Great video! I'm 52 and grew up mainly listening to rock n roll and old-school punk rock. My wife, who is 10 years younger, grew up listening to all the classic country, including Mr. Twitty. That was really interesting & well done. Bravo to both of you! There was some facts I didn’t know about, Harold. It is a real shame he passed away so young. It was sad, however, interesting to see his final resting place. Best/DVK🇨🇦

My grandma loved the duets by Conway and Loretta, she had all their albums they did together. I can remember when I was a kid back in the 70's, every time I'd go to Grandma's she would always have one of their albums playing on that big old HiFi record console that was the size of a Volkswagan
I loved to hear Conway sing. I got to go see him at Lanier Land in GA. in the late 80's. He did a beautiful job singing, but he didn't talk that much. Maybe he wasn't feeling well that night. My son was only 2 weeks old when Conway passed away. I seen Loretta Lynn in concert also, but not with Conway. That was in Hiawassee Tennessee in the early 80's. I would have loved to have seen a concert with them together. It's a shame Twitty City isn't still opened. Thank you for sharing this video with us. Oh and one more thing.... seems like one of the Memphis Mafia said that Elvis wanted to sing the song, " It's Only Make Believe " , but the Colonel wanted to make a deal and some how it didn't work out. Seems like I heard that said when I watched all the kings men, but I can't quite remember. 🤔🤪😁😉❤🤩

