Bought these and did not realize you had to do all this for installation. They now reside in a spare parts drawer. The Glock dovetails are not unknown measurements. Should be able to make them to fit. Just bought a different set and they just fit. Did not have to file a quarter of the sight off to make it work.

Honestly this makes me want to return the 130$ r3d I just got. Insane instructions. Not that it hard but just doesn't seem necessary, also way to much loctite in my opinion.

Then don’t add as much, they’re manufactures of the sights, what do they know, right?

If I needed to drift the rear sight I would wait until I have it where I needed after coming from the range before I put the loctite around the rear sight.

I have never had to take that much off of a Glocks. But on my Canik it was a bear. I love them big dots !

What did I just watch? No way I would drench Glock sights in red locktite. No one does this. I could understand if you were doing a permanent install on a shotgun or lever action but Glock night sights? Anyone watching use a little blue locktite on the front screw and ensure a tight fit of the rear sight in the dove tail. I had a Glock in holster fall onto concrete on the rear sight and mar the side of the Trijicon HD and the sight was not knocked out of alignment. Red locktite has to be soaked in specific solvents to soften or heated to 500 degrees fahrenheit to loosen and you risk stripping the hex head on the front site screw.

Why are these not just cut to fit the OEM slide of the model you buy. Should not have to work that hard to install sights unless it is maybe a custom slide.

Can you drift adjust the rear after loctiting it in? Maybe blue for this one.

LOVE that delrin punch y’all have. When I was on the site it said “soon to be discontinued” or something to that effect. So I ordered two more. Y’all USED to include them with your sites. Why are y’all discontinuing them?? Just got my two new ones today off UPS actually. Great to have in the gunsmith tool kit!

Stock up while you can, in our experience they have a tendency to break. But you can find good punch sets online in lots of places now.

@@XSsightSystems yeah I’ve got a couple punch sets, regular and roll pins, but these delrin ones are nice when you don’t want to have to use back to black cuz the brass transferred to the gun lol but yeah, they’ll definitely break. That’s what happened to the one that came with my sights from y’all a few years ago. Works good though!

I've seen the filing approach in this video and people just filing on the underside of sight where it hits the dovetail. Dawson precision has a video showing this. When and why would you choose one technique over the other?

With a Glock- left to right to remove, and right to left to install.

I'm pretty unhappy with this whole process. Locite tube was new in package. It was busted and all over the inside of the package. So no loctite to do this with. Also degrease with what? Gotta go buy loctite, file, vise. I wish I hadn't bought these.

That looks like hell. What are you telling folks to do? I'd have thought you knew what you're doing, but now I wonder. When I watch Dawson Precision's video, I don't wonder. That is criticism of the video, not the sights per se.

I see a lot of complaints here about this installation. I have never purchased sights that "just fit" I wouldn't want this either because if you don't file to fit, they just come loose. Use a gunsmith if you don't know what you're doing people.

@@mhel1angel308 files cut properly in push or forward direction, so if the file is stationary, he should have moved the sight from the front of the file to the back of the file. That is why it took so many passes to fit.
