"I've been bald since I was in my 20's, doesn't mean I'm a cultist" Suuuure, that's exactly what a 4 armed alien worshipper would say, we're on to you!
Seriously, I'm totally 'armless ...
To give context.. Im a demag operator in a different industry. Hasbro, Mattel, Lego & GW all use Demags (Industrial Injection moulders) to make their products. Every moulder needs a tool, engineered and machined to to make an item. A demag is £250k and tools start at £50k depending on complexity. GW are now at capacity in their Nottingham plant. Relocating will cause serious production issues. And the available site NEXT to their current plant is owned but for sale. The owner is asking a premium as they know the amount of money GW make. GW higher ups love the profits but refuse to spend to reinvest and wont pay the premium. The reason we have stock shortfalls for lengthy periods is the lack of demags at GW. They have to swap out tools for commonly sold items such as intercessors to make sets like Kill Team. They make a run volume they know will sell then swap the tool back to a common item. Swapping the tool out is a lengthly, labourious process, hence why there are stock shortfalls. Basically they need more hardware and dont have the space for it. Not relocating is causing long-term stock issues. Relocating WILL cause short-term stock issues. Its moronic. They should move and until they do, this stock problem and fkpig scalpers will continue
That was fascinating and very enlightening, thankyou! Makes perfect sense. Why any business, especially one going so well, wouldn't spend the money to invest in their future seems crazy to me, but modern business does tend to focus on short-term profits.
Again, thanks for those insights!
@@EsotericOrderGamers From what I understand sir, there is one or two on the board that are IMMENSELY greedy and short sighted. Hence why the CFO sold the majority of her shares and bailed. For gamers its an utterly sh*t situation with no pending solution yet there is a path to remedy it. Keep up the great vids, all best from🏴
@@archangel0891 I prefer not to speculate on such things without real evidence, it's kind of pointless. She could have sold her shares for any number of personal or professional reasons.
...classic pump and dump economics, unfortunately. The typical non-whale hobbyists are always going to be less important to GW than their shareholders at the end of the day, I feel.
The crazy part in all this, is they've already tripled the number of machines in the past ~6-7 years. This has also come with building a new factory next door, building a new distribution facility outside Nottingham, converting the old one into a component warehouse, and even more recently, purchasing another building on Willow Road and moving all the paint "production" (basically bottling, as the paint itself is made in Manchester) there to free up more room for plastic production in their existing sites.
So it's not like they haven't been investing in improvements. More just a case where it's real hard to keep up supply across all those games and products.
Their full product range consists of hundreds of different miniature kits. You try and keep all that in supply with about 50 injection machines.
I have no idea how they managed before all this expansion with the ~15 machines they had... then again, they were really only focusing on 2 games at the time, which still had notably smaller product ranges than they do now.
Next Kill Team Location = Necromunda
Noooooo!!!
Their organizations are in the name: Leagues of Votann, the biggest league is the Greater Thurian League. I've seen you use the colour scheme of them. :p
Ah yes, League! It's difficult having all this imaginary information at my fingertips sometimes! 🤣
No way! You're the guy from my printed necromunda cheat sheet 😮
Yes way!
Glad to be here with you - at the end.....
Not of ALL things, surely! 🤣
@@EsotericOrderGamers Well, I was hoping it wasn't, but we live in troubling times!
You got that right ...
The best videos are those you want to do and interested in. Otherwise it becomes work with little passion. You have a view point and something to say and that is more valuable to me than the clickbaiters of the world. Good job.
Thankyou, I really appreciate those kind words!
Great video. I subscribed.
Welcome!
Love the paint job on those mini's! Many thanks for the awesome review Peter! Like button smashed! :)
Yeah, thanks for that, glad you enjoyed it! 🍺
Definitely gonna use the Ash Wastes terrain to mimic the layouts, not too eager on the new terrain. Great video, hope you give us an update when it's all painted 😅
I will!
GW hasn't said Termination is the last boxset. They've only said Bheta Decima "is coming to a close".
I know. In this video and my little parody video I take a cheeky stab at the people who make guesses about it all ending based on very little information.
@@EsotericOrderGamers I saw exposition on clickbait mid-video & how you don't like it. But then I reread the title of this vid & it's clickbait. So I put in your Comments to the effect that your title is disingenuous at best, pure clickbait at worst.
As well as spouting it in your intro sentence.
Plus, 'reusing' minis is the status quo in KT Season expansions. So I don't understand the griping.
@@Blaster__CA The title was a pun on termination. But yeah whatever mate, lots of clever points to you.
@@EsotericOrderGamers Yep, I got that part. It's stillclickbait, whether sarcastic/sardonic. Hence my meagre efforts to dispel the notion.
But yeah, whatever mate, just trying to stem the tide of mis/disinformation that's all to present in every facet of life. Lotsa clickbait points to you tho!
