The reasons this is must win to me: 1)I had dallas at 11-6 before the season and this was one ot the Ws 2) if the commanders are for real and dallas splits or worse with them, this game will be crucial for wc berth and/or playoff seeding. 3) because of the penalty on the 2pt try, a lot of that game is misremembered by folks. Dan Campbell called a desperate game. All those fourth down tries and trick plays attempted told me Dan believed he couldnt beat the Dallas Cowboys straight up and needed to create advantages and opportunities. If dan campbell thinks a weakened and inferior cowboys roster from last year is more his style, i dont think he'll be as reliant on tricks, which should advantage the cowboys. 4- the last two weeks if you listen to travisoshea here, the cowboys only won bc the opponents qb play was lousy. Ill give ya daniel jones, ive never believed in him. But justin fields beat micah the last time they played and went up and down the field. The cowboys did a good job containing fields on the ground and one could argue the secondary being led by jourdan lewis has played well the last couple of weeks. Its must win for mike zimmer to get more people to buy in. 5- must win bc they havent won at home yet what is going on.... 6- And finally its must win so i can see what julian is going to say and how maybe the lions arent that good of a team now.
Why does everyone think that Detroit got screwed in that game last year. It blows my mind. Did they even watch the game. First off. Even if that 2 point conversion counted there was still time for dallas to drive the field for a game winning field goal. Second off if they would have called that tripping call on the right player which was clearly Hutchinson who stuck out his foot the game would have been over. Dallas is a pretty good matchup for the Lions at least on paper. Dallas struggles with running the ball and stopping the run and the Lions excel at them. Dak is gonna have to drop back mucho times in this one. If the Lions DB's can limit their pass interference calls to 3 or less, then they should win.
They stopped the run pretty good vs Pitt vs a run heavy team and with a runner at QB. If the Lions cannot pound the ball between the tackles vs this Dallas defence then I’d be worried about Detroit

The Lions ran into a brick wall when they tried to go up the middle against Vita Vea and the Bucs, but the Lions still ran for nearly 140 yards in that one. I don't think Mazi Smith is gonna be anywhere near as hard to block as Vea was. I like the Lions chances.
