Great song Ian! I can't believe you are a newbie to song writing and all its production! Your entire production sounds like it comes from a person of many years experience in songwriting! I love a song where I can make out the lyrics and your lyrics are simple yet tell a great/frustrated story! Great video too! I would work with you if you are willing!
Thank you Lisee. I've had an acoustic guitar from being a small child but never wrote any songs. Covid 19 lockdown in the UK during 2020 gave me the reason and the opportunity to try song writing in earnest. I watched numerous videos about song writing on UA-cam before I started so I felt that I had a grasp of the basics, after that it was trial and error. Although I've released several other songs , this song 'Golden Dagger' is my first formal collaboration. so it has been part of my learning process. I'm pleased you enjoyed the song in its acoustic version - we are planning a full band version sometime in June. What would you be looking for in terms of working together ?
@@iangmusicmedia I am a professional lyricist. I can't sing or write music! I am always looking for great artists to compose music for my songs! I have had my songs performed on radio and television in Canada, the U.S. and New Zealand. Being a senior now, my husband and I do not go out much because of covid and I have found these wonderful songwriting groups are a great way to meet other artists!
@@liseelevitt331 Thank you Lisee. We are in similar situations as my wife and I are seniors who go out less than we used to due to Covid. I am also primarily a lyricist rather than a composer/producer. I was fortunate enough to receive a special mention in the 2020 Lyricist Of the Year Awards in the UK and make the finals of the UK Song Writing Contest in the same year within the Music Aid Lyrics Only Category. I'm currently much more focussed on trying to improve my status as a lyricist than anything else. Although I do create acoustic guitar harmony elements for my songs I've never done that for other people and in all honesty it's not something that really appeals to me. I think I could learn more form you as a lyricist than you can learn from me !! If you can think of a way in which we might be able to work together as lyricists that could be really interesting.
