Unlock the Magic: Play Reggae Beat on Acoustic Guitar

  • The video is all about how to play the reggae beat on an acoustic guitar. I start by introducing the reggae rhythm, which is a style of music that comes from Jamaica.
I say that the rhythm is based on something called the "one-drop pattern", which means you accent the third beat of each measure.
To demonstrate the rhythm, I use a simple chord progression of G, C, and D. I break down the rhythm into two parts: the bass line and the strumming pattern.
The bass line means playing the root notes of each chord on beats one and three, while the strumming pattern involves strumming the guitar on the offbeats between beats one and three.
I emphasize the importance of keeping a steady rhythm and playing with a relaxed wrist. I then add some variations to the strumming pattern, such as muting the strings and adding palm slaps.
I also show how to incorporate a "chuck" sound by lightly muting the strings with the left hand while strumming with the right hand.
Overall, the video is a helpful guide for anyone who wants to learn how to play the reggae rhythm on the guitar.
By following my tips and practicing regularly, you can add some fun and variety to your playing style

      Hi Patrick
In this video I am sharing one technique, you can combine any way to achieve the beat - in this particular topic " reggae style" . Yes Of course you can do two time kick as long as it stays on tempo. I hope that helps :)
