Really great tutorial. Mine was all dry and dirty, and running super hot, since i bought it second handed. Now it’s clean, and running very cool. Thanks a lot!!

Great tutorial! I have been using my mid-2012 since, well, 2012. haha! I've "replaced" it with a 2017 and then a 2019, but they just aren't the workhorses the 2012 is and they feel downright fragile by comparison and I've passed them along to my teenagers. I've upgraded the RAM and done other basic repairs here and there, but it has never let me down and it is still running strong. I will add thermal paste to my list for the next time I need to repair something!

I might need to try this myself. I recently got a 2012 MacBook Pro and installed Ventura on it with OpenCore, but it still runs a tad warm even when just having a browser open, and the fan might be draining my brand new battery much more than than it otherwise would.

I did exactly what you say but it’s still running hot. I’m not sure if my thermal paste is fake or not since it’s pretty cheap.
