Obsidian can only be broken by a diamond pickaxe, although, it's not possible to mine with 2 pickaxes at a time and break things faster.
Then again, they're not going to suddenly stop being able to use both hands just because they're using Minecraft tools.
P.S. Anything can break obsidian, it's just that it'll only drop if you use a diamond_pickaxe.

I swear i learnt more things about minecraft here than the game itself
Honestly, I don’t care for the subtitles. A lot of the fun is seeing their reactions without them having to voice everything. Lines like, “Time to mine like a boss!!!” really take me out of the otherwise awesome animation.
