gosh he is so good. IU's voice sounds majestic and their acting felt so real. Glad that IU asked Tae to shoot the MV with her. They have been close friends for years. They filmed this 1 week before Tae's military enlistment. Tae was also shooting his Compose Coffee commercial during this time. Because when one of his close friend, Park Seojoon (actor) and Producer Na (from Jinny's Kitchen, one of Taehyung’s show) visited him on the set of his Compose Coffee commercial shooting, Tae said that after the shoot he will go directly somewhere to film another one. Both of them are well respected in South Korea for being true to their craft and their kind personalities. These two were given National Titles by the Korean Media and netizens. Here's everything you missed:
1) IU is deaf/mute and V is blind in one eye. IU uses sign language in the dinner table.
2) The cube (the director said it is called "nemo") represents the society which discriminates against people having disabilities or those who are simply different (often considered as misfits) thus eliminating them. (the pile of clothes: The pile of clothes also reminds you of BTS "Spring day"MV which also features it)
3) The camrecorder shows how the world would have been if the society didn't discriminate against them. They would have get married happily.
4) The scene where they are at the restaurant and the scene where she is on stage singing in her wedding dress, you can see how the people around covered in black are all pointing their fingers at Tae and IU (represents how harshly the world judges them especially in their happy moments)
5) The whole mv was mainly shown from the pov of IU. You can see how she always put herself in the danger first and tries to protect Tae, how tenderly she loved him, her touches were so gentle as she saw his normal eye through the cam. But Tae loved her too. At the end of their life, he puts himself in front and tried to break the box. They both are equally scared but when time comes, they can sacrifice themselves for the other. This is true love.
6) IU taps three times on Tae's shoulder during the scene where he grabs her hand tightly. The three taps translates to "I love you" in sign language.
IU can't hear and V’s one eye can't see ,in the end IU covered the good eyes of Taehyung so he won't see the horrible ending in front of them ,im Stuck at how a single tear from Taehyung’s good eye traced its path down his face and IU’s hand gently covered his eyes, It's as if he found a momentary refuge in her touch, offering a subtle relief from the overwhelming sensation ... AH I CAN'T STOP CRYING 😢😢😢

IU is a huge artist and actresses! She's been around since 2008 and is called "Korea's little sister"! As a soloist, she sells our stadiums most groups cant. Her voice is absolutely beautiful! She's also an excellent actress, and has been a main character in several dramas. V also has acting experience in one drama, but hopefully we'll get to see him as a main character some day.

That's true it's a very emotional song and MV is also emotional... I cried while watching this... Teahyung is a very good actor, he did a drama called "Hwarang" you guys should react to his drama... And in BTS there are a lot of videos where he proves his acting skills like BTS song"I need you girl" "butterfly" and many more...
Such a beautiful and emotional video featuring amazing acting and vocals that makes the experience so personal. I really do hope that Tae & IU do other projects together both film and music as they have great chemistry and when he was on her show their voices also blended so well. Also at the end it was pointed out by someone that he can hear what is coming but she can't, while she can see what is coming but she covers his good eye so he can't. Both cry at the same moment though and from the same left eye. Also the right side of his face seems to have burn scars so maybe he had encountered a cube before but got away at the last minute. This cube was relentless in its pursuit and even seemed to change size so it could come into the building. Earlier when it was flying overhead you could tell no way it could fit inside those hallways. I also noticed the cube waits for them to stop fighting and accept their fate. If you notice there are no other people so obviously no person is able to meet the criteria this cube holds that would allow someone to survive. The camcorder that kept showing a better reality, was giving us the viewer a happier version of the events. They both rise in the air together, their bodies still solid, while the reality is that they have been turned to ash. At the top of the camcorder right before it turns off you see ash particles in the air. I also loved how the clothes landed together on the pile. Again all of this symbolizing that even though they seemingly lost to the cube, it couldn't destroy their love for each other. They stayed together in life and death, so indeed their love did win. I can't get enough of this MV, the acting is Oscar level and combined with the award worthy vocals and lyrics it's both heartbreaking but also heartwarming that at least they went together.

the talent IU and V have is just insane. they filmed this entire video and recorded the vocals all in a week. in the video IU is deaf and V is blind in his right eye. the acting they both did in this video is just insane. this should be made into a k-drama 100%. believe it or not IU was extremely sick with the flu when she recorded this song in the studio. she refused to stop because it needed to be finished before V had to report for his military service. there is a video of her and what she went thru during the recording. how she pulled it off and how amazing her vocals sounded truly shows how amazing she is. this is one of the best MV's i have ever seen. the storyline, the concept, the metaphors and the way they portrayed it, how they built their characters in a 5 minute video is just insane.
It wasn't V acting debut lol where did you guys got that information. His acting debut was on drama Hwarang years ago where he met his real life besties, the infamous Wooga Squad. Fyi it wasn't IU first collab with BTS you should watch her Eight MV. IU and Suga wrote the song together and ft. Suga too. It's beautiful with deep meaning behind it.

this is the first time I've watched the music video. it gave me chills, it felt like it was referring to the life of a celebrity, how they could only enjoy their dating life through each other's eyes. the cube looks like a pixel, cyberbullying which often targets celebrities who out their relationship in public. The piled clothes take me back to Spring Day wherein it symbolises victims. Some are saying it's a tribute to disabled people, IU being deaf and V being blind
Both IU and V are actors. IU has done several K dramas. V was in Hwarang in his early days of his being in BTS. Both are outstanding in both singing and acting.
The Cube represents society, it is chasing every individual who doesn't fit the standards of society. Here V is half blind, IU is deaf and mute. So they are running from the oppression of society. The world is controlled by these standards of perfection to the point that people in South Korea put masks on when they don't have make-up or when they feel insecure or they wear hats when their hair is messy. The MV is a dystopian view of our society. While they are trying to hide in this abandoned place filled with the clothes of people who died because of this oppression, they find a camera that allows them to have an illusion of what their lives could be if they were "normal" by society's standards, it starts with their looks, they could see how they would have looked like, then what they would eat, then they start to feel the illusion a bit too much to the point they beautifully imagine that IU could sing and V could sing as well and she could listen to his voice, they could marry each other and just have fun and eat whatever they want because they wouldn't have to care about society or any other kind of oppression. However, as soon as they feel a little bit of comfort and try to live their life, the Cube (society) finds them again and pushes them to retreat and flee again, but the Cube managed to find them again, they try to survive against it and try to fight it as hard as they can, but they cannot beat a stronger system, they just give up but at least they stayed together until the end. Even if they died at the end, they loved each other deeply, it shows that even if society is oppressive, people can love each other and they can find their soulmate even if they are not "normal or perfect" to the eyes of some many others. The pile of clothes is like these people died because of injustice, but they deserved love, so the pile of clothes can look very gloomy and sad, but if you don't forget them you can see them happy and free where they are now.