Yaegir is a variation of yaeger, both 'inspired' from the swedish 'jägare'. It translates as 'hunter' but is also used for our special forces. The Votann clearly has Scandinavian ancestry...
Thanks for an interesting review!
Thankyou for that info - I thought it might be derived from jaegar, but I didn't realise that was the original meaning of the word. I knew it from the old British clothing brand, as my father used to work in the textiles industry!
There's a long english wiki article on 'Jäger', which is the german version. (jägermeister being the infamous drink)
Oh, and 'some of us are not cultists but simply bald!' is exactly what a cultist would say!
You'll be first up against the (barber) wall when the bald revolution comes! 🤣
I really really wish they would make the stat cards for all the bespoke teams. It was a pain to copy, print and laminate for the teams I have . Playing out of the books is dumb as fuck.
I've spent thousands of hours making unit cards for my own use for many different tabletop minis games. So I agree that useable reference cards are a very, very rare thing in such games, which is annoying.
I was tempted to try Kill Team again with Nightmare, but I can't be doing all the GW nonsense around issuing a limited number of sets and then only being available at scalper prices. In the UK, the Bheta Decima set is being sold for about £170! That is just the terrain.
I think I heard the terrain set will be available again soon.
@@EsotericOrderGamersthat would make sense but GW don't always act in a logical way?!
Given GW's penchant for 3 year edition cycles, I'm fully expecting a new edition of Kill Team this year.
Does that necessarily mean a "big refresh" though? That's kind of subjective. Do people consider Warcry 2nd Ed a "big refresh" for Warcry?
Personally, no... but if a new edition means we can get thoroughly reworked Compendium teams again, like Warcry 2nd, then count me in.
Also, the Broodcoven sprue they've included in this box isn't the oldest stuff they've reused in this edition. The oldest has been the Kabalite Warriors, followed by the Immortals/Deathmarks, and then the T'au Pathfinders.
Maybe it will just be an update or refresh, who knows? Or maybe it's just a new campaign. Thanks for the info about reused sprues.
I'm grimdarked:out! But I figure most of your viewers, bold or T1000:s play those games. I am bold, play tabletop wargames and would love to see you cover other brands suchs as Battletech or Zone Wars.
I assume by bold you mean bald, though I like to think of myself as bold also. 😆 There are gazillions of games out there and unfortunately I don't have the time or resources to cover them all, so Battletech and Zone Wars aren't on the cards - but take a look through my back catalogue (or search on my website) and you'll see me cover many, many, MANY different games!
@@EsotericOrderGamers Of course we're bold. Bald perhaps, but still bold. :D
As always a great vid Peter. Have never played or collected Kill Team, would love to see they campaign games when you get the terrain. There must be someone out there that does similar campaign terrain as printable files or even just as pre printed pieces. Will you be doing anything on the new Tainted Grail Kings of Ruin?
Thankyou - and yes I will, stay tuned!
I think they go to a jungle type planet, they already have alien trees. They also need something different.
After all the Gnarlwood stuff in Warcry, I'm a bit tree'd out ...
@@EsotericOrderGamers But these will be completely different trees. GW can't have us using Gnarlwood trees that we already own, they want us to buy all new trees.
IT'S IN THE TREES! IT'S COMING!
Bald claims, Peter!
Bring it on, I've heard 'em all before! 🤣
Bald = cultist. Knew it!
Damn, they'll never let me back in the clubhouse now!
I'm bald myself, but personally prefer Sects - the more the better! 🤣😎
I really hope for terminators , jet packs, assassins kill team and its all lore accurate i hope for chaplain add in too
Yeah - in the alleyways and buildings of a city perhaps?
@EsotericOrderGamers that could be good you know with maybe so e new terrain, id like plastic tokens instead of cardboard ones they get damaged easily
You may have to get on Etsy or similar for something like that.
@simplesmile6984 I hate cardboard terrain with a passion. Last lot that I had ended up in the rubbish bin!
“Yaegir” sounds very similar to the German word Jäger (Hunter). I doubt it is by accident.
Indeed - we've had a chat about that earlier in the comments!
Jager Bombs!
Kill Team died with Gallowdark. The sets sell out before they even go on sale. It is a shame it is one of the best games GW makes. This and Warcry and both are being killed by GW with the releases selling out in seconds. Necromunda will go the same way.
GW release strategies are bizarre, there's no denying it, and who knows the reasons behind it all (another commenter suggested production capacity and the difficulties of changing the moulds, which I thought was interesting). But in the meantime, there's heaps of stuff for all those games, enough for many, many game sessions, and there doesn't always have to be new stuff for a game to be fun. I still play and love some games that are 40 years old!
I guess you can customize the new one into a Matriarch to go along with your Patriarch!?
Hmmm ...I've already got the little familiar babies ...