I didn't like him at first as a kid growing up. I went and watched him perform on stage and it was amazing to see his talent. I then became a big Conway Twitty fan
Thank you for this. I was a Conway fan at a young age. I saw him at Six Flags amd was so close to getting an autograph. I was only 5 feet from him. I regret no speaking up. What a shame that his family couldn't see the importance of keeping twitty city. His fans would have done his memory better than his wife and family did.
You are welcome. We are glad you enjoyed the video. That is too bad you didn't ask for an autograph. I am sure he would have been happy to sign something for you. He seemed like a friendly person. Thanks for watching. 😎😎
When I was about 9, we went to Nashville on vacation. We went on a tour and one of the stops was Twitty City! I remember bits and pieces of the tour, I remember it was very crowded and one of his cars was on display and all of his gold records!
When I got my hand in the 80s I sang this song Conway was still alive then and man I couldn't believe that only make believe got me a standing ovation and I had no idea if the power of that song made people applaud so much .I hate to say it when I got married to my first wife she loved Conway twitty she had several lps of him after she parted with me they seemed to all disappear was a messy devorice I Evan got high and ate the wedding cake 🍰 I froze for a anniversary which never happened I was only married for 6 months and she said 2 words on a note with my rings saying (I am gone ) I seen the grand old opre as they tore down there opryland and made a mall out of it and somewhere in there was Conway twitty name
That would be neat to get a standing ovation. Conway was very popular. That is sad about your divorce. A lot of times, they did get messy. Thanks for watching and commenting 😎😎
Very sad he died so young… I bet there are songs written down somewhere he hadn’t recorded. Can you imagine if he did and what a tribute that would be to get them recorded by someone with his growly voice… someone pure country
I can tell you a little bit more about the mansion. The living Spaces are on the first floor and the bedrooms are upstairs. There’s kind of like a little Den where there’s a very large coffee table purchased from John Wayne and the legs are quite large and shaped like a horses head with the main and partial chest. The horses are golden. The kitchen is not tiny, I would say it’s moderate size with lots of cabinets and countertops and a window that looks out into the front yard, the dining room is actually the first room on the right after a person enters the front door and to the left is a room that appeared to me to be a comfortable office. Both the office and dining room have windows that look out across the front yard. The actual living room area is straight back toward the back of the house and that front entrance hallway goes directly to the back living room area. From that living area a person gets to the other areas of the house including the stairs on the left and kitchen and Den to the right. That living room area has windows looking out over the backyard and a field further out from that. I think the field has been turned into the parking lot a few years ago. In the front yard there’s a stream running through the yard and it has a bridge going across it in the shape of an arch rather than flat. I sang gospel songs there with a few other people on that bridge one Sunday afternoon while one of the pastors from the Trinity Broadcasting church (located in the theater across the street) baptized people in the water. It was quite deep. It has multicolored lights that come on during the night which shine into the waterfall flowing off of the rocks into the water below. There’s also multiple concrete walking areas surrounding the waterfall and enter twined with flowerbeds. Multiple small trees scattered throughout the yard which may be considered moderate size trees to some people. Also in the gift shop there’s a door at the back of its shopping area that opens and allows people into the yard/front yard of the mansion. It’s like opening a door and walking directly into a beautiful lit up winter wonderland at Christmas, lights everywhere. As far as the other buildings on the property, there’s a large recording studio, a huge theater for concerts, broadway type plays and large attendance church services and worship events. On the side of the street where the gift store is there’s also a small theater for viewing videos but it’s set up so that when a person sits in a chair if there’s an earthquake scene the chair makes him or her feel as if he or she is actually experiencing the earthquake. It also has a particular type of surround-sound that makes you feel as if you’re walking through the woods and hearing the small branches cracking and breaking under your feet or the sound of dried leaves crunching under your feet etc. there’s also a huge building that has various displays with some animation in each one or beautiful colored scenes and it’s dark in the building and those scenes kind of have a Fluorescent light appearance in some instances. One scene is a Santa Claus kneeling at the foot of a manger with a baby in it and it reminds us that the Bible says every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord…even Santa Claus knows who Jesus is😊❤. Use to be some sidewalk chairs and a small table or two and there was a small bistro where a person could walk up to the window and get something to eat or drink, not a huge selection of food and drink but a few unique things. There’s another building that house is a very long road it’s a replica of the via Delarosa in Israel and it’s made of rocks and there are tiny replications of sidewalk businesses set up throughout it until you get to an area where there’s a huge scene of the Hill of Golgotha with the crucifixion and there’s thunder and lightning surrounding it…Remember it was once named Twitty City…And it truly is a little city. I hope this description isn’t confusing and perhaps you can get a mind picture similar to what it actually was.
We appreciate the information. We got to go into the house about nine years ago. We were hoping they would still let you go inside , but this time, they wouldn't let us.😎😎
I never knew he was named after Harold Loyd I was brought up listening to County music and Conway Twitty thanx to my dad I used to watch Harold Loyd on TV when I was a kid I loved it OVIOUSLY was the re runs as I'm 51 years old loved uour video from here in the UK ❤❤❤🎵🎵🎵😘
OMG Conway was such a huge hit for my family, my sister had a record "yes a record made of vinal acetate!" that was his greatest hits, wore that thing out to9o lol. my favorite songs that i try to do karaoke with are, image of me, after the fire is gone, somebody's needin' somebody, that moon song don't know a thing about love, and next in line. I'd love to make a album of those songs too but copyright would probably come after me if I did. I know every song or just about there of anyway too. someone needs to get a list of those songs that have gone out of copyright. i really do want to know what Onces have gone pd if any.
I SAW CONWAY AT TWITT7 CITY 2 TIMES & SEVERAL OTHER TIMES AT CONCERT,,,,I LOVED CONWAY,HIS SINGING ,MANNERS & HE WAS A MAN OF FEW WORDS....I ALWAYS SAID HE WAS SINGING TO ME A LADY'S GOT WISH HAHAHAH GONE MUCH TOO SOON.....I'M LOOKINGFORWARD TO SEEING HIM IN HEAVEN SOMEDAY ALONG WITH MY SON SHANE & OTHERS...OODLES OF LOVE PRECIOUS MEMORIES FAYE ARROWOOD HAVE A BLESS DAY
I think, please correct me if I am wrong but I read in another You Tube post, said that TBN sold the majority of Trinity City / Twitty City now and I have no idea who owns the property now.
When I was in Branson mo I sang that Conway sing hello darlin I never knew the unpacked it made in the women after I sang this song a woman comes up to me in tears and explained why she was crying as I triggered several memories of the legend Conway twitty
Such a sad end to his life and the way twitty city is no more. I do remember going there as a little kid, but i was so young I don't remember the specifics. IMO the most underrated song his "the clown"
Was in tennese the week he died. Was on a trip to see graceland and onto Nashville .so the coach took us to the church for conways church service and all stars we're pulling up out back in limos. George Jones. Tammy wynette.vince gill.to name a few.got to sit in the church for it.have the booklet they gave out at the service as a soveneir. George Jones and few others sang
He never sounded like Elvis to me. He was my favorite. It’s only Make Believe is still my favorite song of all times. I graduated from high school in 1963 so he must have recorded that song at that time
Check out Lonely Blue Boy from 1960. It was supposed to be in the Elvis movie King Creole but was cut from film so Conway recorded it in 1960. If you haven't heard that song you will like it. Conway had some great rock songs. Thanks Kathryn for comment Happy Thanksgiving 😎😎
thats another thing that annoys me so much, his burial place, dee always said he didn't want a big memorial i say BS it was up to her to jc give him a proper grave and the most amazing headstone
Sad, I wish we in Bruce, Ms where some of his kin could have done something about it. So sad, my grandmother passed away in 2003 always said he should have gotten a better place to be buried.
T B N had it opened but closed about 4 year's ago enjoyed guys and T & Me T V is Tommy of the Grand Ole Opry he has played for last 40 years great Steel Player
I knew his name was Harold Jenkins but I did not know he was named after Actor Harold Lloyd. He is one of the greatest actors of all time and Conway is one of the greatest singers of all time. Look up Harold Lloyd everyone you will recognize him.
Just because his children couldn't stand his present wife they destroyed his beautiful gift his home that he worked/sang his heart out to earn. I was lucky to see him perform 4 months before he passed as well as visited his home during Christmas it was decorated so beautifully. God Bless you Conway so sorry r children were so selfish
Sad that his family fought like they did over his stuff. My grandmother died without a Will. She said all of her family before her did. She didn't need a will.
@@jbinthehills my grandmother's cousin that was also kin to Conway lived in Gallatin. She and her husband are buried in Bruce, Ms. Conways mother was born in Calhoun City, Ms which Bruce and Calhoun City are in Calhoun County. They are like 8 to 10 miles away from each other.

