One more bump I used to say that all the time..smh
Lmao 🤣
Sadly I still say it a couple times a year
Is NEVER just one more lol
... and he does two.
Thanks for clear, concise instructions and no filler. Big aid for me while doing my own sights.
You’re quite welcome. Thank you for watching 👍
Thank you so much for the suggestion to try a hot glue gun stick! I thought I had everything necessary for the job (including the vice) until it came to the rear and I didn't have a nylon punch. I was about ready to give up until I could obtain one...but I decided to just watch one more video. It happened to be yours and it was a life saver for me! As a female gun enthusiast I'm pretty adamant about not just knowing how, but actually doing any and everything to with my guns, including all modifications 100% with my own two hands and on my own. That one small hack you suggested made it possible for me to change out the sights on my glock 26 on my own with everything I already had on hand. You sir, have definitely earned yourself a like and new subscriber
Thank you so very much for your kind comments, I really appreciate it. When I make videos I truly just try to problem solve what I can with what I have. Ironically my wife isn’t that crafty (hence why I had nylon punches), but if we were back in VA I know I would have borrowed a glue stick from my mother-in-law.
I try to keep things simple because there are more of us common folk then those that “need” a $100 solution to a $5 problem.
Thank you again for watching, and I hope my content continues to earn your subscription.
Respectfully,
Kris.
This comment was helpful as well, I’m at the same spot you were in and about to use a hot glue stick. My only question I wanted to ask you was did you have any problems with the hot glue stick damaging or defacing your steel sights when you were installing the back ones?
The sight pusher tool that's sold on Glock Store for about $80 once u include shipping, is available on Amazon for $39 shipped (at times).
Appreciate this vid. Saved me like 30 bucks taking it to a local guy to do.
Glad I could help 👍
Just did mine Kris and it turned out great, thanks!
You’re very welcome, glad I could help. Thanks for watching.
Made that front sight screw look easy. I finally got the screw started with a magnet pick-up tool then tightened with the glock tool.
I’ll be honest, without the Glock tool (narrow walled) I don’t I could have done it either.
Outstanding vid! TY!
And thank you for watching 👍
Ty 🎉
Another great video !
Thank you 👍
Question: is it possible to wear out the dovetail by replacing the sights to many times. I use a sight pusher.
Yes it works but! I would never pound new Tritium Tube sights on or off a firearm. They damage too easy.. If you do not have a sight tool a small bench top vice with a small block of brass works well, for removing and installing, no need for hammer.. .... Thank you for the video.
If you do t have a vice cant you just turn it on the side on a table
Nice video!
Thank you 👍
Will your method of the nylon punch cause any damage or misalignment of the sights or slide?
Slide, no. The sights, if you have cheap ones then possibly. But, if you have good quality sights then it shouldn’t. What I mean by that is: if the sights can’t take a blow from a nylon punch, then should you really trust them when your life could depend on them… I have swapped sights this way three times now with no issues. The idea of the nylon punch is you still get the power of the blow, but the nylon buffers a lot of the direct strike. That’s also why you do NOT want to use a metal punch. Hope that helps, and thanks for watching 👍
@@KrisMak That helps. Thanks.
Loctite engineers recommend purple for threading that small
Ya know, I thought you were pulling my leg at first. Like, “Purple, cause you mix the blue and red.” So, I looked it up. You are spot on with that, and there actually is purple loctite. Thanks for the info and for watching 👍
@@KrisMak No worries. Loctite 222. It's info I would have never known if not for dumb luck reading way too deeply in a comment section 😂
@@KrisMakWhat about screws for a RDS. Purple better than blue?
Warrior Poet! Hello brother.
Hello back fellow WP 🤜🤛
Ok so my inner big picture observant nature side of me kicked in... Are those giant Valvolene oil bottles and water bottles behind you??? Hyper tough and silver polish containers???
Oil and water, yes. Hyper tough, yes; from bungee cords. Silver polish, no; that’s a way old citronella candle. Had it for probably 15 years and only used it twice (maybe).
Do yourself a favor and don’t do it like this. Get a sight pusher tool. Well worth the money
If you’re gonna swap sights often, sure. If it’s a one and done, then why spend as much money on a pusher as one might spend on the sights?
Also, if you think a pusher is the best method, then why are you watching a video about how to do it without one? Goes to show that some folks just have to be argumentative…
@@KrisMakgot ‘em
i had to resort to barbaric stupidity and knock mine out with a piece of hardwood (cherry) and a 1LB hammer, did it because i broke my 90$ sight pusher doing this, worked quite well, dont recommend. glock19X sights are very stiff and your better off taking it to a licensed smith.
