@@LegacyRetroFormats I think is not hard to convince the people to play it, but they are stupid… prefer Edison to tengu. Edison still worst respect tengu. And this year I think it will come out as a novelty
Having 2 on gateway and 1 on united...always temping to crack united after normal summoning zanji juuuust to see what you might get. Strong believer in just passing and trusting the magatama to defend gateway then hope you draw another sam the next turn.
Regular sleeves are so bad for protecting cards (especially around corners) that you pretty much have to double sleeve anything worth money, and at 10 bucks per 100 for dragonshield, the bar for what should be protected is like so low you might as well do it. Dragonshield goated. The only issue is getting cards sleeved, which is painful with how flimsy ultis are. It's why I play ultra darksouls even though I own ultis, the ulti darksouls are so flimsy I'm scared of damaging them just trying to get them inside of sleeves.
I disagree with Book of Moon being OK in tengu. It's arguably one of the best cards in the format because there's so much stuff like Roach, Tking, Utopia, Barkion, Shi En, Kristya etc that is so much easier to deal with if it's Booked. It outs tengu if you have a follow up way to destroy it. It does all the normal stuff book always does (shut down xyz/synchro plays). Even though it's pretty mediocre in Edison, it's way better in Tengu due to just meta changes. There are more book vulnerable boss monsters running around. Also MST at 3 with heavy, 3 decree, etc makes unreactive trap cards like Bottomless so much worse. Also the reason why it was limited in the first place was that heavy storm was banned when it was limited. Tengu Plant was the first format where Heavy came off the banned list after it was banned after TSHD Format. Konami has always been really slow to move stuff back off the list once it goes on. We need to do more tengu though, mostly because I'm an X-Saber fiend. Hopefully more people build decks, the only problem card is really maxx-c and Tking, everything else for the format is pretty cheap. There's a lot of really cool decks in this format, Plants, Chaos, Scraps, some degen but fun to play stuff like infernity and GKs, etc.
The only thing I dislike about Tengu format is that there is so much back row removal. Three MST’s and Heavy Storm. There is no point in running trap cards other than the solemn brigade.
There are a bunch of decks that play double digit trap line ups though. GKs, TG, Worms, Heros, Scraps It's really hard to run unreactive traps like Mirror Force, BTH, etc in Tengu unless they're Solemn levels of strong, but you can run good trap line ups, stuff like fiendish/torrential/solemn/prison are all generally fine, call is great and at 2 in this format, etc. Also hardly anyone mains MST in this format even though it's at 3.
You really have to stop telling people I sharked you. You gave up, picked up your cards and said game 2. That's a surrender. That's not a sharking. You were already tilted from drawing an all monster or all spells/trap hand you don't have to hide behind this "shark" claim to justify you losing that game. Just accept you lost.
@MetalGearPapi i mean i read lifepoints wrong i put my hand at bottom of grave wasnt hard to undo but u wanted the garentee so u didnt allow me to take back but all good man w.e u wanna call it its cool
@@theman226 your cards were off the mat and in your hand. You really can't accept that you lost when you drew no monsters you summoned gorz and then when that got removed and you scooped it up. I'm calling it what it is. A surrender. Just cuz it's not reducing your life points to zero doesn't mean you didn't see that it was game. You knew you lost and then game 2 you did the same thing you scooped it up after I bottomless your alius. Your life was close to if not full but you knew that was game cuz you drew bad. You can call it a shark but it's actually just you scooping it up.
LETS GO! Return of Tengu to the channel!
ill try and get more tengu tournaments but its tough
14:12 is that an illegal activation of mind control? Or are you allowed to activate it even though rivalry is active?
you can still take control of monsters under rivalry they just get immediately sent to grave once mind control resolves
John explained it below
Where can i find the dandy's token?🤩
Idk about that one 😂
Anyone know where to buy that left playmat? I like how simple it is coz I want one that has the zones and phases with not much else.
maybe John will reply to this comment
It's a mat that stores get when they become OTS I think. I'm just borrowing it.
Six sam player could have used Kagemusha effect to switch the target of ECON to itself and gotten over that Sangan
yes I think he forgot about that effect
Naturia Barkion had a Ghost/Gold print in Gold Series: Haunted Mine! :D
I didn’t know 😂 ghost rares look bad on camera
Luigi in game 1 should also have let lonefire summon go then warning after its tributed a token. Small things
I didn't notice it when I watched good job catching it
Finally tengu the best format. Tengu>Edison ❤
I love tengu 👺 but it’s hard to convince people to play it since no one has the decks built

Tengu plant is a tier 0 format with Tengu plant being the best deck.
Biggest misconception people have about this format. If you play the format you'll see why.
I think its tier 1
