glad people are finally seeing the light I consider 2010-2012 is the best yugioh and i bet alot of people reasons for loving synchro /early xyz era it was just so diverse and fun and how often the format change.
I am a huge fan of chaos dragons formats because that is when I first got into the game. The structure deck dragons collide was the first cards I ever got, besides a 5 dollar mystery pack from Wal-Mart 😂. It is so fun to go back and see how my playground deck could have actually been meta with two more structures and a little change
I've been saying it for a while man. Just requires more people to start acknowledging it. People will catch on eventually, but it is truly sad that Edison got the momentum it did over this format.
@@tcgrewindI personally hope to see people play chaos dragon format, or whatever you call it. The dragons collide structure is my first yugioh purchase. I always try to fit some of that format in my group yugioh sessions. Inzektor, hero beat, chaos dragons, dark world, and Dino-Rabbit are simply a blast We don't talk about wind up though.
I hope this format takes off. This was the time when I most actively played with my friends. Scrolling through your website gave me so many flashbacks of this fun game. Thanks!
On EDOPro, this format is popping up more and more. I can at least play one or two sets per night while Edison is getting to be more plentiful so it's nice to go between goat/Edison/Tengu because for me I'm a fan of all three. I even see HAT sometimes and since i had the most experience in real life during that time its so much fun to make Lead yoke again.
I hope to see tengu plant take off. This is one of the formats I think deserves more play. Tengu plant, perfect circle, chaos dragon, and tele dad need more players. I know teledad format is very controversial but playing that format is actually a great time. It's super affordable now, wierd right, and has a great meta spread. Teledad, gladiator beast, and lightsworn are all at their peak here. Even monarch has a decent anti meta slot.
Great video! I really did enjoy it. However, as a player who's already somewhat familiar with 2011 september format I would love to see a more detailed video on how you can improve upon the old deck lists for example. Like these decks should/shouldn't play upstart, for example agents should play upstart while a control deck perhaps shouldn't, or they should since they have few starters (x-saber for example) Or other things like how to play around backrow, make reads, basically more advanced levels of play and a deeper look at 2011 september rather than a introduction for only the new players. It's something that the more competitive minds would enjoy, such as myself, as well as people who have already played some of it or want to get into it because of all the nuances you can break down. Just some food for thought!
I try to go in depth when I cover my personal deck profiles. But a lot of this is somewhat subjective. Different things work for different players. I can try to do a more in depth analysis for each deck but it's a lot easier to take it one deck at a time. Because that would be a biiiig video lol.
This content and video is amazing.. so happy I found the video Was looking at the website I would love if you had a section of each ban list from the start to the start of links.. honestly feel this is no where to be found and would benefit the people who want to play old school like myself
This is the format I started with. Probably the reason I love tearlament so much is the heavy graveyard recursion and or chaos centric I ran all my decks with back in the day 😂
Falcon punch is not a new deck!! I was playing that during that format and it wrecks!! Fiendish chain was slept on during this format because mst was at 3 people were scared to play it but its so good.
Thanks for the website and all the videos, looking forward to getting in in the ground floor for this format. Is the Discord the best way to find matchs on Dueling Book?
Hello, I would like to know where and when tournaments will be played, I also want to know where they are played in person, I am from the state of Texas, USA, greetings, very good video
I know you have over 70 decks on your website and it is much appreciated as I’ve been trying out and have built so many of them. Any chance we can bump that number up to a nice even 100 I can’t help but feel there are more decks that even if aren’t the best, they are fun enough to play. I think I’ve seen like fortune lady’s and dark magician turbo that seem pretty decent so yeah I’m wondering what other decks there are that we can add to the list:)
This format was the reason why I quit playing yugioh. Once they neutered six sams, I never played again and I don't regret it. The damage done with this ban list crippled the deck forever.
Doesn't the Sept 2011 banlist include Dino Rabbit and co? It's Sept 2011 until Feb 2012 right? Evolzar and Wind-Ups were released November 2011, Inzektor and stuff released Jan 2012. That's super toxic. That's when Yugioh started sucking. I think I'd rather play March-August 2011. Still bigger card pool than Edison but none of the gatekeeping xyz archetypes they released. Or are those ruled out?
Those cards came out in photon Shockwave which is excluded in the pool of the format. You typically base a format on a specific event so for tengu plant format it's based on ycs toronto. That events last legal set was generation force. So it doesn't include dino rabbit, inzektors and so on.
Yeah diversity is fun but for me personally the game is the best with really only 1 or 2 decks in the meta as its as close as chess tht it can be, both players playing a mirror or the counter to that deck, like in GOAT format I like that, yeah its not fun but its competitive which is fun to me, tengu is competitive its just tooo much variety

After playing Edison extensively, I actually really hope people pivot to this format more. Having the full 5DS pool to work with is a lot more fun.

