I read the HP series for the first time last november and just finished watching the movies for the first time last month, and all I can say is, I get the hype. 👏🏽

Girlie you are not gonna want to spread Harry Potter out, I read all 7 books in 3 weeks and could not put them down, they are the life of so many people for a reason, and your gonna be mad at yourself for not picking them up sooner ❤

I chose to listen to the audiobooks cuz I honestly don’t have time to sit and read a physical and have been having a hard time focusing when trying to read physical books lol but since I chose audiobooks I keep having to wait for them to be available on Libby cuz others are listening too 😭 I was also trying to rewatch the movies after each book to compare and tell me why I ended up watching the whole franchise just to have to go back through again 😅
@Mollywashere the movies are really good and very cinematic, but I consider them separate story's from the books just because of how much they left out and changed. Like I know they are big books and it's alot to film so obviously some things need to be cut, but the things they chose to cut and change are the important things. Not to mention the way they threw Ron under the bus and made Hermione look like a perfect angle, I didn't even like Hermione that much in the books and I loved Ron and Ginny. Ginny, oh my word, 'shoelace' 🙄 she was my favorite character and I loved how naturally Harry started realizing he liked her, it was like of course he grew up with her and they have a strong connection, and then they totally ruined their relationship in the movies, she was the best in the books and I love the movies but they in no way do the books justice

I wasn’t the biggest fan of the mortal instruments series (read very young and cringey to me) but infernal devices feels like it was written by a completely different author! So good!

My 10 year old daughter has read the first 4 books and is halfway through the 5th book 🙈 up until2 years ago she really struggled to grasp reading, but now she does it with such ease🥰 it’s amazing to see
Lightlark is super enjoyable if you go in with the right expectations! It's a little cliche and ridiculous, but in a fun way. If you read it expecting an easy, entertaining YA fantasy, you'll probably enjoy it!

I struggled so much with The Mortal Instruments series that I ended up just watching Cari’s plot videos on them (all except the last book). Now currently reading The Infernal Devices series and loving it SOO much more
I absolutely love the Harry Potter audiobooks narrated by Jim Dale! I would definitely recommend listening to them when you start reading the books ☺️

I had a hard time getting into Cassandra Claire so started listening to the audio versions and fell in love! Highly recommend going that route for her books. Also, your TBR inspires me!

and jane eyre, the bell jar, all the light we cannot see, 11/22/63 are all five star reads of mine. & i adore jane austens books-- i loved pride and prejudice and, you need to read persuasion, that book was great. and the hobbit was so fun to read!! :)
i started reading the unabridged journals of sylvia plath but am taking it slow while reading it.

pride and prejudice is my faaaaavorite book literally ever ❤ SO EXCITED for you to read it! the movie with Kiera knightly is also fantastic and you should watch it immediately after finishing the book
Dear Destiny,
I highly recommend Pride and Prejudice! It's n easy classic to get into and Jane Austen's writing is so much fun! Also, the film is a fantastic adaptation! So so well done.
Also, with Harry Potter, I definitely think taking your time is the way to go. You might want to consider starting it at the end of August as September 1st is an important date in the world of Harry Potter and it would be fun if you were reading the first book on that day!

Also, I am 35 and I was an OG Harry Potter hater. I remember I was 12 when the books started coming out and refusing to read them and refusing to watch the movies. Last month, idk what happened, but my mood reading self saw they were all on KU and I downloaded the first one and DEVOURED. I spend the next three weeks doing nothing but reading HP and I was in shambles by the time I finished the last book. I cannot believe I waited so long to read these books. And once I finished, I immediately went out to my local used book store and bought them all in hardcover and paperback and im already re reading them.
Pride and Prejudice is my favorite book of ALL TIME it is so so good! And the audiobook is done super well too!

Girl the second book in the lightlark series had me CRYING for days afterwards. Waiting for book 3 in October is so hard so if you read them close to the release date you won’t have to cry like the rest of us did earlier this year not knowing if there would be a 3rd book 🥹

“all the light we cannot see” the show on Netflix is soooo good! i didn’t know it was a book until after i saw the show so i definitely want to read the book as well!
im also trying to finish the harry potter books before the end of the year! ive been audiobooking them while im at work and currently am on book 4. im also trying to finish little life, i started it in january and im now about half way through it, so definitely taking my time with that

I‘m so excited for you to read Night Road. I‘ve read it about 4 times by now and it’s still a favorite of mine. I read it first at 12 years old I think but it still hits all the emotions at the same spots. And I find myself understanding the book better over the years. As a younger person I understand the teenagers better but with time I also understand the adult characters better which is so cool.
This book has a very special place in my heart.
