- This is a Toyota HiAce Double Cab 4X4 pick up truck. Its on Toyotas H platform that can be made into other body styles. Has a 2.5L 4cyl diesel engine mated to a 5 speed manual. Pretty solid little vehicle.

This is what my 4WD Hijet wants to be when it grows up. I'd love to have a 4WD Toyota diesel Hiace with a full size pickup bed (no fender wells intruding as on pickups in the US market) and a full size crew cab. It'd be great to drop a custom made camper box into the bed and make it an overland vehicle although I think the ground clearance is less than most people would assume from the appearance. I wonder what it would cost for liability insurance in the US.
Love this! Brought some childhood memories. My dad had a regular hiace van with the same engine. So it makes the exact same sound.
The mystery box that's talking to you is the Japanese Toll card slot. Most of the time on startup they let you know that the cards NOT inserted.

How well does it do on the highway I imagine with that small engine 65 is close to its limits
It's been a few years but if my memory serves me right, it wasn't horrible. The gearing in the trans was good enough for the highway.
But there is no safety belt.

Well Nice 2/cab for sure, But $9000, 00 for a 30 yr old truck ?? I think it's at least $3,500 over priced. God Bless Good Vid Big Guy !!
Was looking at these on an auction sight today and the 2wd models are selling for 12k not including getting them shipped over seas and paying import taxes and all that good stuff
