I wouldn’t say we dominated but I think we were playing the better football and had the better chances but we let those massive chances go to waste with out horrible finishing which is a worrying trend for us this season. Good luck to Villa for this season and we’ll see you in April again!

Oh god. I remember Emery’s last 3-4 games. It was reminiscent of Old Trafford during the recent Bournemouth 0-3 game. Such drab atmosphere, and the loudest thing you could hear were “boos”. Arsenal really needed Arteta, Edu and JoshK (and a well timed Amazon documentary) to turn things around. Emery was not the man. Happy that he has found a solid ground since, but OMG he was soooo bad at/for Arsenal.

Yep. He was sacked not because of his ability. He was not the perfect fit for Arsenal in that time. The team was so toxic that no matter how a good the manager or players is, the result will tell otherwise (kind of what Chelsea or ManU is going through now). Arsenal needed a ruthless figure to change all those and at the end it was the right decision for all parties. I mean, imagine if Arsenal kept Emery. Emery won't win UEL (again) and Arsenal will go through downward spiral.

Emery was misunderstood in Arsenal. People didn’t understand what he was saying during the press conferences. His fallout with Ozil didn’t help either. But anyone taking over from Arsenal Wenger would have a hard time. Even Arteta would’ve struggled.

Arsenal were absolutely right to let him go and their decision has been proven to be right over time. He has always been a good manager but he just wasn’t the right fit for Arsenal, he did ok in his first season but it was a disaster the months before he left. Defense was non existent and he had no solution, play was disjointed, Arsenal were being bullied by everyone, he was actually regressing. I think Emery is perfect for teams like Villa, second rate clubs with a lot of potential that have no expectations and pressure to win titles. When the pressure is on, eg at psg, he folds

Emery was awful at arsenal. Go back and look at those games, we had no structure, couldn’t defend, Aubameyang carried us to that final where we got thumped 4-1. Aubameyang saved us every single game, every game we were losing at half time and he’d come save it. Not entirely emery’s fault he wasn’t given backing properly by the club but he also didn’t accept a translator so he only has himself to blame really.
