Best rock band on the planet. Their MV's are excellent but live is really the way to go. If you like bass watch the new live version of HONKAI live from the after show, it'll impress you. Band Maid will always make you smile.
BAND-MAID consider themselves to be Hard Rock, not Metal, though it is among their many, many influences. They're a very balanced band. They have heavy songs and soft ones and everything in between. This show was the finale of their 10 Year Anniversary Tour. They played a 3 and a half hour Set. They have well over 130 songs and nearly every one a hit! And even when she's not playing a solo, MISA always plays Lead Bass. Always!
Welcome to the wonderful world of Band-Maid! They have an astoundingly deep and diverse catalog. Live is usually best with this band though you can’t go wrong with anything from their official site. Enjoy the ride with these ladies… I know I have!
In this band, the bassist MISA, the barefoot assassin (she prefers to play barefoot during concerts), can be heard prominently in the mix. She does the intros to many songs, has solos in many songs, and has battles with the lead guitarist in many songs. She is a world class bassist. Something else, the lead guitarist and music composer Kanami, was just presented a signature PRS guitar by Paul Reed Smith himself. She is the first Japanese artist to be honored with a signature model.
She joins Carlos Santana and John Mayer and 7 other dudes worldwide who have their own Signature model guitar from Paul Reed Smith. The first women to be so honored!
Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. They don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog mayhem to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They can make you headbang, they can make you pogo, they can make you cry like a baby. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 12th year with the original line up. And they are the best live band I have ever witnessed! Btw, Miku the rhythm guitarist (red rose) formed the band. She had the idea of Band-Maid after working as a maid in Japanese maid cafe's. Her idea is a concept called "The Gap" - that is what you see (cute maids) is NOT what you get (Hard Rock/Punk/Metal).
I suspect you might have enjoyed that! The good news is that there is an absolute multitude of videos of them for you to delve deeper into. Live videos are usually the best. Warning: You are entering a world from which there is no escape.
The 10th Anniversary concert list had something like 30 songs. Recently, they have released 20 more songs as a spin-off of that concert. Check out "Honkai" to experience Misa on bass battling with Akane on drums as a long warm-up to the full groups performance. They are very diverse, with great accoustic performances (Miku the founder with just the bassist and drummer doing "Sayonakidori ") spoofs (change the name, dress as Geisha apprentices and release a few music videos like "Secret Maiko Lips"), or make a video half the time as anime characters ("Unleash!!!!") Maybe you would like a battle of bands (their collaboration with The Warning). At some point, you'll want to see the Ohrenje documentary series. That will show you why Maidiacs praise these gals as special beyond their musicianship.
Try Hagane - Hero Time (live OMV) - 4 Japanese ladies, one insane drummer and an outstanding guitar solo on 7-string guitar. Try also Nemophila - Dissension. Both a bit harder than Band Maid. You can also listen to Band Maid's alter ego Band Maiko. Same musicians dressed in kimonos, singing in a Kyoto dialect with adaptations of their current songs. Try Secret Maiko Lips by Band Maiko.
BAND-MAID have been doing their thing for 12 years. Other currently active Japanese all-female bands you should know include: GACHARIC SPIN NEMOPHILA HAGANE HANABIE LOVEBITES EAST OF EDEN LONESOME BLUE NEK! Female-fronted bands include: UNLUCKY MORPHEOUS GLIM SPANKY BABYMETAL
Arron , Welcome to BAND-MAID enjoy your journey down the Pigeon Hole , MISA !!! MISA !!! MISA !!! the Barefoot Bass Assassin , know that you listened to more recent songs , go back and listen to there 1st MV Thrill from 2014 .
Asian bands? There are lots. Nobody like the Maids though, they are unique. Just search for Asian Rock and within days your YT suggestions will fill up with them. It's a trip.
Voice of Bacophet- hard rock slash metal from Indonesia. 3 hijab wearing women dedicated to playing their girl power driven music. Rage against the Machine's Tom Morello is a fan! God Allow me please to play music is a good starting place or Public Property. P.S. BandMaid is the greatest proper rock and roll band of the 21st century.
No one else is Band-Maid, but check out "Shooting Star" by East of Eden, "Fantasy No. 1 in C-sharp Minor 'Melody Thief'" by Paleneo, "Tousou (Run Away)" by Hanabie, "天下五剣 (The Five Swords of Japan)" or "Hero Time" by Hagane, "Maze" by Nek!, or "Abnormal" by Mutant Monster -- all radically different female rock bands from Japan. It looks like there are plenty of other suggestions earlier in the comments too.
Rule #1: As long as you don't piss Saiki (vocals) off, she's an angel. :) But if you do, don't be surprised if she pays you back publicly with lyrics like these. 😂 As for Misa (bass), B-M is always a fantastic choice because I think she's one of the most creative out there and she also gets the space to show what she can do. Welcome to the pigeon-hole of Band-Maid and greetings from Germany. :) _____________________ 「 _"Our rock never dies ever. Forever!"_ 」 - ♬ *BAND-MAID* - 'Manners' ♬🕊️
Welcome to Band Maid. Fantastic rock band. Seen them a few times in concert in the US. Always put on a great show. Discovered them in 2019 and have become one of my favorite bands. Their music videos are good but their live concert videos are where they really shine. Another all female band from Japan that you may like is Nemophila. Great live band as well. Here is a link to their song "Revive". Whole band is awesome. Mayu, the vocalist has a great singing style. ua-cam.com/video/xlIbcjqN5ao/v-deo.html
Great reaction, subbed! Looking forward to more Band-Maid reactions from you! After you get some sleep!
Sleep, Band-Maid, eat, shower, repeat. 😉

Welcome to the world of BANDMAID!
They have many kinds of genre.
Please listen regardless of genre.
I`m sure you`ll enjoy so much.
Your grin is something all Maidiacs have experienced. Listening to Freedom and seeing Akane's smile will make you feel even happier.😊
I don't think it's fair to return to a very old track they didn't write, even though they perform it well.
The new MV "Zen" is Kanami's masterpiece.
I suspect you might have enjoyed that! The good news is that there is an absolute multitude of videos of them for you to delve deeper into. Live videos are usually the best. Warning: You are entering a world from which there is no escape.
THE best Hard Rock band on Earth. Think that covers everything.
Hang on let me check...Yep that covers everything.👍
@@GaryHolloway-810 The maids taught me to be neat and precise.
Fun Reaction
Welcome to Band-Maid!!!!!
❤️💛💚💙💜
This is angry Saiki, addressing a guy who hurt a good friend of hers by cheating on her. The lyrics are brutal, and hilarious.
Well like the rest of us, you will not be able to escape 😂.
Still just the tip of the iceberg. So much more JOY 🤩 to follow from the Maids!
And the journey begins😎🤘

Screamo is a prerequisite for metal? Really? This is going to be disturbing news to a lot of metal bands.
