Thank you very much Oliver! I am beginner in free diving. I bought MOLCHANOVS FINS, carbon fiber. I am implementing your advice tomorrow morning at the pool. I have an exam for the PADI FREEDIVING COURSE on Sunday.

Yes, shorties rock for traveling! I talked about this as well in my other "short fins video".

Hi Oliver, many thanks for sharing good content!
I have a question for you… I just bought a pair of short blades (60cm long). They are pure carbon fins blades from Leaderfins. I have 76 kilos and I was recommended to get medium stiffness to use for recreational freediving and spearfishing. I found the blades way too hard. This is normal when the blades are shorter?

Hi Lucas, This is also my personal experience with Leaderfins. Their blades of normal length are much stiffer than expected and not tapered enough (which means stiff under the foot, thin at the tip, and the transition in between). I have never personally tried their shorties, but based on your experience, they seem to have a similar problem there as well.

Interesting video with lots of information. Thanks! Do you have any experience with Molchanovs Core Silicone Bifins? Especially in open water? :) They are more affordable, but I'm concered about their efficiency when kicking them in open water. Ä Gruess!

Hey WV, I have tested them only in the pool and they are amazing. I say this because they force you to apply a good technique, or you will not get anywhere. This will be also true for open water.

    I'm 172cm and 74kg...
I kick C4 extra longer blade for 6 years now (M stiffness, 30 degree angle, 87cm blade total length and 19cm wide, bend starts at middle pos.)...dive around 20 meters for spearfishing..
after all these years I feel exhausted to kick my C4 s now...
I was thinking to change brand first, thought cetma (edge soft fins) is good brand to upgrade fins but after I watch your video I decided to get shorter (maybe regular for you :) ) blade fin instead of another brands longer blades...
İ think problem is not stiffness or brand, but length
thanks for the idea mate....I save lots of time :)
