@@luisportas I just believe this company is so unique compared to anything else in the world. They started in 2014 with a focus to build a company based on battery swapping. I think the biggest benefits to the battery swap technology is that NIO cars will be the only vehicles where the range of the battery and the technology of the battery only get better the longer you own the car. Most people still don't understand how big of a deal that is. I have been driving electric in Canada for 4 years. To imagine, owning a vehicle where I never have to worry about battery degradation or I could upgrade to a bigger capacity battery on a long trip is mind-blowing. NIOs batteries will always be the safest when compared to competitors because they're constantly monitored in battery swap stations. Recycling of batteries will also be much easier in a swampable platform. I could go on and on about how much I love this company! And of course the s are absolutely gorgeous. Has to be the future. My 2014 Tesla is great and going strong but I am absolutely petrified that the battery is going to explode on me soon. It makes so much noise when I am charging. I only keep it because I get free charging. Also the range has definitely gone. I can now only get 200 miles from full charge whereas before it was about 250.
If I could change the Tesla battery I definitely would and keep the tesla for another 10 years.
That’s definitely concerning-hearing noise from the battery would make anyone nervous. 😨 Have you looked into insurance or getting it checked out? One of the great things about battery swapping is that it takes away those worries. Not only is it safer, but as the tech evolves, you can upgrade to a better battery without needing a whole new car. @luisportas The nio community and house are a great idea, an exclusive club. But tesla will soon have to compete the Onvo L60, Chery, Geely and other brands that will will be able to swap batteries as well, if people can afford swapping I think they will go for this instead a Tesla or BYD etc. Maybe after an EV has had big depreciation or had to pay for new battery they will go for battery swap.

To eliminate range anxiety wouldn't the battery swap locations need to be located all over; for instance if you're going on a cross-country road trip wouldn't one of these have to be located repeatedly along the route?
Exactly. There are already several PSS’s around Europe (they have it on their website). I know those are strategically located between big cities, for us NIO users to be able to do the ‘Power Journeys’ and drive long distances with minimum waiting time 🤓 I feel so geeky to know this. My wish is to have one link in the future that takes me from Helsinki Finland to Porto Portugal😅
It'll take time for them to build up the number of stations like they have over china, but bare in mind they can also be charged in the conventional way, by just being plugged into a charger. Just like any other EV.

This swap was free because you get two free swaps every month! 💸📅 Plus, the unused swaps accumulate throughout the year, so you can save them up for a longer trip if needed. After you use the free swaps, it costs €10 each time. It’s a great way to make the most of the service and keep costs down!

I am in Europe - the Netherlands and right now I can use the NIO Power Swap stations across Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, Norway and Sweden. They keep adding more stations regularly. Stay tuned because I am planning a few ‘power journeys’ soon - which is to do to a really long trip just by power swapping along the way, and I’ll document the adventure here on UA-cam ✌️🤩

That can’t be great for battery, and still have to get out of car. With Nio, even 6 years later, if newer battery is there with longer range, you can swap and get the latest battery.
That speed is only if the localized power demand is low to zero. Otherwise the system will modulate power output and the max speed is slower. Not to mention battery swap is much more than just saving time. It's also, very importantly, so you never ever have to worry about battery degradation or failure. Each battery that is swapped is maintained and you are always guaranteed a perfect battery. Also, you can rent the battery....a smaller cheaper one for day to day.....if you want to go on a road trip just swap in a larger capacity for the trip. When you return home, just swap back to a smaller battery.
Not to mention that MANY local governments are starting to use the swap stations as a means to balance the local power grid as energy hotels. Norway, for instance, has been piloting this quite successfully.
It's not just about speed. That is a myopic view of the advantages of a swapping network.
Do you hold your Mobile While it is Getting Charged? Perhaps no. Now imagine doing it every day the whole year, It is very boring, isn't it? Same is with Car Chargers. BAAS is as convenient as a gas station.
Even if we do the maths it is obvious there is a 7 mins difference between the BAAS and Fast Chargers, it means you still end up standing next to that charger for 2 full days/year (7*365/60) just charging your car v/s a NIO owner, relaxing at his house watching these videos.
The greatest benefit to change the battery is definitely the ability to upgrade to new tech in the future. Imagine how awesome batteries will be in 10 years!!🤩🤩
