"Anger feels fulfilling" Very true, something I need to remind myself. Anger SEEMS like it's fulfilling in the moment until after you've fucked everything up. This podcast is incapable of putting out shitty episodes, love 'em all.

Please do some public relations work and get this podcast the subscriber numbers that it deserves. This podcast is worth a lot more than its YT stats give it credit for.

I grew up in an angry, environment. I saw it in my ex-wife: she got angry to work, and she was very effective. I began to use anger as a teen, building homes. I could get angry, and be very productive. Over time, the anger got out of control. Some jerk cuts me off, and honks at me. I'd jump out of my truck, be ready to drag them out of their car. I found success through my Christianity. I'm not going to look them up, I think Proverbs, "a man without control of his spirit is like a city, with broken down walls." I recall thinking that anger was a team of horses that didn't yield to the reins. I stopped using anger. Maybe I've lost some productivity. If you see someone who is successful in anger, look at those around them, who are as de-energised as the angry person is energized, like the angry person is stealing energy from those they dominate.

Anger proper is a passion from the irascible appetite that must be understood with desire, hope, and sorrow, according to Aquinas (S. Th. I-II q.46). Anger aims (its end or telos) at vindication in the sense of justice, i.e., making some wrong right (Lat. jus) and it’s there that pleasure is found when this good has been reached. Since anger is a passion that seeks the good, calmness is not its opposite but rather a privation of anger. Anger lasts as long as there is hope that something can be done, when there is no hope this turns to sorrow or hatred. However, if you are person with unbridled passions then it may just be reduced to vengeance. The root of all passions is love. Passions are actually neutral since they simply move you (appetite), but your intellect, or lack of, decides what to do with it.
What's being discussed here is anger and an irratibleness from oppressive thoughts rooted in perceived injustices. Anger is always directed at a person, but this person is yourself. The person with this anger against himself should first seek to justify (just war doctrine) and if not justifiable then seek forgiveness in confession, trusting in God's forgiveness and resting in it. However, I can tell you Satan and his minions will keep pushing that button in you if you let them, i.e., if you lose that trust in God's forgiveness.
