Man I love this channel this man was a big part of my child hood
It does have a gender. It's an immature queen. It didn't create facehuggers. If you watch the special features of the movie, the creators specifically state it's an immature queen, hence she can reproduce. And the shape of the head, kind of a crown, like the queen had.
I don't think they have different sexes, since I don't think they mate.

@@stevenanderson3936 pretty sure “Queen” is just a term they used in the films to show the similarities of Xenomorphs to insects, because if I remember correctly, Ridley Scott confirmed that the Xenomorphs are hermaphrodites
idk I think she’s a praetorian that has the ability to reproduce cuz of something with the predator dna

super happy that HIYA made a figure of the predalien! this guy has always been my favorite xeno type, but the NECA and HotToys figures were just too pricey for me, so it’s nice to finally have a decent, affordable figure of this guy
I actually learned something new about the Predalien and it's design: originally, the designers went with it being about 80% Alien and 20% Predator, until a 14 year old walking through the halls of 20th Century Fox saw the maquette of the thing, and said "Wow! Cool Alien!" which led to the addition of dreadlocks made from heat shaped molds of the tiny Alien's tail from Alien³. It was also stated that the Predalien was a she, as it was reproducing the way we saw in the film before maturing further and becoming immobile with an ovipositor, like the Queen's from ALIENS and AvP.
Awesome review man! I remember watching your NECA predalien many years ago and also wished that they would release a new figure down the road and thank goodness they did! I placed my order for the Hiya Toys Predalien and couldn’t be more excited !

The PredAlien is a very awesome creature.
Can't wait to get this. I love the Predalien since it's able to make other Aliens and be an Alpha type of Alien. It scares me more than any Predator or Alien too.

@@adml1227 no, they're about the same size as the little Star Wars figures you'd spot at like 5 Below. They're in that range. NECA has this preset size.
something to note is that we never see the feet is that the costume had none . it is fun to see the behind the scenes

In my honest opinion, if you're in the market for a good AvP:R Predalien figure, get this one, or the Battle Damage version, if it's what you prefer. With the articulation it's about the NECA Predalien, and the size and price put it ahead of the Hot Toys Predalien.

I just bought it today!!! and it looks amazing and it was the last one on sale
side note - I recently bought a bag of 1/18 gijoe style indie stands, came with like 50-100. I think they're called inolock or something. Anyway, I got them for Fortnite 1/18 scale and they were too small, BUT they work PERFECTLY for Hiya figures, as it has two pegs on each stand, and they fit snugly. Definitely helped with the PredAlien
I grabbed one of those, it's awesome! I love the HiYa toys 1/18 scale. Never thought I'd collect that scale till I saw what they came up with. And with the JoyToy Mecha Depot sets (which can be built in various ways), throwing in the Aliens and Predators, it's like my own lil AvP LV426 scenario
After tuning into your premiere for this review, I went on a full Predator kick and spent like 3 hours binging your kenner inspired Predator reviews. 😆

according to the dvd commentary, the Predalien (Chet) is indeed a Queen. The first canon look at a young queen that implants chestsbursters as opposed to growing a sack before she matures.

Wow it looks pretty darn amazing! Might pick one up today. I saw one at a local shop but i forget if it was priced the same or possibly more because it's bigger.
Also with the funky feet it has you may be able to use the grippy hands and hang it on something like it's climbing.
Oh and my fav hybrid was the gorilla alien i had as a kid.
Update! I went to the shop and he has the predalien for the same price as his smaller ones so I picked up the battle damaged predalien for $25 also found bbts still has lots to choose from for 19.99 each

Is this hiya versión of the predalien at the same height of neca figures?
I can't remember the lore source, but I remember it being said that the Predators/ Yautja saw a Xenomorph being birth from a Yaujta as an "abomination." I think the latest AVP game is what said this. So they probably didn't have a lot of experience fighting PredAlien due to that.
Are they available in GameStop or target?

The Predalien in the movie was a praetorian or a juvenile queen. The predaliens can’t lay eggs normally. Also the dreadlocks were retconned to be sensory organs on the predator which would make more sense now why it’s on predaliens instead of it originally being hair.

Still waiting for its release in BBTS, Really loved this variant played lots of games - the games had this species before the movies and my friends and i used to play the old AVP swarm mode and hold out vs aliens, and predaliens were tough son of bitches, and it became an injoke that if we needed to go out but somebody wasn't feeling it "but its cold, and there are predaliens outside" for years and years after we'd stopped playing the game.
I have a very limited number, one queen one of each of the colonal marine aliens at this scale.. as i mostly army build Starwars, but this is a MUST HAVE! and i hope i can find some other dog or warriors on the cheap some day, i'd love to get just a couple more.

Its really cool that Hiya Toys is making figures from the Alien/ Predator movies but questionable that they make ones from that booty cheeks movie that was AVP Requiem. Like, i never knew that is what the PredAlien actually looked like bc it was that dang dark

Hiya making neca look bad.
Don’t really like this company. There’s scale doesn’t make much sense and their figures scale to one of another. Also I was off. A lot of detail that they put into them though for a small as they are
I'm sorry, but that film was an abomination.
Especially the whole killing pregnant woman/newborn babies.
Maybe it's just me, but that doesn't really sit right with me, visually, an well as mentally.
Yeah they made it way TOO dark both visually as a movie and mentally. That hospital scene was a disturbing image no one needed
The only good things to come out of AVPR were the badass Wolf Predator and the terrifying Predalian. It would have sold really really well tho had it been set in space, in the far future with Weyland-Yutani and the US Colonial Marines
