Laziness caused me to transfer practically 85% of my 200+ plants into hydro or semi-hydro setups. I live in an apartment, so I buy most of my plants as babes (mostly 4in pots). I give them about a week from the day of purchase, and then I take them out of the dirt, wash off the leaves and the roots, and pop them into something soil-less. Even many of my succulents. Yes, I have lost a few leaves, but nothing drastic. Only my cacti and my really large plants still live in soil. So, watering day for me is a breeze...
I was very concerned for you near the Euphorbia but you handled that plant like the icon you are. I’d love one of those but have enough self awareness to know that one day I’d fall on it or something 😂 Great tips, thank you!
Yes! I water most of my plants in place now. Deep saucers are the key. I like finding bowls at the thrift store as they are cheaper and more options than cover pots. They may not completely cover the pot but they’re still cute.
I have some of my Snake plants in non-draining pots and they do just fine with benign neglect, I water every 4-6 weeks , when I can remember. Also I bottom water plants that are harder to reach or like to remain moist. You looked good to me in this video, didn't know you were a sweaty mess till you told us.
I'm a drip tray diva and a button water babe! When I water in place, I water over the top until the drip tray is covered in a very shallow layer of water. Almost always, the plant drinks up that little teench of water after a few minutes!
I came across the ficus growing video and I simply loved your charisma and content, hoping that your channel grows bigger day by day, you definitely deserve it!
I use the bottom watering water drip tray hack EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I swear by this hack as well. I use it for my aeoniums and CROTON. Succulents not so much. My Echeverias are a different story. 😅
Heehehehhee* I was gifted a stainless steele cart from Sam's Club of all places and I move my plants on that on watering days. Thankfully I don't have any large scale spine bending trees as of yet but great tips!~
Ofcourse it’s not amended . It’s just regular soil from the earth and remember these are not aroids, at least the plants not in my living room. They are hardy plants used in landscaping here and do not require fancy soil . ☺️
I bring them in the bath or in the shower 😆 I give water and/or shower to remove the dust 2 for 1 and I let them drain 30min-1h. My big cast iron plant is on a plant stand whit wheels very easy to move around the home. Too dangerous for the floor, furnitures if I walk around with a watering can 🤣
I used to leave excess water under those plants in decorative pots, but they get molds, i cant tolerate it due to allergies. I give only little water to my indoor plants and those who cant manage the supply can say byebye.
I’m lazy so everything gets watered until just a bit comes through to the saucer…I skip cacti, ZZ plants and snake plants until the next time. Try to stay cool …! 🪴❄️⛄️
The yellow walls really makes the plants stand out! It compliments the greens so well

Also cover pots are game changers for tropical plants. They will save you so much time. Again my succulents….different story. 😅

Wait, that soil didn't look amended. Is that correct? If so doesn't it get compact and smuggle the roots?
