In this episode of FACTORY FRIDAYS, boats.com and host Marilyn DeMartini visit the SeaHunter Boats facility in Homestead, Florida. Viewers get an exclusive insider's look at the 46,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art boat building shop where SeaHunter constructs their full-padded, v-bottom hulls. These boats feature stepped transoms are are touted as being 10-15% faster than traditional v-bottom or full stepped hulls.
With hulls made using 100% vinylester resin and corecell foam and components bonded together mechanically and via weld-on techniques, these "quiet and unsinkable" vessels are carefully planned and assembled. From the 3D CAD design to the vacuum bagged process and final rigging of each boat, boaters will walk through each stage of manufacturing to learn how every aspect of the boat is ergonomically engineered for functionality and safety from start to finish.

...and I learned nothing ===> Except at 3:36 when we learned that older Seahunter Cats must have sunk because the new Seahunter Catamaran is now a "Seaworthy Boat."
I'm going to go out on a limb here, but I'm guessing that all Factory Friday's will be a video ad for that boat company? If this Factory Friday isn't just a sponsored ad for the boat company, I would LOVE to see how SeaSport does things! I fished for 3 days on a charter and the Commander 2800 was a beast of a boat! We were in a sloppy 4ft sea, caught HUGE Halibut and the boat was tough as nails and fished like a champ in those seas!!
Each episode take viewers inside the factory where you can see every step of the boat building process, including how vacuum infusion works, chopper guns vs hand laid fiberglass construction, CNC fabrication, hull design - from traditional to digital, computerized and 3D CAD software design, plus fit and finish process and painting processes. Each builder will make their case for why their boat's are unique and stand aside from the rest. Viewers can decide themselves and get to really see what goes into building these boats.