@@lordofthered1257 try ycs Miami 2013 it's that format post banlist so all decks still exist they are just toned down.
@@tcgrewind If you go far enough but just before dragon rulers you have young versions of fire fist and mermail alongside these decks post banlist.
@@lordofthered1257 yes thats ycs miami which is my second favorite format
Happy to see there's a group that loves this era of the game as much as I do. Hope there's more content to come.

Holy crap, that Junk Doppel build is actually really close to what I was playing back in high school. Good to know I was onto something back then!
This video gives me life, so much nostalgia and validation 🤧
Stumbled upon your channel today! Good work bringing attention to Tengu plants -Jay

An amazing video for a beginner. I’m definitely getting into this format
Video was so fire, learned so much and it was fun to watch, thanks homie!
Ay of course glad I could help
Cool video! Deff will start playing this format
Final Countdown is my go to deck 😊
Finished decks 🤝
More layers of interaction thanks to hand traps 🤝
Good counterplay in general 🤝
Thank you for your hard work bro
"Sometimes a contender"😂, naw dog six sams were sick this format i know from experience 😉

Agree karakuri was way underrated during this time, i think i won every tournament i played with it
I wish this was more popular, i just want to play og dragunity
I am starting to love tengu format just cause dark world is in it.
It does change quite a bit
God bless you Tyler for your services in spreading the word on the greatest format in all of yugioh 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I spent over 20 hours straight on this Bible you see here. Now share away my brother 🙏.
@@tcgrewind thanks bro you are the Best, I'm from CUBA 🇨🇺,but i live in the usa
Great video. Really enjoyed seeing all those deck lists laid out with actual cards. I hope to attend some ycs in the future to play retro yugioh.
People sleep on TG stun. I think if people started playing this format as much as goat or edison are played, you'd see a rise in appreciation for TG
I agree it will make a come back more people playing gk
Great content dude, love the decks from this format
Yeah this format was alright, but I wanted to play Kevin Tewart format where detaching Sangan searches and everyone maindecks Ojamagic.
I love the high rare deck lists :D
im inspired to build Tengu plants and quickdraw
Sick video TPT would be nothing without you Tyler
not going to lie I was the Saber Kid at locals back then god I was on dueling network so much back then
Yo, is that diva hero @22:02 still viable? Planning to build it
Yea deck is fine. It takes some work but it definitely has seen success in a few tournaments.
I remember hating getting Royal Tributed turn 1.
we all do. Luckily even at max consistency it only occurs about 12% of the time
Falcon punch is not a new deck!! I was playing that during that format and it wrecks!! Fiendish chain was slept on during this format because mst was at 3 people were scared to play it but its so good.
Gotta play it with vanity's emptiness though!
Thanks for the website and all the videos, looking forward to getting in in the ground floor for this format. Is the Discord the best way to find matchs on Dueling Book?
You can sometimes find random games. But the discord definitely helps. And especially for getting into some tournaments.
Hello, I would like to know where and when tournaments will be played, I also want to know where they are played in person, I am from the state of Texas, USA, greetings, very good video
Click the discord link in my video description we do online duelingbook tournaments there. Idk of many in person ones at the moment hopefully soon!
Does sangan resolves if it’s used for xyz on this specific format?
I specify this in the video but no it does not.
I thought this format was in Tag Force 6, but nope, Tengu isn’t available there. Almost everything else is present though.
The format in that game is weird, because theres cards from photon shockwave, generation force and extreme victory but not all cards from those sets
Thame xyz ruling was more than one week
it wasnt for very long

Keep it up!

Wow, in a third world country. It was a one hit wonder, Tengu Plant dominates that format and that's why it's called Tengu Plant.

My only problem with this format is that people don't play the columbus version and that shooting quasar dragon didn't exist yet.
