The skateboard is a new model Alan Gelfand Powell Peralta tribute repop. They are not rare at all. Alan's nickname was ollie, because he was widely published as the person whom did the rear wheel bonk on coping at a skatepark resulting in a f/side no hand air, aka f/side ollie (albeit very small) It appears it has 149' (or 159') Indy' trucks (a dime a dozen/ just standard). It's not that expensive. It's a double kick, so it's new school, you can find them anywhere. Now,....If it was an original Gelfand from the early 80's (a 10 by 30 original), then you'd want it as a wallhanger if you were a collector, & then beauty is in the eye of the beholder, & for what you want to pay. But, yeah, it's not a special deck by any means.
I should bring my 79 Alva with tracker trucks & 70 red Kryptonics to this shop just to get on you tube lol! All in great shape. I bought it and left for the military a couple years later so it sat collecting dust for a couple decades. Reall only used on halfpipes and a ramp in my buddies driveway in Michigan. No curb grinding or anything.
it is very unlikely that the gelfand is from the 80s. the shape is wrong and it's very unlikely it would be that shiny. Also no one from the 80's would EVER put a reds sticker and a spitfire sticker on a deck that prestigious. ***edit i just realized this video is a year old :) I'm sure you figured it out by now
For skateboards always look at the bolts that mount the trucks to the board- the modern (reissues) the 4 bolts are close together. The old boards have bolts farther apart. You are looking at a reissue I can tell by the spoon nose- the original is a pig shape with a flat front
i love when people JUST TALK BLAH BLAH BLAH.. dude has no clue what hes talking about when it comes to that skateboard. but I'll be damned if he doesn't pretend!
That end shot ! Amazing .. The editing team, big thumbs up. We need to know who edits these videos! Peter you are a good man who is open to change. You can see the collaboration between you and your video editor and camera person (I'm guessing they are the same people) Overall, I think you both have amazing sound and picture taste and work together really well on that front. I cannot forget the rest of the team, some new, and long time pioneers, who helped you build a institution. I hope you are proud Peter, i sure would be.😊😊
both the guys with skateboard and vintage metal-detector was super chilled... he knew even with the stickers its a classic deck and worth more than "couple $"... and the other guy had no clue about watches or metal-detectors and just wanted to ask... both seem to be very polite and nice customers

Lonnie Mihin worked in the engineering lab at Alvin G doing cable layouts and mechanical assembly design. He explains about this backglass: There was never a production game made. There wasn't even a prototype. Wally and Michael came up with the "game idea" and what the concept of the game would be. The only thing that existed was a small handful of backglasses and the joke behind the game's name.
Yes plus if he turned the discrimination up too high it won't sound off on regular metal or rings. I have one just like that it is worth a good $75-$100.
Alan Gelfand was a sponsored rider for Powell Peralta. He is the inventor of the ollie. Rodney Mullen was the first to do it on flat ground. Plus that board is a reissue, not an original.
Dude was kinda intense. How about you look into it a little deeper and know what you have before you come in? And if you can sell it online yourself why even bring it in? Love that Pete is unshakable, no one's gonna be at him at his own game. Fun to watch 'em try tho 😜
Formed in 1991 by Alvin Gottlieb, the son of Gottlieb founder David Gottlieb, Alvin G. & Co. was the family's attempt to get back into the pinball business after the original Gottlieb was sold off in the 1970s. They weren't able to use the Gottlieb name, and had to build out their own new factory space in a warehouse west of the Gottlieb Memorial Hospital in Melrose Part, Illinois. Alvin G. was relatively shortlived, putting out around half-a-dozen tables before closing down in 1994. Maxx Baddazz was never produced. Prototype only.
That is the board of the guy the Ollie is named after as he invented it Alan "Ollie" Gelfand. If it's an original in that shape it's definitely someones grail peace for a classic collection There are skateboard collectors and there are powell Peralta collectors. You could contact powell to find out what to look for for original. That's a score if it's genuine it's hard to find classics not all thrashed
Bones Brigade. Powell & Perelta. I had a Rip Stik. Then I think a Steve Caballero, by Powell & Perelta.,….. these names are a proper flash back. Done great days skating & BMX’ing. It’s not uncommon for a board to come with different trucks & parts. Gorilla ribs & tail. 😁😁
Did I miss it (half asleep) or did he but it?? Powell Perelta, bones brigade loved all the skate days growing up, Tracker six track trucks, variflex, gorilla 🦍 ribs, bones 🦴 wheels the list goes on. Said was tired - replied twice to you 🥹
It's an Alan Gelfand Skateboard who was a pro skateboarder not the artist, he invented the ollie that's why it says ollie on it. It's definitely a reprint, the original was released in the 80's and you'd prolly never find one in the condition that one's in.
8:57 the deck would most likely just come as a deck and then someone put the trucks and grip tape on. Even if not skaters are always switching trucks, It would surprise me more if those where original.
That Pinball backglass was for a game that was never actually created. A lot of times they’ll draw up a set of concept art work for a particular theme they would like to design. It is then sent off to either be approved or denied. I’m going to reach out because I’m definitely interested. I’m sure we can work something out. It would look nice in my game room.
You lost on that metal detector, even in non-working condition, they bring hundreds of dollars. Even the cheap “plastic’y ones would bring well over 50 bucks. If that ever happens again, especially when the unit has a metal frame and guide rod, buy, buy, buy! The older units have vacuum tubes in them, I’m sure you know how expensive they’ve gotten. The tube units brings a couple hundred in working condition, and the higher end transistorised units which are a bit more reliable bring substantially more. I’m sure you make up for such losses in other departments. Stay safe and awesome Pete, thanks for the great videos
Hello. How can I contact Craigslist hunter if I want to buy something from him online ? I'm looking for an 8 track player that I can use at home that has the RCA connections. Thank you
I went to google and typed in the name and then pinball for the maxx piece and this website popped up with the artwork you have. Definitely not a OG Powell skateboard but a reissue Powell board. You probably can buy the skateboard deck brand new for max $100 if it was a OG 1980s board it could be worth a lot more. Most of your 1980s OG boards are going to be several inches wider. I will tell you Pete some of the older boards/decks can be worth some real money.

I would pay $40 for complete deck like that. My opinion.
that board is a reissue and it is an Allen Gelfand and is worth about 80 total for a used REISSUE.
