In October 2016, when I was 72 years old, I finally traveled to Kyoto, the old capital, and spent a wonderful week wandering through its temple gardens. I saw perhaps two-thirds or more of the gardens in this video, which gives only glimpses of most of them, but the scenes depicted are lovely and the music complements the video nicely. I have watched it many times, and will watch it often again.

I have been to many of those incredible gardens and temples, but always in November when the maples leaves are fully red. It is like a beautifull dream. Yes, Kyoto is the most beautifull place on earth, especially in autumn. Cant wait to get back there when the pandemic is over and lets me enter Japan again.
I came back yesterday to Tokyo where I live. Kyoto was tourist free. Quiet. Serene. Kinkakuji with no one. Daitokuji with almost no one. Arayashima. Nanzenji etc all superb.
Mossy green Japanese maple gardens with water fountains and temple/tea house architectures are purely simple yet elegant, filled with peaceful vibes. Wait til the leaves turn color in the fall. I absolutely love it.

中国出身ですが、大学時代では京都北区に四年間以上在住しました。十ヶ所の中で、八ヶ所に訪れたことがあります。それ以外にも日本の美を表せる寺院がいくつかあります。立命館大学近くの等持院やきぬかけの道に沿って進み、妙心寺、龍安寺、仁和寺、大覚寺が待っています。そのまま更に進めば、嵐山にある天龍寺もすぐ目の前に。毎回訪れるたびに、心が癒されます。あるいは、ゆっくりと、自分の人生を振り返え、これまでのことや、これからのことを考える心の余裕ができます。言葉は一斉要りません。心でこの美しさを感じるのです。もう、政治なんか紛争なんか考えたくない。心の聖地にはこういう余計なものは要らない。床に座り、新緑のお茶を味わいながら、「やっぱり...こういう日本が好きなんだ。」と心から感服します。また、いつか日本に行けたらいいですね。

大学で建築学科でしたが、日本建築史の教材にした方が良いです。最高です
拝観時間前なのか人が映り込んでいないし、天候にも恵まれて美しい映像です。
ただ、時間が短すぎるのか庭のことをあまり理解していないのが残念です。
銀閣寺の庭に入るまでのワクワク感 東福寺の重森三玲の四庭 天竜寺の虎渓三笑の巨石 砂紋など
第二弾として 桂離宮 修学院離宮 仙洞御所 三宝院 成就院 等持院 大仙院 真珠庵 孤篷庵 金地院 玉鳳院 も観てみたいです。

秋の紅葉🍁、昼🌃夜の照明の紅葉🍁は素晴らしいの一言でした！！茶屋の舞妓とした遊びは北海道には無い遊びでした!!舞妓さんは皆さん綺麗で美しいと思いました!!
