- I had to modify my design a little on the belt system of the impact mill rock crusher. The single "A" type belt on inexpensive off-shore aluminum belts, could not handle the power I was trying push through. The heat build-up in the belts destroyed the small pulley. So I have now redesigned the belt system to be double "B" belts on cast iron pulleys. Now the engine can easily get it's power through to the rock crusher.
welcome.
I would like to make a piece like this, is there a video of this mill design available.
Is there an explanation of how to make this mill please, I would like to make one.
Can you show. Us the inside of the barrel of this crusher. You are obly talking about the pullies
Mod might be overkill which could cause damage to the bearings or engine shaft if the crusher was to jam. The belt system needs to slip for safety if the crusher locks up. That is a reason also not to use sprockets and chain. I would have limited the upgrade from Chinese junk to steel single pulleys made for a B series type V-belt and a B series Gates belt.
What a great source of inspiration you are, Sir.
I have found my old power unit with the Brigs & Stratton engine. The engine started well. And I have an air compressor tank of about 5-6 gallons that I want to turn into a hammer mill/ impact mill. Do you think this will work? Thank you in advance.
Greetings Kenneth Prospecting Norway.
Should work. Mild steel will not last all that long though
I listened to your experience and split air tank in two. It became a nice little barbecue ;)
If the drive pulley slips it will gall the crank I know you don't wanna put a crank in it
YeeeeeeeeHaaaaaaaa