Thanks for watching and sharing your story. 😎😎
Oh I love the song Hello Darlin
That was a good one.😎😎
Very sad he died so young… I bet there are songs written down somewhere he hadn’t recorded. Can you imagine if he did and what a tribute that would be to get them recorded by someone with his growly voice… someone pure country
His son could sing them. He's not bad. 😎😎
I'll bet there are, too, and it would be a tribute of the highest magnitude.
Li miss conway and Loretta great singers
They were great singers. 😎😎
Raised up on Conway and Loretta....Both Legends..❤❤❤
They are legends. 😎😎

Sounds like you are a big fan. I don't know how to fine out about the copyright . Thanks for watching 😎 😎

I think, please correct me if I am wrong but I read in another You Tube post, said that TBN sold the majority of Trinity City / Twitty City now and I have no idea who owns the property now.
I do not know the answer to that.😎😎
Conway twitty is one of my mom s favorite Singers
He was a Icon.😎😎
I know it was a great concert when we saw Conway twitty
I have a pic of me with him there when I was maybe 6 or 7 at Christmas, his lights were always amazing
That's so cool. Great memories thanks for sharing.😎😎
When I was in Branson mo I sang that Conway sing hello darlin I never knew the unpacked it made in the women after I sang this song a woman comes up to me in tears and explained why she was crying as I triggered several memories of the legend Conway twitty
He was very popular. Thanks for sharing the story with us. 😎😎
I visited once while Conway was still alive. Gorgeous!!!
😎😎
Such a sad end to his life and the way twitty city is no more. I do remember going there as a little kid, but i was so young I don't remember the specifics. IMO the most underrated song his "the clown"
Very good song.. Really wish also his home was open. He deserved more. 😎😎
That would have been awesome. Would have loved to attended that. I'm sure that is a special memory.
@@jbinthehills yes have pics of that place and the church .
Like y’all said should had Conway twitty on there like said Elvis Fam ⚡️⚡️TCB ⚡️⚡️
It should have. Sad
He was the best , never got to see in person,

Very good and not respected enough.😎😎
Sad an lonely place to me. He deserved a better memorial
He did. Still should be open as a museum.😎😎
thats another thing that annoys me so much, his burial place, dee always said he didn't want a big memorial i say BS it was up to her to jc give him a proper grave and the most amazing headstone
Hate Conway doesn't have a better memorial. One of the greatest of all times should be remembered better. 😎😎
Sad, I wish we in Bruce, Ms where some of his kin could have done something about it. So sad, my grandmother passed away in 2003 always said he should have gotten a better place to be buried.
Happy that the children won the legal battle. Congratulation and appreciated the gooood person who helpes them. GOOD HEART❤
Thanks for watching. 😎😎

I knew his name was Harold Jenkins but I did not know he was named after Actor Harold Lloyd. He is one of the greatest actors of all time and Conway is one of the greatest singers of all time. Look up Harold Lloyd everyone you will recognize him.
I do recognize his face from years ago. Appreciate you watching and commenting.Conway was one of the best.😎😎
was just at his grave site on Sunday, plus johny and June cash, George jones
We always try visiting their graves when we are in the area😎😎
Just because his children couldn't stand his present wife they destroyed his beautiful gift his home that he worked/sang his heart out to earn. I was lucky to see him perform 4 months before he passed as well as visited his home during Christmas it was decorated so beautifully. God Bless you Conway so sorry r children were so selfish
Thanks for watching and commenting. 😎😎
Barbara g barrett dayton ohio god bless Conway twitty family I have Conway's songs 50s thru up until his death
Thanks for watching 😎😎
Sad that his family fought like they did over his stuff. My grandmother died without a Will. She said all of her family before her did. She didn't need a will.
The sad thing is this is my family. I just wished I had the singing voice. My mother and cousin can sing. My brother could, he passed away.
It is sad. Thanks for watching 😎 😎
